What A ''Spyro 4'' Needs To Bring Back

I’ve always imagined that Spyro the Dragon 4 would be a bit of a retelling of the Legend of Spyro games, but a lot less dark and much more geared toward non-linear platforming and collecting like the Reignited Trilogy. Malefor would definitely be the big bad and Cynder would be cast as his adopted daughter. When players meet Cynder for the first time, she would at first come off as an evil Spyro who Spyro would comically fall in love with at first sight. As the game progresses, Cynder would eventually find out how evil her father truly is and how he never truly loved her in the first place. This will eventually make her choose to join the light side and befriend Spyro and friends and help them all defeat Malefor.

You understood what Spyro 4 needs alright and I agree. Spyro, as a collect-a-ton, makes the player explore every corner for anything remotely collectable, and that helps to expand the creativity in level design, so carrying that to the next level would be amazing. And yeah Spyro 1 had such unique things that just don't happen in the next games, like the variety of one species. I would like to see more cheetah, more kangaroos, and more dragonflies. I think for more dialogue, the story should also be touched greatly, so every dialogue is important and relevant, both for the main plot and for side missions or curiosities. And Malefor, not gonna lie, he is like the villain I want to see the most in Reignited, and honestly his sole inclusion would do wonders to the story and maybe lore of Spyro Reignited. If not, then maybe another dragon, just imagine seeing Spyro fighting another one of his kind, that makes him doubt about dragons were good all the time. You have such solid ideas for Spyro 4 and I agree with all of them. Spyro must have a comeback and must be done with epicness. Great video!

Although Malefor is a good choice for a villain, and I agree with making him an opposing force instead of an outcast, there's something better that can be done. We've already explored most of Spyro's world, so why not... go beyond? Don't make Malefor a Dragon at all, but something that takes the shape of one, like how Monster King Orochi from One Punch Man takes a human-like appearance, albeit one that looks like something straight out of a Lovecraft tale. Something that might have once been a Dragon, but was only spoken about in the darkest tales, and even then, those tales were strictly taboo to even mention. Something sealed deep within the Moon, or maybe inside the World's core, due to the threat it posed to the world. Something one of the previous villains were stupid enough to get influenced by, and started a plan to unseal it, perhaps to get revenge on Spyro, not realizing how foolish they were... until it's too late. We need a villain that's a true Monster, a true threat to the world who's goals go far beyond world domination. As for some unique collectibles, we can have Ancient Dragon Seals. Great Elder Dragons that were willingly turned into a crystalized form so they might act as seals to prevent this Monster from escaping. And every time you free one of them, they admonish you for doing it, despite it seeming like you were doing something good, and they become bosses to fight. As for what Malefor actually is, think Lovecraftian Horror nightmare fuel, but a bit more kid friendly. We need more Eldritch Abominations in games

I really hope they’re planning for Spyro 4, I can see a lot of potential happening in that game along for other plans they have for the future of Spyro, they could bring back Ember and Flame from A Hero’s Tail along with Cinder from the Legend of Spyro series. They could make them playable with different elemental abilities and have 4 player co-op along with Spyro. I’ve been waiting for these dragons to come back for a long time since Reignited and Spyro 4 can give them more to do. They can even bring back Elora, Hunter, the Professor, and Bianca.

Playable characters vivi? We all would want cynder to be playable, I think Bianca should be a playable character to help spyro to redeem herself full. As for mallifor being a main villain and final boss fight, yeah. I think that is a good idea. I'd be concerned about spyro 4 in ps5 with the feedback unless it will be in a normal settings for spyro 1 to 3. Pull the trigger for fire (or any other elements possible) might have to collect a puzzle to gain new powers in my opinion.

Considering the direction Crash has gone, since they are cannonically the same world I suspect Spyro is going in the same direction, multiverses. I suspect the game will have 3 playable Spyros. Real Spyro, Legend Spyro, and Skylanders Spyro... God i hope i am wrong.

The way i would implement Malefor in the reignited universe would be to make him an influence, something that corrupts other beings. It would be a remix of A Hero's Tail, with Red being just a dragon who became obsessed with this odd type of magic, and it would fully take over him as a proper "Malefor" design for the final fight. Of course it might sound edgy in plain text, but try to imagine it in the style of classic Spyro, let's not forget that the Sorceress turns her minions into abominations.

In addition to the exploration element, I really want the dragons to come back as collectables that you rescue. However, this time with the twist of them actually being helpful in the stages. Maybe there's a boulder blocking your path. Spyro's too small to break it and there's no supercharge access. However, after finding and rescuing a dragon elsewhere in the level, they can help you progress by breaking or pushing the boulder. Some of these types of interactions could be optional, accessing areas that don't lead to the level exit but instead leading to more gems to collect for completion purposes, or hidden minigames, or etc. An additional layer to this could be that you can complete any of the levels in any particular hub area in any order just like the previous three games, and sometimes rescuing a dragon in one level will cause them to be able to help you in another level. These interactions would probably never involve reaching the stage exit for the sake of being able to beat the levels in any order. I'd also like to see the playables from Spyro 3 return, but this time as the equivalence of your moveset upgrades like from Spyro 2. Once you unlock a new playable character, you can switch to them at any time to make use of their unique abilities. Some like Bentley are more combat focused while others like Sheila can help with platforming. Ideally either Sgt. Bird gets his flight nerfed, or he's your reward for 100% completion. Otherwise he'd break all the level design. As for the villain, I'd like it to be either Gnasty Gnorc again or someone with similar powers to him for the purpose of making Spyro have to rescue the dragons again. Alternatively, Gnasty could return as a lesser antagonist to someone else who's taking the "big bad" spotlight. Imagine a new antagonist who's so threatening that they actually captured Gnasty and are forcing him to work for them.

More like when you rescue a dragon, they repay you in kind by going somewhere else where their unique talents are helpful to Spyro's progression. In the original game we got occasional voiced lines hinting at what some of the dragons are capable of, but they always insisted that Spyro do things for himself. It would be nice to see them finally showing off what they can do while also acting as a game progression mechanic.

I would love to see Flame and Ember come back along with Bianca Elora a new Spyro villain that we never seen before human villages Spyro having Dark Spyro as a shadow version of Spyro himself similar to Dark Link but have Dark Spyro in Reignited Trilogy Spyro style the new Spyro villain who actually succeeds in killing Spyro similar to how Mephiles did it to Sonic but have Spyro's friends revive him and Ember kissing Spyro to bring him back. The new Spyro villain can be like the eight headed Dragon Orochi or a Hydra Dragon. We do need multiple headed dragons in The Spyro Series. And Spyro having permanent super flying permanent ice breath and permanent super fire breath. Dark Spyro also voiced by Tom Kenny but with a darker gruff demonic voice similar to Normal Spyro's voice but darker and Tom Kenny as Spyro again. Flame and Ember need their own story modes too and so many other places we haven't seen yet in The Spyro Series.

I think it would be very fitting to have this Malefor character be the main antagonist of a Spyro 4 game as even with some changes to make him fit with the writing of the reignited trilogy, I could see him still being a tough and competent villain compared to the other villains from the trilogy. On a similar note, I also think the same thing when it comes to the idea of having Percival Tachyon being the main antagonist in the Lombax Dimension game idea.

Back to Tachyon, yes the events of Rift Apart is the perfect excuse to bring him back, which again would not only be fitting for a game taking place in the Lombax Dimension (since he was the one that made Ratchet's Lombaxes flee to said dimension in the first place) but it would be a great chance for IG to work on his character since though he is in the top 5 biggest villains Ratchet & Clank have ever faced, he was kind of lame in TOD but I bet IG can change that. Though I don't personally see Zogg having a major appearance in the Lombax Dimension game, I can see him being referenced and having a part in Tachyon's plans/post R&C comic backstory for the game as I could picture Tachyon having forced Zogg to teach him everything the Markazian knew about dimensional tech and such during their time together. It would then be revealed that Tachyon "got rid of him" after the Cragmite got what he wanted, which again could work for his character while adding some darker tones in the game like the older R&C games had.

Honestly, I think I could see The Sorcerer (another purple dragon), from Spyro Shadow Legacy. Be the big bad in Spyro 4. Yes, the character's kinda obscure. And the game was...not received the best. But it was done by the same story team behind The Legend of Spyro. That said, The Sorcerer's dragon form in Shadow Legacy, served as direct inspiration for Malefor in Legend. Considering the fact that he plummeted the Dragon Realms into the Shadow Realm, and also had a hand in Red's involvement in Spyro: A Hero's Tail, despite not being present in said game. I think his inclusion in Spyro 4, along with Cynder to a degree (preferably not repeating her backstory again) would make for a pretty interesting story. That's of course, topped with all the best aspects of the OG trilogy. :)

I have an idea for a 4th game. I like to have elora bianca and hunter including flame and ember to play a bigger role in the fourth game, also including new characters and villains. I have an idea for a villain, I like fictional dictatorship empires. soo I was hoping for a villain to be a dictator that runs their nation and the realms they conquer as a militant national dictatorship empires, like a the fire nation, the intergalactic empire, or the helgen empire. I've had ideas for a Spyro 4 written down in a notebook for YEARS so here they are: The general theme of the game would revolve around elements (yes I know, very original). Each hub world would be themed around a specific element, and the levels within them would somewhat follow that theme (just like Spyro 1). The elements to be used would be Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Earth (which has more of a general "nature" theme). Spyro would be able to use these elements as breaths to fight enemies, as well as interact with objects/puzzles (more on that later). Every breath has special properties and uses, for example: - Fire breath works just like it always has, but now it can thaw frozen objects. - Ice breath freezes enemies and objects into a block of ice which can be moved around by walking into it, or shattered by charging into it. It also extinguishes fire. - Lightning breath fires only in a direct line, but it has the longest range of all the breaths. It is effective against metallic objects and metal wielding enemies. - Earth breath creates a tornado which breaks up the ground underneath it, and if the button is held long enough, it causes a boulder to fire upwards from underground at the end of it's range (similar to the Earthwake technique from Tears of the Kingdom). The tornado pushes enemies/objects away, while the boulder launches them upwards (the boulder will not activate if used in the air). It can also defeat large enemies. I think environmental puzzles would be a great addition to the collect-a-thon exploration-based platforming, as they wouldn't stop you dead in your tracks like the mini-games do. Instead, you would have to use your breaths to open up a path, or even create a new one altogether (this doesn't mean mini-games are gone though, I think they would fit better in the hub worlds). I have some vague ideas for levels/puzzles, some being: - A firefighting level where you extinguish fires - A puzzle where you have to create a bridge using frozen enemies and objects - A puzzle where you have to thaw ice to uncover a collectable - A level/puzzle where you have to charge up batteries (with Lightning breath) and deliver them around the map - A wind turbine level where you have to use the tornado from the Earth breath to rotate the turbines In terms of story I really have no idea, but since I've borrowed so much from the Legend series already, I think Malefor should be the villain. Throw in Cynder as a secondary antagonist who ultimately ends up joining Spyro and the gang, as well as potential Ember and Flame cameos too, and I think it could work out pretty well. Also the boss fights should have more platforming in them like Spyro 1, except every time you actually "fight" them, it becomes more like the boss fights from 2 and 3. And also there should be a boss where you have to "Shadow of the Colossus" your way up them, just because I like those kind of fights that combine platforming and combat.

I’m afraid even if Spyro gets a new game it will probably only be for Xbox cause the Activision deal

this video feels short and feels like it got cut off, with the title, What A Spyro 4 needs to bring back, just the spyro 1 design, and malefor, sounds nice, a decent video, but normally your videos go a little bit longer did you not have more ideas? like what if they should bring back playable characters, or money bags, what about bringing back older characters like elora, the professor, or what about flight levels, was hoping to hear what kind of collectables you think they should add, or what they could add from the older games and put them into a classic style, like the flame jump chest thingys from spyro 1 could return, or bosses inside the hub world that unlock after beating every level like spyro 2 and heros tail, this sudden spyro video did get my attention cos there hasn't been any spyro news, why suddenly a spyro video?

These are primarily two things I really want to see! I see what you mean, if I wanted to dive deeper in terms of gameplay additions and all that, the video would've been titled more accordingly, like ''here are 5 or 10 things I want to see'', something like that! I've always had Spyro videos in mind, it's just a matter of managing all the different content on the channel. Thanks for sharing :)

@@VtnVivi I wouldn't mind seeing and hearing your thoughts for these spyro videos, that you have in mind, since spyro is kinda dead right now and crash is kinda just hogging the spotlight, was so hoping summer games fest would have had a Spyro trailer, but no, just more Crash stuff am getting burned out just by seeing more and more crash, i know spyro, ripto, and elora will come to crash team rumble at some point, but that's still inside a crash game, and when ever a new spyro game is mentioned, its always followed up by, oh i hope they announce a crash 5 as well, like common us spyro fans only have the remakes, but that new spyro 3.5 return to the forgotten realms, could be a good distraction, if your a speed runner, i'll take any leaks or rumor at this point in video form, was hoping Mr Canadian guy eh would have dug up something, or even you, since you do also cover that sort of stuff as well

@@codymerrell5387 I think you're pretty much the only one who wants free flight, the rest of us recognise that free flight would take away all platforming, that's why there was speedway's as its own challenge. Look at the disaster that is the legend of Spyro trilogy, the third game had free flight and it took away all platforming, not that those games felt like Spyro at all anyway but still.
