If you take resveratrol… did you know resveratrol works differently in your body depending on how much you take every day?
If you’re not careful about how you take resveratrol, you may achieve completely different benefits from the ones you intended!
I couldn’t believe it either until I saw it too. And it is one of resveratrol’s biggest secrets.
And it’s kept within its polyphenol family. Which includes fisetin, quercetin, pterostilbene, and others.
Today, we’ll hear Dr. David Sinclair explaining a mechanism that helps to stay younger for much longer. This mechanism is critical to deciphering how resveratrol works and what it does inside our bodies.
You will clearly see what these powerful molecules do to our bodies and even to our DNA after we take them.
We’ll answer the following questions:
1. If, in Sinclair’s study, the small dose resveratrol lived longer in both groups,why this sudden change of impact when going to high resveratrol?
2. What does resveratrol do to cancer cells?
Is resveratrol a good supplement to kill cancer?
Let’s continue with our investigation.

What I understood from the research paper is that low dose resveratrol protects mice that eat a fatty diet. What I also understood with alternate fasting is that fasting activates the longevity genes and the resveratol protects against the mouse on the effect of feasting on the non fasting day. So, the mouse gets an extra bit of longevity on the eating day compared to mice not taking resveratrol on feasting day. What do you think? Is my thinking correct?

@@WellnessMessiah Hi Rimon, At 36:45 Regarding the link between high dose resveratrol and senescence. How does high dose leading to increased senescent cells make sense? Doesn't high dose resveratrol mimics a high stress scenario, leading to apoptosis? This explains why cancer cells die at high dose. Shouldn't this also mean that senescent cells die via apoptosis as well, since they are damaged/sub-optimal cells? Thanks

I think it's very simple: Reservatrol is a stressor! A little stress activates the cells response a little more than necessary. And this is the beneficial effect. But too much stress is harmful. Many poisons have this effect. So does other stressors, like heat and cold. Vegetables contains many poisons. But we know which vegetables stresses us just enough. In a way, exercise is also a stressor...
@WellnessMessiah

Yes, it stresses without causing damage, just perfect. And low dose doesn't stress us financially haah. You're right about vegetable toxins, too.

Good question. If this is the study, from 2012, from a quick look, they took a small group of mice, not humans (10 each group). They were obese (not like our healthy community), and gave resveratrol for 6 weeks. It tells so little about longevity, and it's only a short-term mechanistic study on obese mice of specific strain that may only measure short-term effect. similar to my muscle growth experiment. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3506499 "At the end of the treatment period (6 weeks) all animals were humanely euthanized" *I couldn't find the human study* send it to me. Leucine itself is anti-longevity but helps with recovery from intense exercise or muscle growth. I've used it to grow 8 pounds of muscles in 4 weeks (Check the intro video in my channel). I took about 3 grams a day. 1.1 grams... not that high. By the way, it's the first time in my life I had a spurt of white hair, proving the point. I find it difficult to believe that leucine can have a longevity effect when combined with another supplement, but I'm open to it. The only interaction I can imagine between Res. and Leu is that Res may counteract the aging effect of leucine. Send me the study if you find it.

Initially it seemed that taking a senolytic daily in moderate doses didn’t make much sense to me, however many people seemed to be doing just that. I finally came to the conclusion that they know something I didn’t, but it seems from the studies you site, they don’t after all and the daily dose recommendations on most senolytic supplement labels should be ignored, which to be honest I always had.

I wonder if daily Resveratrol supplement really is the way to go. I would like to know if intermittent higher doses, say once a week, wouldn't be better. By "higher doses", I mean 0.6 -- 1 g. Although, how can we translate once a week for humans into mouse times. Perhaps once a day for them? By low doses, I consider what we get from plants to be about the right ones. Hi Matt, it makes little sense as resveratrol is absorbed via diffusion through the gut - they have the same gut tissues as ours. Your ananolgy of a Republic as representation for our cellular collective is good, however what may be keeping the cells cooperating to the goals of the human or animal may have more to do with the state of bio-electric fields that surround all our cells. It would be fascinating to see the effects or rather the relationship of various supplements on cellular bio-electric fields.

Are you suggesting the studies indicate that an older adult, I'll be sixty in about a week, would be better off taking the larger dose of resveratrol? You mentioned you would reconsider your dose when you reached fifty. I have been pulsing 1 gram every other day for about six months. And thank you so much for your amazing videos!!!💗

Resveratrol is not the best senolytic. On the contrary, as explained in this video (39:20), a higher dose (such as the one you're taking) will actually increase the number of senolytic cells. Not good! By far, the most effective senolytic known is Rapamycin. However this is not easy to obtain and is extremely expensive. The most effective natural senolytic known is Grape Seed Extract. Not as well studied as the polyphenols mentioned in the video though, so maybe too early to be sure it's as safe. Next up are Quercetin and Fisetin. Though they're about neck and neck in terms of efficacy, there's reason to belive that Fisetin may be the safest of the two. As also mentioned in this video (44:40), an acute regimen (hit and run) seems to be the most effective. This involves taking a large dose, repeating this after 24 hours, then after 2 months. This could then be repeated over a longer time scale, maybe once per year, for example. The Mayo Clinic are currently running this trial on healthy humans, though it could be years before they publish the results (hoping it'll be sooner).

Hi not personalized/medical advice.- I think resveratrol has a place in cancer prevention when taking let's say one day a month in high doses or three dose every 2-3 months. Cancer risk really increases after age 60. The rest of time - low dose only.

The fail rate of cells after dying to another state that ages is substiantial When you look at cells with a 99.9% effective rating at maturity, you take 10 cell spreads and that is 95%^10 power and you get a less than 60% survival rating. Low doses likely lengthen the cell transformation through cell repair delaying the future fail rate because it will signal to repair the cells instead of destroying them and adding an exponent to the fail rate. This is also likely why high doses cause problems and a lower lifespan. The cells basically have a high reproduction rate due to a large enough signal to die and so the cell turnover rate is what causes the lower lifespan in it due to how the signal works in the cell.

What is the dose for cancer
@markvoelker6620
@markvoelker6620 Жыл бұрын
So resveratrol in high doses induces cells to kill themselves by activating the apoptosis program, by creating a signal that causes the cells to think they have been heavily damaged and therefore need to be killed and removed instead of repaired. Okay. But then, why would taking high doses of resveratrol (for example, 5 grams once each day for two consecutive days) preferentially cause cancer cells to commit suicide, compared to healthy cells committing suicide? Do cancer cells have a lower threshold for activating the apoptosis suicide program than non-cancerous cells? A few years ago I participated in a clinical trial designed to evaluate the efficacy of the senolytic combination of quercetin and dasatinib at preferentially killing senescent cells. The dose I took was 0.5g dasatinib + 5.0g quercetin, once. After three such dosing regimens, spaced 6 months apart, the osteoarthritis in my knees disappeared. Perhaps the optimal way to use resveratrol and other similar compounds, is to take low doses daily or every other day, and every once in a while, take a high dose prophylactically to clear out cancerous and/or senescent cells. Here I would say a low dose is about 250mg and a high dose is 5g.

There's someone saying here who took 500 mg everyday until he found he was having blood in his stools. A few ppl will have bad reactions. I personally think 500mg to 1000 mg intake is lethal as daily doses. People want results fast esp the guys. To be really safe and to help your body acclimatise, there was a comment here that said 50-60 mg is recommended when taking it with other aminos for a better synergistic effect on an empty stomach early the morning. If you buy the capsules, you can open it up and release abit to be weighed on a little microdose scale device. Then keep the rest of the powder inside the remaining capsule and use it the next few days. Do what you think is the right amount. If you are sensitive to aminos or easily stimulated by a small intake, then 50-60mg is good if you mixing it with four other aminos

a study I referred to with metformin. They actually showed (I didn't want to scare people off) that active tumor can help cancer survive but high dose kill it. Plus the 2008 study showed low dose rev with abundance of tumors (but a young body!), which fits in the big picture that low dose resveratrol helps cells survive and live longer. besides, if you have tumor, and low dose doesn't help for sure, why take it? there is no upside there.

I still have pterostilbene and berberine and tmg but haven't started any of those.... im just on more standard stuff as my lipids and hba1c were a little high (ala 600mg, tumeric, omega 3) and I've cut out sugar and reduced food quantity and calorie down... I don't drink (hardly) or smoke anyway and I train 5x p week..... becuz I'm fit my Dr's dismiss the prediabetes and lipids saying my profile doesn't give them anything to worry about.... I said "OK, I'm pleased you are not worried, but what about me? Should I be worried!!?!" Frustrating. Cancer is caused by a deficiency of vitamin B17. Cancer cells are just regular cells that remain juvenile (indeterminate) and fail to mature into a specific (determinant) type. Cancer therefore is a metabolic disease and cannot be cured by chemotherapy, radiation or surgery except only ap. 4% of types (childhood leukemia). Animals and humans who consistently maintain adequate levels of B17 in the diet did not get any form of cancer. All forms of cancer involve the same process.
