I applied this warm up this morning and what I thought was light on 2 of the exercises I chose wasn’t light enough! Good thing I was on belt squat when someone was looking to get on mono, my bag was right under bar and they are next to each other. Hahaha, don’t mind sharing but I was using cambered bar and chain today. Also had to drill in my head that less is more, as far as training session time, but I did get out and not overtrain. How would you warm up for an event day on strongman? The events are: Yoke walk Keg loading Natural stone to shoulder Chain drag Conan's wheel What I've done for a warm up is: 4x25 Belt squat Reverse hyper Leg curl Then either a chest supported row or modified pulldown to include the traps/rhomboids a bit more. Secondary question: What movement would you use in the warm up if the hips/glutes are a weakpoint? I was thinking a glute bridge or the abductor machine.

When you started to implement these types of warm ups did you find that the amount of volume per training session had dropped slightly because of the added work at the beginning or did you find that because your work capacity had increased that you were able to perform more work long term without burning out? I’ve found at least for me that when I add more work that I get burnt out in 3-4 weeks and need to drop some of the work to make sure I’m still recovering. Also did you notice more muscle get packed on as a result of the larger work capacity and extra volume without changing to much of your base training? I compete in equipment and one of my main weak points has been my quads, and while squatting in equipment is posteriorly dominant in a lot of ways I feel I’m leaving pounds off the bar because of my weak quads. Really enjoy your educational videos. They’re helping me get to the next level in my training.

Hey Matt, I have a GHR at home but not a reverse hyper, however I can lay on the pad reverse and kinda do a reverse hyper with a band, holding onto the ankle pads with my hands. Would you say its better to do that, or should I try to rig up a 45 degree back raise on my squat rack for my back warmup? I paired the ghetto reverse hyper with banded laying leg curls and banded belt squats like I saw Jeff Nichols do in his squat rack. Thanks again for all this content. I am hoping these help me get more "fit" to use my strength for grappling, mountain biking, and snowboarding
