Deadly inner sense from their 1990 lost paradise album 👌🏼

Oh yes! One of my favorite's from this band. Same singer, way younger. Redshift is another great song.

Awesome to see some more Paradise Lost. Admittedly I do not listen to the album One second as much as other albums in their catalogue, but I do like this song very much. I think it's fun to hear the different directions that they have branched out in, even if it's not as Metal as their other stuff. 🤘🤘

Legendary band, most their albums differ from each other dramatically, yet all are epic in their own way \m/

Great band, i really like them. Check: The last time, hallowed land, Xavier, Grey and Crucify.

Great band and song, they have a death-doom, a gothic and a dance rock period. Their last album is one of their best

Absolutely love these guys for years. I like their gothic doom side and their pop side and even their «gothic Metallica” side. They are many years old, but they still create great songs. the song and album “one second” became a turning point in their career in the late 90s, they moved into a more mainstream and pop sound, they were played a lot on the radio and on music channels on TV. The absolutely gorgeous hit songs “erased” and “say just words” and “fader” are from this era. They stuck to this style for about 10 years, but then they returned to their previous genre - gothic doom metal. and yes, the vocalist is still the same, like the rest of the band members, in the 35 years that they have existed, only the drummer has changed

oh ok. I was wondering cause he sounded the same then it was a different at times. Overall cool stuff.

First I've heard of them. Wouldn't mind more.

Songs like Behind The Grey and Permanent Solution from their Host album are almost heavy Depeche Mode. Vocalist Nick Holmes and guitarist Gregor MacIntosh did their own project called Host in 2023. Same style. Check out Tomorrow's Sky. Paradise Lost drummer on One Second Lee Morris was s big part of their backing vocals back when he was in the band. I love the One Second and Host albums. The album before One Second are called Draconian Times and are also great. A little heavier but still with great songs like Forever Failure, Shadowkings,Hallowed Land and Once Solemn.

Draconian times is my favourite PL record.

absolutely the best, it's true. In this genre and for all times

Absolutely agree...enchantment is unbelievably good, especially the final sequence. By the way the whole album is great.

@@nemo8416 and “forever failure” is very depressingly beautiful. Although my favorite song on the album is probably “hallowed land” - that riff is divine
@lungfulldrummer89218 ай бұрын
@@nemo8416 yeah for me the album blends their past doomier stuff and big hooky metal really well.

Dude sounds like James Hetfield to me but this was a cool song. The Adam's Family like instrument playing in the background gave this a unique sound. Yea just a good overall track.

Yeaaaa it really did have an Adam's Family feel lol

Not that familiar with this band but i almost always like what i hear from them. They have a REALLY heavy side as well. A favourite of mine is "The longest winter", bloody awesome doom metal.

Same singer, Nick. Plus, judging by your response to other music here, you might like PL's subsequent album, "Host" which went deep into the band's influences from Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy etc. Nick and Greg (guitars) also have a newish side project called "Host" that further explores that side of things. In contrast (and besides other PL) though, Nick also sings for Bloodbath, and Greg has some super dark and crusty death metal projects like Vallenfyre and Strigoi.

This was the strange electronic Depeche Mode periode, this first album One second still sound ok, but the next 2 albums are weak. But after that, the true Paradise Lost reappear!

I admit that I haven't really listened to them yet, but when I was in Finland back in November to see the Poisonblack reunion (featuring my favourite, JP), they covered Paradise Lost "Say Just Words" close to the end of the show, and it was awesome. 😊❤

To me (and I'm probably the minority here), their goth period was their best. I like heavier stuff in general, but not their heavier stuff for some reason. But, hey, like I said, that's probably just me :)

That's the beauty of music my friend. It speaks to us all differently. No one is really wrong in their loving of it. If it hits, it hits.

I love Paradise Lost, but their "goth Metallica" phase is probably my least favorite. Still some cool songs, but I think their earlier and later stuff is better imo. You should check out their song Darker Thoughts sometime. It's pretty recent and it's cool to see how they sound now versus 30 years ago.

This is some of weakest moments in their history. They basically abandoned their roots and went in to this Depeche Mode synth pop/rock. Yes, it's still Nick on vocals....
@Charly66666668 ай бұрын
Nor really weak moment. I am glad to see the Material they did create. It's like a Process they did go through and i like it.
@wildhoney1268 ай бұрын
why “weak”? just a different style, it’s not bad if in this style they did it with high quality and cool
@wolverine6698 ай бұрын
@@wildhoney126 perhaps that came out wrong.... they've always done everything w/ quality, that's true, but this just isn't for me. As I grew up listening their demos, "Lost Paradise", and "Gothic" (all the way to "Draconian Times") This was a bit of a shocker at the time😉
