Want to know a secret for improving your recipe? It is all in the method. Instead of adding liquid to all your flour, put all your liquid into your mixing bowl, then add 1/2 or less of your flour. (Drumroll) NOW get your electric mixer and whip the mixture as you would with pancakes batter. Add dry ingredients until it is as thick as your electric beater can beat it. (So it barely climbs up the beaters, and gets pulled back down into the bowl). A few minutes of beating with electric mixer will create more elasticity than 20 minutes of hand kneading. I usually beat for 5-10 minutes, and then add the rest of the flour and knead by hand. It will result in softer spongier dough, and in less time too. (Adding some psyllium husk is yet another way to increase elasticity and softness).

I have been able to find pizza dough recipes without oil, but this is the first one without salt and sugar. I have also been having problems with my toppings staying on my pizza when I go to slice and then eat it. I have gotten to where I press my toppings into the dough to make them stay and not fall off. Cheese used to do that in the past, but any plant based cheese I have made doesn't melt or doesn't help keep the toppings from falling off. Will the tomato sauce help with that?

very easy base to make. I did 50/50 wheat/white. will tastey my next one up with sundried toms and pineapple. I took it out too early so base was a little doughy. And I don't know it its just my parchment paper or what but it stuck to the base and to my oat clusters I made the other day. any solutions for that?

Hi Dillon, can almond flour be used instead of whole wheat. I have a gluten intolerance to wheat. Or, what other flours can I use that are gluten free if almond flour isn't a good one to use?

I make Pizza dough until just recently, being stricter on a WPB diet and avoiding flours. I’m curious why you add the Apple sauce since the rest of the ingredients are all is needed for a pizza dough. Is it for sweetness? The last whole wheat cheese free pizza I made a couple months ago, with only sauce and veggies was delicious. I was oil free at the time and did drizzle some EVOO in too. Great recipe. Still want to know about the Apple sauce?
