Mountain wild camping at it's bets!
Well folks! here we go with another high level wild camp. This time we visited Beinn Ghlas which had a lot of left over snow from previous days and a wet mountain path for the hike up! The path was flooded in places and very slippy.
The camp on the other hand was exciting too! Three of us pitched just off the summit. A battle in the evening at times especially pitching the tents up. The morning on the hand... well that was a real pleasure. Hope I have more camps like this to offer before summer next year.

The misery in is sure worth that morning view with the clouds nestled between the peaks. You've got to feel so small in the midst of all that greatness. I'd like to see that once in my life, but I imagine the loo situation is a real nightmare so I don't think I will.

Because of the high level car park you could easily hike up to 1200 metres in under two hours. Mornings like what we got on this camp don’t happen often. Ben Lawers looked impressive on this trip. ATB Gaz

Absolute cooking carnage....... Fair play to you Gaz, I think I would've exploded if some of the lads came and did that in my lovely Nallo2 GT........ To be fair, Monty is hilarious so its all good craic. What a spot for a camp, well worth the pain of the ascent. ATB

At times I felt your pain, outside the tent shivering trying to talk, to continue the video, me when I come out the steam room, I jump under a cold shower, it doesnt take many cold showers to become immune lol. As for white potato Monty try sweet potatoes, they are a lot healthier for you and cook in double quick time. So on a rating of funny video 10 out of ten Gaz And the views 10 out of ten All I can say is keep exploring, whenever it takes your fancy. Thanks Peter. The cooking is all for the fun while also having a good meal at the end of it. I am definitely the worse cook out of the two of us so I won’t rip into Monty too much. Always fun camping with mates and this camp was a funny one. The views were unbelievable in the morning. I was really wanting the chance to share the views to any new viewers of the channel since my last camp there. 10th Highest mountain in Scotland was impressive for sure. ATB Gaz

Hey Gaz, great video with Monty & Nick, what a crack you guys must have. Nice size tent :) Dont envy the climb up but the views were worth every step. Thanks for showing me places I will never get to see, I have lived in Scotland but I was a lot younger & healthier lol Used to love climbing up into the clouds, camping out & hanging out in the pine forests, we use to have picnics & build dens. I am climbing & camping with you in spirit so please keep em coming :) Take care

Had a lot of fun on this camp with great people. The climb was a pain at times but once up it was relaxing for sure. It’s trips like this I’ll look back at when I’m older and remember for sure. More videos coming especially summit or high level camps on the hills and larger peaks when the weather allows it. ATB Gaz

So far I would say it’s worth every penny! Good vestibule and seems to be a very solid tent. Seen Hilleberg testing the smaller Nallo in 67mph winds and it did look impressive. More camps to come in it for sure. ATB Gaz

I had a camp at Small Water in the Lakes with wor lass in the Nallo 2gt, and the tent took a batering and held up great. It's on video. Small waters.

Monty was funny on this camp! We all have camps like this where nothings goes well. At least he had me and Nick to laugh at him😂 As for the area well Beinn Ghlas will always remain as one of my all time favourite mountains. The views are always incredible on a clear day. ATB Gaz

Thanks Pat, I would say the Nallo 2gt is my best looking tent. The chair set up is comfy and helps with the winter camps. I would say the morning views are the best I’ve seen on Beinn Ghlas so far ATB Gaz

The new chair has been a game changer. It certainly will make the winter nights in the tent more comfortable. I pitched the tent not realising how big of a drop it actually was. No wind so all good on this trip. ATB Gaz

The inspiring scenary and plenty of flat grass for camping that you thoughtfully captured made me seriously think about this Munro. You did very well to keep the commentary coming in summit bitter cold wind exposure.😮 And as always I realy was cheered by the LNT messaging. Beinn Ghlas is worth a visit JMO. Flat grass is great but the views of Ben Lawers are incredible. It’s a shame most people will only go up and just touch the cairn. There is a lot to do on this Munro which my three camps have proven already. Filming the summit in the morning was not too bad. The new GoPros are much better than my old Hero 8 for filming in the cold. Always try and leave a LNT message at the end.. keeps me right as well. ATB Gaz

Always enjoy your videos Gaz,i had a wander up the mountain just along the way from you there Ben Lawers a couple of years ago now & i also got a cloud inversion on my visit,looks a great place to pitch up where you guys were i must admit. That Hilleberg tent looks indestructible! Is it quieter inside in strong winds than the Soulo as i know they can be pretty noisy inside when the wind's howling 😁

I think the Nallo will be quieter than the Soulo but I need stronger winds to properly tell. I got an inversion up Ben Lawers over Loch Tay back in May. Seems to be a good area for inversions like. This won’t be the last time I visit this area this winter. ATB Gaz

Amazing tent Gaz. I had a great summit camp with good friends up on Ben lawers then came down to a positive Covid test. Tried to self isolate at my unit in Bathgate and ended up there for 22days utterly buckled in a bad way. So great memories 🤣. Suiting the beard Gaz 👍🏼

I bought the tent to allow my mates to come inside. It’s a great way to get through the night in winter. Been up Ben Lawers twice and Beinn Ghlas four times. Both Munro’s have been very fun to hike over the last three years. Covid is a nightmare. Unfortunately had it back in March after a run of good camps. Set me back a month like! ATB Gaz
