Why are the PhD In Business Administration salaries this way?
1. Supply and demand for the skill set. Different people working on different ideas are in more demand than others, and the supply is relatively low as only a few people are able to get a PhD.
2. Many of these folks already have in demand degrees. It is not uncommon to find faculty in business schools with law degrees, accounting degrees, engineers and other degrees. People self select into this career.
3. The value of some of the knowledge can be generated to have a return. Whether it does or does not is not relevant. What matters is other people believe that this knowledge is some how more applicable than other knowledge. Also, some of the knowledge is likely easier to demonstrate a return.
4. People at the top of their career are valuable, inimitable, rare and non-substitutable. It was really difficult to get there, and few people in this world choose to be like them. If you select any industry / field, and you get the top performers, you will find very high wages.

David Maslach is a research professor of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business strategy, I discuss topics, such as behavioral science, strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and apply these to my new peer proofreading and editing platform. Topics include the sharing economy, altruism, investing in technology, starting a business, and bounded rationality. My favorite videos pertain to incentives, goal setting, and learning from failure to drive behaviors such as weight loss, stopping telemarketers, creating novel technologies, and creating new movements.
r3ciprocity.com: Peer proofreading and editing platform
A new platform where you can earn credits by editing other people's documents. Use these credits to have your own work edited. If you do a good enough job, you can convert these credits to money.
The goal of the platform is to get people to 'pay it forward' and help other people out by creating incentives for people to give back.
