I have to say, out of all the reactions on youtube you bring in very knowledgeable guests. That's impressive and enjoyable. My family being in the music business long before even my parents were even born, it's nice to see those who actually know the subject matter at hand. Keep up the good work, you're one of the best with these videos.

In an interview Tatiana said the music is set before the lyrics and she procrastinates for about a month before studio recording. She writes in Cyrillic and translates to English perhaps a day before recording and it just happens to work. Amazing woman.

Taking a quick look at the lyrics of Jinjer’s “Pisces”, meaning seems to revolve around the concepts of power, duality, and exploitation. Step forward and meet a new sunrise A coward is shivering inside Today I’ll be a friend of mine who swallows Suffering with smile I drew a different reality With unconditional loyalty Ego hardly can be piqued ’cause I’m selfless Jinjer, “Pisces” As you noticed from the song, the verse is sung with clean vocals. Indeed, one could call the vocalist’s style sensitive, fragile, and introvert. It’s almost as if you can detect some timidness there. Needless to say, this is in perfect balance with the lyrical themes so far. Things change in the verse, both in terms of lyrics and vocal style. Scale armour belies Virgin innocence One being brings life Another runs for death Scale armour belies Virgin innocence One being brings life Another runs for death Jinjer, “Pisces” The theme of duality pervades the song. “Scale armour belies”… “virgin innocence”. Whereas “one being brings life”, “another runs for death”. Obviously, you can find many different metaphors related to power structures there. The latter pair in particular (“one being brings life”, “another runs for death”) is hard not to associate with gender. But regardless of any specifics, it all resolves through the prism of duality, power, and exploitation. The conclusion of the song is tellingly revealing. Pisces swimming through the river All their life against the stream Searching for a hook to catch on And see their sun beam Then suffocate in painful tortures On cutting tables of callous men Under a knife of handsome butchers emeralds are ripped away Jinjer, “Pisces” As I said, this is the tragedy of the human experience condensed. For what is human history if not a long series of frail, sensitive, beautiful creatures that swim “against the stream” (against insufferable mediocrity), “searching for a hook to catch on” (naively being fooled by those promising a “sun beam”), only to end up “on cutting tables of callous men”, where “under a knife of handsome (!) butchers emeralds are ripped away” (this really requires no explanation).

I went to see Jinjer this past Monday night in Lubbock, TX. It was absolutely amazing. If you ever get a chance to see them live, take it. Videos do not do justice for the sheer talent of this band. The power and control that Tatiana has over her voice is mind blowing. Dynamite definitely comes in small packages.

The last growling chorus is: Pisces swimming through the river All their life against the stream Searching for a hook to catch on and see their sun beam Then suffocate in painful tortures On cutting tables of callous men Under a knife of handsome butchers Emeralds are ripped away Emeralds are ripped away Emeralds are ripped away Emeralds are ripped away

"Pices swimming through the river all their lives against the stream. Searching for a hook to catch on, to see their sunbeam. Then suffocate in painful tortures on cutting tables of callous men. Under the knifes of handsome butchers, emeralds are ripped away." This is the last part of the song and it makes me cry every time I hear it. It is so very descriptive. First, if you've ever been to a warf where they are visibly de-scaling and gutting fish alive, it's rather gruesome a cruel to behold. And to know this Pisces character compares herself one of these fish, merely looking for happiness (the sunbeam) only to be destroyed by handsome butchers. It's so, so sad.

7:24 I call it the "Cuddle/Punch" combo.. In the verses, she cuddles you with her sweet, soft and sensual voice. It makes you chill out and drop your guard. Then once you're settled in and comfortable, the chorus drops, she catches you sleeping, your hands are down, and smokes you with a left hook leaving you in shock like wtf just happened 😲😵‍💫🤣

These are my favorite reactions…when black Pegasus has newly discovered an artist or song and then excitedly shows his friends, acquaintances, fellow rappers etc. There is something about watching him, watch their reaction that is special. The way he looks at them and then the camera and then may give a little snicker. Like we are all in on a secret together. It’s the best. I haven’t really seen any other reaction channels doing this. I love it, great job, makes me happy!

This is the first time i DON`T see that comment under one of these reactions. So here it is. That is not actually her Voice she is using there, trying to make those sounds with your vocal chords would 100% turn them into Shawarma. What she is doing is using False Chords, and those sound pretty much the same for men and women and aren´t that sensitive. I´ve heard people say that she is one of the CLEANEST vocalists WORLDWIDE when it comes to growls.

I always took this song being called Pisces as representing the duality of life. Light and dark. Ying and Yang. Hence the 2 fish. The theme is representing with her angelic Brittany Spears sounding regular voice, and then the dark growling. Both co-existing within the same person.

"Emeralds are ripped away..." The scales of the fish are ripped away by the "handsome butchers". She's relating herself or other women to the fish Pisces, who are attracted to the hooks and captured by the nets of men. At least that's my take on it.

The technical details of "False chord screaming" (what she is doing) mean that men or women can do it. She does it well, but other women who do the false chord screams get just as low. It's not done with your regular vocal chords, hence the name. There are videos that explain how it's done.

I'm posting this in your latest member video so that it doesn't get lost. I think the time has come for you to be introduced to sabaton. This will be unlike anything you've seen before. There is 2 parts to this reaction. First the history and back story so that you become aware and learn about what the song is about, and then the song after. So sabaton sing about war history. History should have been taught in school like this. So I'm starting you off on 40 to 1, because it's the first episode of sabaton history and because this is the song that exploded their popularity. The song became a sort of cult song in Poland and an unofficial anthem and a symbol of national pride. So much so that the bishop for Poland presented the band with an ancient sword from the national archives of Poland live on stage at a festival. Imagine that. A catholic bishop (might have been a cardinal I can't remember) on stage at a metal festival. Presenting a band with a national treasure 40 to 1 history kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6HFaZqKiLKImNE 40 to 1 live video kzbin.info/www/bejne/oorOl4Wwd9Osmrc Uprising history kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHPCdmCdn9ONbaM kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWqpnJ-qodOAZq8 Uprising video live kzbin.info/www/bejne/oorOl4Wwd9Osmrc Please watch the history aswell as the video, because these things are important. What they are doing is important. They are passing knowledge of our history weather it's history to not repeat, or things that we should aspire to. They have found a way to do this and engage people, from young old and in between. Do these 2 first and then go from there, at some point though I recommend you to have to cover Christmas truce by sabaton also

Tatiana Shmailyuk is a big believer in astrology. "I know it doesn't rule your life, but in some ways, it can determine your past," As a Pisces, Shmailyuk struggles with the complicated nature of her sign, which is symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions. She wrote this track to show solidarity with her astrological family. "It's a little anthem to all those Pisces out there, because it's really hard for them to survive in this world, because they combine all the 12 signs of the zodiac in themselves. You can call it split personalities. So, we are 12 personalities inside. It's a lot of inner conflicts all the time."

The heck he mean by "bring the girl back"? She's still singing. And just as beautifully as ever. Edit: Demons? Really, dude? Just because a voice is deep and rough, it automatically becomes demonic? Demons, if they existed, would probably have soft and smooth voices. Like honey to your ears. I mean... Can you imagine seducing someone or charming them to do evil deeds or sign their eternal soul away for temporary happiness with that growling voice? I sure can't.
