Nice collection of parts you dragged home. I was just thinking about all the cool cars those came out of when you were showing them. That would have been a cool auction to go to.

I was thinking the same thing!! The stories those cars could tell!

You should turn your house into a racing museum! Like Garlits did. Your neighborhood is probably zoned residential, so museums may be allowed? You could start it as a non-profit, not pay any taxes and charge a small admission and then retire! Everyone can dream!
@2HacksGarageАй бұрын
that would be awesome! Fun fact, years ago I had all the stuff to do it! I had enough boxes full of vintage drag racing stuff that would fill a garage! It all went to a few private collectors, at the time put all the car stuff on hold to raise my kids. Man they can be expensive!

As an early Hemi and vintage drag racing guy, I'm loving watching this video. Great job saving that vintage iron. If the DeSoto 341 ends up being your builder, make sure to save the camshaft. DeSoto Cam blanks are non existent, so you will have to send off the original for regrinding. Also that 4bbl intake is is highly prized.

Right on!!! These old Hemi engines are cool, heavy, but cool!!! Good info to have, thank you! I noticed that, seems to be quite rare!

Those are awesome brother!!! I love all of the old pistons and rods. I haven't been to an auction in years. All see old cars and stuff and I wonder about it's history. Someone had to make it. Someone had to buy it and so on and so on lol.

Right on!! Those old rods are so cool, lots of goodies there to be had!

Why are Hemi's so cool? Just the name alone is classic!

Awesome score man!! I would of definitely bought that stuff too. Now here’s you something to get you thinking. Those old hemis have VERY close bore spacing and head bolt holes to Pontiac and Ford FEs. You probably know Mickey Thompson allegedly done this or was in relation to the Pontiac/FE hemi heads that are super rare. I think I man could get something cool with old hemi heads and a bigger cubic inch Pontiac/FE bottom end.
@2HacksGarageАй бұрын
you are right on that! MT built them for the Pontiac and the Ford.... makes me wonder what could be..... hmmmmm
@dakotastimeout2827Ай бұрын
@2HacksGarage I vote big inch Pontiac/FE hemi!!!!! I’d at least mock up the parts and see how much work it would take.

@2HacksGarage back in the 90s I met Bob Walker at Thunder Valley he had a little Ford pickup truck with the sides of the hood open a red rim with three twos and a small custom-built 5th wheel trailer Betty hold his merchandise on. The flyer or whatever you want to call it listed all of the different hemis I believe there are about 20 to 25 different cubic inch DeSoto Dodge Chrysler yada yada I used to have a 331 Industrial Bob said they're hand-built The Best of the Best Hurricane Katrina Kane I sold out and got rid of it I am old and long-winded Chrysler Firepower
