Thank you , this is very informative. I had dreads for sixteen years, which grew below my butt, because of the texture of my hair, very soft and curly, and i used to pull it up in all type of styles it started to fall out at the front. I started to get bald at the front and i was force to cut off my years of dreads. I am blessed to find your video and it has encouraged me to restart my dreads of which i really missed.Thank you very much for the edification. You are blessed.

I love the size of your locs, and I have so much admiration for people who start and maintain their own locs! I have sisterlocks, and I re-tied my entire head once during the height of the pandemic. I am so happy I know how to interlock (3-point as well). Thanks for sharing info on your journey!

Your hair is looking good. I always knew that braid locs will look beautifully well on full hair. And it's true that if the braid is done too tightly, it won't swell that much and the patterns will take a very long time to disappear.. thanks for the update.

I’m thinking of starting my loc journey again because same as you, I’m a lazy natural, lol. I’ve tried 2 strand twist style of locs an didn’t like that my hair bunched up as the loc formed an I lost a lot of length. I’m hoping braid locs won’t do that.

At the beginning of my loc journey, all I did was braid and band when I washed it. At that time, I only used shampoo, no conditioner, and let it dry after the shampoo. That was my complete routine for the first year. I hope this helps.

In fact I do have a question. I love the "layers" of your hair. Did it just grow like that or did you trim the edges yourself? Also can you do another post with your hair down and what you use to avoid dry scalp?
@LivinDivine

I'm sorry, I thought I responded to this earlier. I cut my hair in layers for that style. I also use conditioner that prevents any dry scalp issues. I don't use any additional products or oils.

Thank you so much for sharing this absolutely beautiful in that first glance I would have never known it was your natural hair but I have like a ton of hair in my hair is finer and I'm going to be honest I cannot figure out what to do with it I put it in a ponytail or I'll wear french braids on a hat or one of those almost like a turbine with a flower on it I just can't figure out what to do and then because my hair has reached the length where I you know I can go to the salon but that would be costly the maintain a regular you know going to the salon so this is a great idea and also I wanted to ask for a product you use only thing that I would not want to do is have to keep retwisting or rebranding my hair thank you for sharing

I started braidlocs about a month and a half ago and listening to video I believe that mine are definitely too tight. When I initially did them I did do my braids small and tight. Do you recommend that I take them down and redo them looser????
@LivinDivine
@LivinDivine 3 жыл бұрын
It really does depend on your hair type, and if you mind having the braid pattern for long periods of time. I wanted my hair to look more uniformed. I didn’t want some to look like braids and others to look like locs, once my hair loc’d. The hair that I braided loosely, started to look like locs a lot faster than the hair I braided tightly, so I redid the tight ones. It really does depend on what your preference is.

@LivinDivine
@LivinDivine 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. My hair started to really thicken up at about 8 months. Because most locs shrink before you can truly see length, it took about 2 1/2 years. There’s a picture video on this channel that can give you a visual of my hairs transition. It’s in my locs playlist on this channel.
