As an art conservator myself I am very pleased that we had a faint shout out, but I really wish more had been said about our often forgotten field, especially since we desperately lack in diversity and this would be a great medium to spread the word! If anyone has questions please do leave a comment!!

Please forgive me if this is flippant but it is worth asking: how does the field plan on fixing that? Most people, POCs in particular, need to turn a profit off their degree, but y'all are the poster child of postgrad brokenness.

@@ggcpres You are not wrong and I also personally struggle with that, despite coming from a reasonably comfortable background. There are some improvements being made in the field and it‘s not an easy transition, but unfortunately there also needs to be some pressure from people who won‘t take unpaid work because that is not acceptable. I wish I had a better answer than some of us are really trying (although as a recent graduate myself, I am not in a position to actually make the change, just continue to ask for it).

Reminds me of the time I was an art student. So many questions with out answers. What is art, what is good art, is beauty part of art, and what is beauty? Et C. With that Calculus seemed easy it had answers.

I'd recommend getting at least a Masters degree to be able to get a job in the field.
