One bad habit I had to ditch was not asking for names when answering phone calls. In the beginning, I'd get so swamped that I'd forget to jot down names, and it'd bite me later in the shift.

Yes this was very helpful. I have two weeks left of my preceptorship. I’m trying to find my rhythm. New admissions sometimes get me off track. Do you have a video on new admissions? Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! Will do! I am both a medsurg nurse and prn. I was a full-time staff nurse for 2 years before dropping down to PRN

Thanks for the information, the only thing I didn't get to hear is if you nurses do bed baths in the US or the nurse assistants do that
@iamleahelizabeth Жыл бұрын
It’s primarily a CNA’s job but nurses can give baths or assist with baths

You inspired me I am an LVN but I work in a clinic I would love to be trained in bedside looks like I have to go back to school because I work for Kaiser and they don’t hire bedside LVN nurses. Question does this work flow apply to LVNs also?

Do you typically have a CNA on shift with you as well? Or are you in charge of toileting and changing?
@iamleahelizabeth Жыл бұрын
I always have a CNA working with me to do toileting and changing, but I always assist if the patient is a total patient or if I see the pt soiled
@VannahJ Жыл бұрын
@@iamleahelizabeth that’s very good to know. I am a CNA in LTC and the nurses never help with anyone, but we help them with wound changes, vitals, weights etc.
@MessyyMissyy10 ай бұрын
@@VannahJIt’s absolutely horrible that the nurses you work with doesn't help with those things. I'm not calling a CNA if I'm right there at the bedside or a call light comes on and I'm able to answer it. Team work always makes the dream work. However, it's your job to help the nurse. Nursing ASSISTANT.

I’m about to be a new grad nurse in May. I’m entertaining three offers and I don’t know where to start or who to ask. I appreciate your videos ❤ ER, Post Surgical Med Surg & Cardiac Med Surg. I’m so conflicted right now because I always imagined being an L&D nurse however where I live I need some more experience. I know ER is not for me but do you have any insight on what’s the difference between post Surgical Med/ Surg vs Cardiac Med Surg. They seem similar… I’m stressed😢 Thank you 🙏🏾 @thenursecollective

Post surgical medsurg is general nursing! Whereas cardiac will allow you go only work with pts with cardiac issues. Which unit did you select and how is it going?
