I have been following the longevity field since I was 50 and I’ll be 60 this year. Although without a doubt I’m healthier because of what I’ve learned and implemented, I’m frustrated that the magic time when meaningful longevity technology is available is always ten years away. It was ten years away ten years ago when I started.

I live for quality over quantity. I’m 63 and probably feel the best I’ve ever felt. Frame of mind is so important. If you sweat your age too much you are in trouble. Live life to its fullest and try to find your best health lifestyle and be happy. Also of course, get your spiritual life in order. Whatever that is for you. I’m wishing all of you the best life possible.👍

So we always worry that "It's always 10 years away". Now I think of this - for artificial intelligence, an AI that could draw or write or replicate voices was always theoretically possible since the 80s/90s, but always 10 years away for reasons. At the end of 2022, we suddenly had things like Stable Diffusion, ChatGPT, Prime Voice, etc, drop on us and now it's just available and a thing. I feel like some sudden change will continue happening from things developing quietly in the background for things like this. Just a bit of hopium for people, lol.

There's no need to sleep so much when you're actively cleaning your channels while awake. At best of times, when I'm free enough to remain relatively close to the moment and can keep realizing releasing and limiting beliefs and putting novel pieces together, which BTW can be extremely joyful, potentially emotional and are always sustaining experiences, I'm getting only a few hours a day on average. I usually sleep a lot more for a week after a few months in that state before returning back to around 6-7 hours for the normal hauls. I became aware of this potential we all have some 17 years ago, and I'm looking and feeling much better now than I did back then, which wasn't bad at all. I worked hard all my life. I'm a sparky. Watch this space. :)

fantastic gentleman, thank you for bringing the subject forward in this KZbin post. I think it's important to recognize that a lot of people who are in their senior years now; which would be 65 and older, budget a certain amount of money to make it to 84. I think a lot of people would be very frightened about living past that, they've retired and they don't have the funds to sustain their current life. Society would need an infrastructure of support I.e., food and lodging. Financially it would be a luxury for people that have the means to sustain their life past 75 years old or greater.

I have a brainwave entrainment device that helps relax me and lull my brain into a sleepy state. It's also helped me to meditate for much longer than I could before. I think the science of mental well-being is more important than longevity. Why would we want to live so long if we're miserable? But the same technologies that advance one advance the other.

Definitely our worst problems are aging and death. We see the acceleration of technology,how humans progressed in the last centuries and how humanity came from the stone age to what we have now. Think about it... It's an incredible long travel who is almost impossible to conceive,how we were a few thousands humans during an extended time and we could still survive until now. Being alive and healthy is the most precious condition we all have...it's totally normal to seek negligible senescence and push forward in this direction. We should put all our strengh on this.

Our worst problem is _suffering._ Aging and death are symptoms of suffering. So is mental illness - which makes many people want to end their lives - and everything else we can include on the spectrum that causes us fear, anger, grief, guilt, shame and everything else. Many great spiritual masters of the present and past have no fear of aging or death. Suffering originates in the mind. But I'm interested in this subject because I would like to live until I don't care if I die or not, and for that, I'm probably going to have to live a very long time.

It is important to note that this verse should be understood within the context of the story of Noah and the great flood. It is not meant to be taken literally as a statement about the maximum lifespan of all humans. No more coffee for me, I had a bad reaction to coffee last Saturday morning. Threw off my 16/8 IF program. So now I do eat breakfast, and ODDLY even though mealtimes have changed, my body still adheres to the IF concept.

I have been listening to Sinclair for last 5-6 years. His optimism is accelerating at a rate faster than Moores' law. He used to say we might see 10-15 years rejuvenation within our life time or soon after , to now fully aligning with what Kurzweil used to say. Sinclair used to say hope Kurzweil is true but it's still fantasy. George Church is more rational person who doesn't go about making too bold statements in media like Kurzweil which obviously made many to think Kurzweil as a jerk. Aubrey De Grey too lost many peoples confidence as he has been saying it's 20 years away for last 20 years. I think we should not speculate too much on time and focus more on the path.

Yes, industrialised countries, both East and West, have below replacement fertility rates with declining populations which are only offset by mass immigration. As poor countries develop, they too experience declining fertility. I think that the latest projections are that the world's overall population will peak at around 9 or 10 billion in a few decades time, then collapse. Without life extension technology, the human race could go extinct!

for reverse aging do they mean not just "regenerate" but even and especially "healing the body".. ? some examples like back pain, plantar fascitiis, bone marrow edema, artritis, tendinitis , often these things like many others don't get healed like they should.. will all these things get healed with this future medicine technology ? if so it would be great and a totally new view of life.. Young and healthy.. i don't think there is something better..

Like Eistein said there is no such a thing as 'time'..... People must label all things, must label others, they have to place all things in a specific box, they are obssesed with the need to control.The first question they ask is "how old are you?" They have to put all in a slot, actually most have no respect for others, nor for others need or life style.

Solving the epigenome degradation problem may be much harder than it looks. Maybe a combination of large AI and quantum computing would have enough computational power to overcome the problem.

Are you so sure these will arrive here fast enough? What would even AI be used for if it requires human input? In what way would quantum computers even tackle a problem that does not necessarily require simulating millions of answers at the same time?
@halnineooo136
@halnineooo136 Жыл бұрын
@@secretname2670 I'm no expert but tackling the epigenom degradation looks to me much harder than the protein folding problem that got solved by an AI from Deep Mind. It's like reversing entropy. Quantum computing has some niche problems where it can vastly outperform classic computing. Maybe biochemistry and pharmacology could be fields where it can be applied.

so in 10 years he believes there will be some way of reversing a portion of our age? i guess we cant get more details on this yet. May I ask why he mentioned age 50? is there any reason we cant get our age down to 21 in the future?
@kerrspace5435
@kerrspace5435 Жыл бұрын
Down to 21 may not be safe. Celluar reprogramming has a no return point (if you across this point the cells lose their identity and become cancer). Anyway it is nonsense now to talk about too much this. 10 years ago people think it is impossible to rejuvenate (reverse age) so who knows what will happen in the next 10 years?

It is not likely after 15 years you can get an immortal pill. The more realistic situation is that you will get tech to extend your life for 50 years (say 150 years now) and you can wait for more breakthrough in the extra time, and that breakthrough buy you even more time, and you can wait for more breakthrough, and go on. In this way even eventually you die you will live ultra long time.

"immortal" you mean. There was a study that said humans would live an average of 900 years if we could reverse aging. We wouldn't die because of illness or age anymore. But we'd live to an average of 900 because humans will still die because of accidents, suicide, ... 900 years of course is very nice, and if you live very carefully, you will decrease your odds of dying from an accident by a lot and maybe get to live a few thousands of years.
