Victory is a fool who has the most expensive operation out of everyone. Look at how much better the margins are / more advanced West Coast's work is. I live out west, and I can tell you Victory's jobs are just basic without anything too difficult. Margin wise I probably think Mike Day is best because he only has about $5K worth of equipment (excluding his truck), but Victory has way too much overhead to run that profitable of a business. He just makes his money off KZbin making video's of going to the gas station.

Sit your dad down and explain the employee boss relationship. If he paid a worker to do your job at your ability it would cost him $x plus benefits and retirement etc. Plus the employee would get overtime pay for 40-50 and double pay over 50 hours (depending on the situations). You working 6-7 days 10 hours per day is not a life. It is a death sentence. Explain to him you want more and better pay/benefits and/or a piece of the company. You could also start your own company with a pumper and give you dad a commission on sales taken from his "customers". Or work a different area that doesn't compete with him.

Anyone who does concrete knows how much it sucks to pour and pull around a line pump/trailer pump like this (even with a 2 inch line). Pouring straight out of a truck or into a power buggy is far superior anywhere else in the US where they don’t have horrible access and tiny backyards like California.

Look at how much quicker you can lay down the concrete with a pump, and how much better quality your work is. Not just the quality being better, but your margins are much better. Hey Anthony , thanks for the great content . First time I ever saw a little 2" line pump was in the early 1970s . It was a Mayco (Multiquip) with a 50 HP gas engine. We've been using 2" line pumps ever since in Wa. State . Not a new technology , but definitely a much lighter hose than the 3" line pumps . There are a bunch of guys running around with Olin 535s in our area . Our mix design is called a 6 sack 60/40 . 60% sand -40% 3/8" pea gravel . We normally run some water reducer and micro fiber to give it a bit more strength . Keep up the awesome work , but don't let 'em work you too hard.... Peace - from the great NW.
