While I said the same thing, the reality is, your average criminal isn't going to: * buy a 3D printer * learn how to use it * find the stl file(s) necessary to print out the part(s) * print everything out * order the metal parts * put everything together It's just too much. My guess is there are a few people out there with the knowledge to do this that are then selling these guns on the street. Those people already know how to do it and this video won't change anything.

As someone who hates guns, I can't believe I'm defending the gun industry. The reality is there are so many ways to simply buy a gun that it's really a waste of time to go after 3D printed guns. If someone is really interested in doing bad, they can just buy a gun from a gun show. If they don't want you to know a gun's origin, they can just sand off the serial number. I think it's truly a waste of time to ban them. If you want, force every sale of the metal parts to have a serial number and only allow the sale of the metal parts to those legally allowed to have a gun. Then it's completely the same as any other gun. I just think the media likes saying "ghost gun"!

If someone in a jail cell can make a gun from a couple pieces of pipes and rubber bands or bed springs why is the government attacking companies for example the Polymer80 seller who sells to hobbyists? I have met people who are sane and own guns because it is their American right to do so, however, they make their own favorite gun to fire at the range for enthusiasm. I know that street crimes have turned up Polymer80 guns but you cannot look at the source and call it a problem. The problem is people who are mentally unstable able to pass background checks and own guns etc.
