It’s a real place. Everything is historically accurate. The church they are filming in is actually in the game. The events and battles actually happened. The only fictional part is the character you play as and his story. Everything around that though is made from history…. Really cool imo
@gustavpepa64626 ай бұрын
Not all is historically accurate. Not only Henry is fiction. For example Istvan Toth is fictional character too or siege of Talmberk probably never happend. But KCD is still the most historicly accurate RPG of all time. The game map is almost 1:1 to real place. All castles, villages, towns really exist. All nobels from KCD really existed and almost all main events of the game really happened.

I loved Kingdom Come: Deliverance for its realistic medieval world, detailed everyday life, and captivating cutscenes. It's a game that immersed me deeply. While some compare it to Skyrim, which I also adore and even learned English from, they're both unique experiences worth trying not the same at all tho

Thank you for your comment! I think I'll have to give the first one a try as well, I'm not a big Skyrim person but this feels like a much better rpg to me at least!

Oh it’s an RPG. The story is one of the best I have ever played. The game is hard though but rewarding when you get good.
@bran18868 ай бұрын
When the first game was put on Kickstarter the selling point was basically "Dungeons, not dragons." The story of KCD is based on real history and the story is fantastic. It is a harder RPG and the combat is very rough at the end, taking on more than 1 enemy at a time and you are basically dead. Henry starts out a simple peasant whose life is turned upside down due to a civil war. Since Henry is a peasant he can't read, so in the game books including recipes will be gibberish, but you can actually teach Henry to read in the game. I would give the game a try, because if you are a fan of RPGs, this is a can't miss IMO, it is that good.

The reading part is incredible!! it really is so realistic wow. Looking forward to try it! Thank you for watching.

Regarding the combat. It works much like real life, if your stats and equipment are worse then the enemy you will most likely die unless you cheese them. It doesn’t matter how good you are at playing the game, it those things aren’t on par with the enemy you’ll always lose. To be able to take on multiple enemies you’ll need better armour, stats and weapons.
@AnoAssassin8 ай бұрын
@@rioyr6210 "It doesn’t matter how good you are at playing the game, it those things aren’t on par with the enemy you’ll always lose." Yeah nah this is just not true. As soon as you unlock Masterstrikes, any given 1v1 duel with is winnable entirely through player skill as your own reaction time can negate any attack regardless of what your stats or equipment is, as long as you simply wait for the enemy to do the attacking so as to prevent yourself from getting Masterstriked. However as long as there's more than one enemy, which there usually is, stats and gear are still the main factor sure
@rioyr62108 ай бұрын
@@AnoAssassin Yeah if you keep doing master strikes on the enemy they will just stay there and not attack you for a long time doesn’t help how you basically do no damage or won’t win the clinch if you’re way lower than them in stats and weapons. Also hence why I said ‘unless you cheese them’. Because abusing the AI to constantly run towards you so you can master strike was totally intended by the developers.

It deffinitelly IS RPG. Old school RPG with modern graphics. After playing first game I have problem to call Skyrim RPG. It is not as much Skyrim, it is closer to older Oblivion by feels, but most things in this world works really different. As you mentioned Witcher, it have similar feel, because it is made by Slavic studio (polish for witcher and Czech for KCD) based od similar history and architecture and stories to some extend, but witcher is 100% fantasy, this is based on real events in real places. Many quest here you really have to stop thinking in aproach to them as you play a game, you have to thing what would you do in real worlsd in that situations. Every quest have like 4 different options how to solve it, so is something doesn't work for you, just change your aproach. Also even on normal dificulty it is pretty hard to play for Skyrim or Witcher players that are used to specific type of playing aproach, because how different this is.

Woah, thank you for the explanation!! It definitely looks awesome, the realistic part can be hard for me though, as you said, I'm a bit used to the Witcher type of games. Excited to try it!

This game is 10 times better than Skyrim. :) Unlike Skyrim, it takes place in real world locations and while Henry is fictional, the events driving the story actually happened. You feel like you're actually living Henry's life.
@newplayer54488 ай бұрын
Yeah but most people aren't interested in real medieval stuff, they prefer fantasy dragons and magic
@birdyrage8 ай бұрын
it really depends on what you like tbh :) to me, I like the realism, but I assume it adds some sort of difficulty to the game as well. Either way, very excited to try this!
@geminicricket49758 ай бұрын
Yea, I personally, stopped playing games a while ago. Got bored with the "fantasy" of it all. Then several "realistic" games came along that pulled me back in: Elite Dangerous (for my love of space); Red Dead 2 (for my love of Westerns); and KCD (for my love of history). Because of Elite, I got into VR which made me then try Skyrim. It was Ok but combat? I just waved my controllers really fast until my opponent was dead. Don't get me wrong, Skyrim was a decent game, but Henry's story is way more compelling because it could actually have happened... Well, most of it, anyway. ;) You really should try it, Ms. Birdy but it can be a bit frustrating at first.
@holextv55958 ай бұрын
Yes in interview they even said combat will be simplified for new player's so I guess if you are not on really simulator like RPG I would recommend for you to wait until KCD 2 anyway form me KCD 1 was so good I mean that it's one of the few games when you actually feel rewarded when you win or accomplish something😅@@birdyrage

@@birdyrage Some sort of difficulty indeed... especially the first levels of the more delicate skills, while henry is still as dense as a brick with his rough blacksmith hands... looking at u, lockpicking, archery and pickpocketing. ^^ But they get much better once u leveled them.

6:52 I loved it, it was so immersive. The comparisons to Wicther and Skyrim are a bit misleading though in my opinion because of the Fantasy aspect of these games. KCD on the other hand is as close as it can get to representing the late medieval period as it really was, and the devs put a ton of effort in the details - for example accurate wall paintings, architecture and clothing. If you decide to play the games take your time and pay attention to these details - it's of course not necessary but you can actually learn something about medieval Europe if you do. 7:50 On the contrary. It is absolutely an RPG - you are playing a role. The difference to games like The Witcher is that you have more influence on the development of your character in terms of who you want to be. 10:20 No it is not an imaginary world. It is the kingdom of Bohemia (Czechia didn't exist in the Middle Ages). Bohemia was also one of the more powerfull member states of the Holy Roman Empire and kings of Bohemia have also been the Emperors of the Empire at times. The kings, locations and grand scheme background events are all historical. If you play KCD - don't go for fast progression and don't expect constant action - try to immersie yourself into the medieval world as much as possible.

It is absolutely an RPG. Any game where you play as a specific character with the options to customise the characters to some degree is an RPG. KCD is like Witcher except: no magic or monsters , historically accurate (architecture, events, characters, combat, etc…), rags to riches story, more gameplay possibilities (stealth, charisma, blacksmithing, alchemy,…). It is designed to be as immersive as possible so 1st person is absolutely a must. Even forests are handmade, not procedurally generated.

If you loved the Witcher 3 you will love KCD 1. Its very story driven, in a world that feels real, very alive and intruiging. It could have used a bit more polishing at some points, but one of the most fun games i´ve played, really up my alley. I´m super hyped for part 2 to continue this story with its compelling characters

8:00 Its 100% an RPG, and not fantasy at all. Just playing well wasn't enough to win every fight, your character started weak, slow and awkward no matter which buttons you pressed so it wasn't a pure action game. There were even levels for reading (as you start illiterate like most of the population), horse riding, and drinking (how well you can handle your booze)

Did a hardcore playthrough and honestly i feel that the game is supposed to be played on hardcore: no compass indications, no magical gps location on the map, more brutal combat for you and the enemies, no fast travel. Absolutely amazing game, combat is involved, dialogue and side characters amazing. Favourite rpg, yes above bg3 for me

You should play the first game. It's a difficult start, and very realistic. But once you level up a skill past level 5, you should be able to handle small challenges. High level challenges(whether combat related or stealth related, or even speech skill related) do require that high level. But you can level up by reading a book on the subject, and you can read a book that's 5 levels higher then your own level by drinking the potion that gives that level a +5 buff. All main skills have it, warfare has it, bow has it, defense has it, stealth skills have it, horsemanship has it, and maybe a few more. not every skill has books for you to read, but most skills also have teachers/trainers who you can pay to level up. Watch video's on what to expect. Lockpicking can be difficult, but there are enough video's on that subject to teach you how to do it.
