To answer your question The Tech Marine starts off as any other Marine but he is sent to study the Creed of the omnissiah and basically learn engineering for most machines in the imperium so he upholds a vow for not only his chapter but also the machine cult of mars "basically think of him as a chaplain for machine spirits as well as an engineer and mechanic" that may not be their whole purpose but that's the gist of them.

@zebrion5793Ай бұрын
Each Tech Marine has a different path, but it essentially boils down to each company needing someone who understands the rites of repair for weapons. The actual tech priests are usually busy with the bigger projects and aren't often on the front lines with the marines. So when a weapon breaks down, they need someone who is in the thick of it with the troops who can fix it. They study under the tech priests to learn the more basic things, but they aren't "in on the secrets" that the tech priests are, and they certainly don't share the view of the Omnissiah being their god. They still mostly worship the Emperor directly. For most tech marines, their path usually starts with a severe injury. Losing an arm or something that needs to be replaced with a mechanical one. Because they have machines attached to their bodies, they have to be taught the rites to appease the machine spirits to keep them working, which introduces them to the Cult Mechanicus and it just goes from there. Tech marines are still marines, just with a deeper understanding of machines and how to keep them working.

Most importantly, because of their being sent away to learn from the robes in red about technology and such, they are never trusted enough to be brought into the dark angels inner circle who know about the Fallen, the dark angel's secret shame for which they have willingly abandoned whole worlds of imperial citizens, other space marine chapters and even silenced inquisitors to keep anyone from learning the truth.

For context: within the dark angels chapter is the Inner Circle, a small group of the most trusted and high ranking dark angel members. They know the real secrets of the chapter, one of which is their hunt of the fallen. These are dark angel traitors from the horus heresy. The captain, librarian and terminator leader are part of this inner circle. That is why the captain demanded the techmarine to get heretical data, claiming it to be "for the imperium" when in reality it is to help them hunt the fallen in secret.
@siteshnarayangautam2780Ай бұрын

@4starTitanАй бұрын
@siteshnarayangautam2780 my understanding is that they aren't intending to betray the imperium. But they *really* don't want *anyone* to know about the fallen, as they have oldest brother syndrome as the first legion and need to show themselves as the most superior chapter. And they will do pretty much anything to stop others from learning about the fallen, including attacking imperium individuals who do. So might be some hint of betrayal, depending on how you interpret it.

47:50 Those are space marines in terminator armor. They are from the Dark Angels 1st company called the Deathwing. They were sent by a Librarian which is a psyker space marine, which is why you thought they were coming from the warp, because technically that was a warp portal. The reason you "sense a betrayal" is because (as mentioned in Bricky's space marine legion video) the Dark Angels had a section of their legion that betrayed the Emperor during the Horus Heresy. These marines are known as "The Fallen" the Dark Angels are deeply ashamed of them, and are trying to eliminate all traces of their existence from history. When Remiel told the librarian to summon the Inner Circle, those are the members of the Dark Angels that are high enough rank to know about The Fallen. Meanwhile the techmarine was not a high enough rank to be aware of The Fallen and that's why he was confused by the fact that what he thought was the primary objective was actually the secondary objective, he was kept in the dark on purpose because he could report back knowledge of The Fallen to the Mechanicum.
@OmegaShanicАй бұрын
As for "what does the Necron's information have to do with that?", notice how it includes warp anomalies. Basically, the Dark Angels suspected the Necrons might have accidentally tracked the Fallen for a time, and they wanted that information. At 39:07 this also plays into what they say here - "Never Forget, Never Forgive" - most believe the Dark Angel motto to be about all the traitor legions, but no, it's actually in regards to themselves for allowing the Fallen to happen. And the Dark Angels have done some VERY questionable things to cover up their shame, so they can't let that information get out. There's more recent lore that has changed some of this somewhat, but that's the gist.

The worst thing about necrons is that they never really die. If you down one, it can reanimate. Their metal skin has instant healing and every fatal wound can be healed. When fatally injured, they can teleport back to their tombs, where those cryptek spyders (yes, spyders) fix them back up. On the tabletop if a necron warrior is killed, the next round you roll how many get back up.

45:30 - It is some sort of Leader, maybe a captain equivalent. Almost certainly not the highest ranked Necron on the Planet. If it was the The Silent King, the leader of the Necrons, that planet would be boned. The Silent King is not recently awakened, and fully conscious. Power scaling in 40k depends on the Author, but the Silent King is a being that is probably at the same tier as the Emperor, but with technology and not psychic might. 48:00 Fury of the First. The Dark Angels are the First Legion of space Marines and had access to more tech than any other. It carries over into 40k that they have more Terminator Armor the 3 heavies who teleported in are Terminators. They aren't as nimble due to the bulk but are walking space tanks that have a powerful invulnerable save on the tabletop, depicted in this animation as Blue Lightning dissipating an attack. The Captain had that invulnerable save from his Iron Halo. You see blue lightning coming off it at 43:30 and blue lightning stops the Necrons swing at 43:34. The Terminators were hit by shots at 47:02 from the necrons that dissipated in the blue lightning effect. On the table top, an Invulnerable save means at you get a set save of say 4+ on 6 sided dice no matter where the damage comes from. Powerful weapons have "AP" which is how much they reduce normal saves by. A 1AP turns a marines 3+ power save into a 4+ power armor save. Invulnerable saves are always what they say. A 4++ (extra plus indicates it is invulnerable)is a 4+ vs a thrown rock or Heavy tank shot. Except when their is power creep that creates new damage types to by pass it. And then saves that always work against those damages that pierce other invulnerable types in the next codex. And then weapon that.... And then there is a wipe in a new addition so the power creep can start anew.

I'm sure someone must have explained this to you before but, the Legions as military formations ceased to exist in the aftermath of the Heresy. Roboute Guilliman wrote the Codex Astartes which created a whole new organisational doctrine for the Astartes. The 9 surviving loyalist legions were broken up into chapters of 1000 Marines each. 9 of these Chapters took the name of their original Legions, the rest took on new names. For example, the Crimson Fists and The Black Templars are successor Chapters of The Imperial Fists with their Marines carrying the gene-seed of Rogal Dorn. Each Chapter is Autonomous and the Chapter Master, being a legal peer of the Imperium of Man, acts with authority as he sees fit, according to his own counsel and judgment, answerable to no one except his fellow Chapter Masters and the Emperor of Mankind Himself or His representatives, the High Lords of Terra. This was undertaken with the prime reason that no one person should have access to the level of power that Horus was able to gain during the lead up to the Heresy.
@zebrion5793Ай бұрын
If the Necrons ever fully awakened and returned to their maximum potential, the entire galaxy would be boned to the fullest extent. They are milennia of years worth of tech ahead of everyone else. That's a faction that can tap a button and eradicate entire systems from across the galaxy on a whim. Their weapons disintegrate everything down to a molecular level. Their melee blades are impossible to deal with because they aren't standard blades - they cut through time and space itself, phasing constantly in and out of existence. You can't block them, you either dodge or die.

If you have a bit of time you should watch Helsreach 1-13 John Boylan animated an artistic masterpiece to the audiobook Helsreach, based on Aron Dembsky-Bowden's novel of the same name. It's a bit lengthy, but well worth a watch.

I know you'll like another animator by the name of SODAZ. He started out making WH40K animations that are top tier. Then Game's Worksop messed up and told him to cease and disist forcing him to stop. Now he works on other IPs like he did with Halo, which is also top tier, Titainfall, and now currently Fallout. Please give him a shot, you wont reget it!😁
