I had the competition grade version just now. Even with light steeping (20-30 seconds) I get much deeper color than I'm seeing in the video here, but even so the flavor is mild and complex, without any astringency like you mention. Trying now to see how many times I can steep it before it loses too much flavor.

@horzac, how many times were you able to steep before you noticed a loss of flavor?

@@EcoChaTeas As I recall, I noticed some definite change in flavor/character by the 3rd brew, or possibly 4th although I wouldn't call it a noticeable loss until 4-5. It was a few weeks ago, and I haven't pulled this one out since then so I don't quite remember. I'll have to get back to you. Also I went with the box instructions which was something like 9 g and about 130 ml of water, which is iirc somewhat less than what you used in the video here.
