I’m a Toyota guy used to own one of the earlier tundra until 2020. Bought a new f150 2.7 v6 twin turbo. I get 23mpg, 325 hp 400+ torque. I was very skeptical but did my research across Facebook groups and owner forum. Seems like 2.7 doesn’t have the cam phaser 3.5 has or the cylinder deactivation the 5.0 v8 has. I’m 4 years into the ownership all I had to replace were the tires. Used 87 sometimes 93 octane from Costco or shell. I’m at 50k miles and it’s super pleased. The sync 3 touch screen did have some problem with the radio but I forced an update over the air and it’s working again. I didn’t have to pull into the dealer. Trucks are all the same with quality these days it’s like playing bingo. Some win some lose. I used bingo instead of scratch off ticket or lottery because the chance of owner stepping into a landline is higher with these truck.

Have a 19 Silverado 2.7 Just turned 50k and just got it back from the shop after a head gasket replacement, I like the truck for the most part but have really lost faith in it as far as reliability. The trans is always shifting poorly, it’s usually 1-2 it will pause mid shift then slam into second… Probably the last Chevy I will own.

That's a darn shame my friend. I love mine, but certainly have that overshadowing feeling of "is it going to be reliable?" Ugh.. We shall see
@DGander00711 ай бұрын
In 2019 Chevy had an issue with moisture problems with the factory fill of tranny fluid. They redesigned the formula and flush/filled my fluid and all the shifting problems went away. Of course that was after months of torture and 3 trips to the service dept. ultimately I found the TSB and they performed the service. I couldn’t believe that was all it was. I had rough engaging and rough and delayed shifting. Almost like it wasn’t sure it wanted to go into the correct gear.

No Turbos or AFM/DFM bullshit to worry about. There is no oil/trans fuel on my driveway to date. I'm up in age as a Senior, I require a vehicle with safety features to assist me in driving on blacktop roads in Georgia. I'm considering GMC SIERRA 2500 HD CAB) 6.6L (403 CID) SLE 2WD LWB or Savana 3500 Extended Passenger Van 6.6L (403 CID). The main reasons are: the 6.6L (403 CID) is old-school tech, meaning no auto start-stop; dynamic cylinder deactivation; and either can tow 10,000 lbs trailers. The Savana has a slight edge over the Sierra and carries family members and two Large DOG crates.

It gets great milage, and has plenty of power. So far I have had zero issues. I stay on top of parodic maintenance. I only run 93 Octane and try not to run any fuel with ethanol. The no ethanol thing is really hard. There is only one gas station in my town that has ethanol free 93 octane. When I have to put ethanol tainted fuel in it, I keep it to a minimum. Some times the trans shifts a bit rough when its cold but other than that, my experience has been flawless. I'm not a recreational off roader but I do get off the beaten path during deer season. A 3.21 typically gets about 23mpg for day to day driving. On a trip across NW PA to Dayton Oh, I averaged 26mpg, as long as I kept it under 70mph. Once I hit 70+ on the interstate, the mpg dropped to 20mpg. I know the 2.7 chevy is making huge torque, comparing to a diesel, and outperforms the 5.3 in its torque curve. What does plastic have to do with being "basic"? "Basic" can mean just about anything. Usually, it means it doesn't have fearures most vehicles have, like power windows.

Why cannot GM make the interior in some other color than fracking black? I guess the ghost of Henry Ford works in the interior department of GM. Plus, it is cheap and simple to make everything black.

Until people stop buying GM products , they are never going to improve their product. Everything has become so consumable in our society. Nobody keeps anything , how many people even keep a vehicle past 5 years or past the warranty…. Car manufacturers have no incentive to actually make a reliable product …. None . It’s like people who by bmw cars … absolute trash but it sounds cool and cost a fortune so people buy them because they are legit stupid . The world we live in….

If you start looking on you tube for issues with any vehicle (especially comments)you will conclude they are the biggest junk ever. I don’t doubt these problems exist, the question is how prevalent and what the real story is behind some of these stories. For example the cylinder deactivation issues, I personally have not had a problem yet Of course my 2016 Sierra only had 30,000 miles when I traded it in on the 2019, I am at 49,000 with this one. My brother has a 2014 Silverado with well over 100,000 miles, surprisingly he has not had any Lifter problems yet. That’s just my personal experience. Edit: they all have the 5.3 L. I am hoping to get a canyon with the 2.7L engine some day.

The comment section is a crazy place for sure. Lol At the end of the day, each manufacturer has issues and anyone has a chance to get a pile of junk.

No they didn’t hit me but the light has remained on. 2 the automatic cut off quit working a long time ago. 3 my touch screen sometime glitches badly even when it off. I have 16k on it now it’s a 2022, i love my truck but wow they didn’t put a lot of (never mind) I do my own oil changes and I gotta say that drain just sucks oh it’s not a drain it just pours out because it directly falls straight down when you give it half a turn. I'm at 51k and rolling strong. I will tell you this. Fuel average has stayed steady at 21.7 mpg. That's not far off from the 5.3l V8. 2.7l T does have a high rpm cycle in 1,2,&3. Smooth at 4th gear. So far I have had no issue at all and still love mine as a cruiser and daily driver
