I believe that. My mom was type 1 and Dad was type 2. Never had weight problem, I only weight 115 5ft 3 and I am type 2. Always exercised, whole food eater no grains, no fruit. My endocrinologist says I have a mixed . Doctor says test show I am not producing enough insulin. I have worked really hard, however my diabectic life has changed through out the years. I have had to make many adjustments to control in addition to medicines. Thanks for what you do. I am always learning.

I am actually a Type 3c diabetic due to pancreatic cancer, having it resected November '21. Almost no one addresses this. Yes, I know. People like me only make up 2-3% of diabetic patients, However, Dr. Ergin, I would really appreciate it if you would do a video on this subject, and it would be a good teaching moment for others. Thank you!

Nomadic Bee: Would you please tell me what type of Doctor helped you diagnose your Pancreatic Cancer?? Dr. Ergin would not reply to my question of what type of Doctor should I seek to help me monitor my potential for contracting "Pancreatic Cancer "!!! As my mother passed away from this and I want to be PRO-ACTIVE in monitoring my potential for developing this deadly disease!!! Thank you, in advance for your reply!! 🙏💖😟
@nomadicbee17282 жыл бұрын
@@cccalifornia7206 An ER doctor originally diagnosed me after several hours of blood work and imaging, which showed a mass at the head of my pancreas. I had presented to the ER feeling VERY unwell, with several days of loose stools, no appetite and extreme fatigue. After a few days In the hospital and a PET scan an Oncologist confirmed the diagnosis and staged the mass at Stage 2b. I was mightily blessed that the cancer was found early and had not spread to other organs. I opted to have a Whipple Procedure to hopefully rid myself of the cancer, but unfortunately it returned last year and I had the remaining half of my pancreas resected, which immediately made me a Type 3c insulin dependent diabetic. I tell you all the above to let you know that sometimes several different healthcare providers can be involved in a diagnosis depending what's going on, but if I were you I would start with my family doctor, share my concerns and see what he/she advises. They should be aware that your dear mother died of pancreatic cancer. I am so very sorry for your loss. Yes, be very proactive in regards to this and all areas if your health. I wish you the very best. May God bless you 💞 Continue

I've been anxious about my diabetic symptoms and have decided to get glucose test and had 122mg/dL 2-3 hours after meal (that was last meal before bed). Then in the morning I had 91mg/dL on fasting, I didn't exercise or anything after my last meal to really see if my body can handle it. Just wondering how accurate those readings are?
@SugarMDs3 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your readings! The values you provided-122 mg/dL 2-3 hours after a meal and 91 mg/dL for a fasting test-are within a normal range for most people without diabetes. Typically, a normal fasting blood sugar level is between 70-100 mg/dL, and 2 hours after eating, levels under 140 mg/dL are considered normal. However, if you're experiencing diabetic symptoms or feel anxious about your blood sugar levels, it's always best to discuss these numbers with your healthcare provider. They can assess the results alongside your symptoms and provide further guidance, possibly recommending an A1C test, which gives a broader picture of your average blood sugar levels over the past few months.
@nanifiqueyt3 ай бұрын
@@SugarMDs Thank you for the response, I do plan on getting the A1C test and will continue to monitor my sugar levels. Just wondering if it's not diabetes, then could it be related to the pancreas? Like an inflammation or something?

Thank you doc for this video. Does soda cause diabetes?
@SugarMDs3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! Soda itself doesn't directly cause diabetes, but drinking sugary sodas regularly can contribute to weight gain, insulin resistance, and higher blood sugar levels, which can increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes over time. Reducing sugary drinks in your diet and opting for healthier alternatives can help lower this risk. If you have any further questions or would like more information, feel free to ask! 😊

Dr. Ergin, I'm concerned of my potential for developing "Pancreatic Cancer".... My mother died from "Pancreatic Cancer" at my present age of 65. My blood sugar A1C rose to 5.7 about 5 months ago. I started eating a Keto/CARNIVORE diet. My A1C dropped to 5.2 in several months. I would like to ask you what type of Doctor should I seek to make sure I'm watching for potential signs of "Pancreatic Cancer"? I don't smoke or drink alcohol and I have made major changes to my diet and cutting out Sweets and reducing my intake of Carbohydrates too! I highly respect your opinions and knowledge related to my health! I beat Prostate Cancer and a heart attack. I take blood pressure and Cardiac meds now. As I have 3 stents in my heart now. My "Curcumflex Heart Artery" is 100% blocked 🚫 I want to be proactive to be aware of anything or signs in my blood work that might show some possibility of Pancreatic Cancer! As I know it is very hard to diagnose in early stages and that a biopsy is usually the only real way to confirm a Positive Diagnosis of this Terminal Disease!! Both my parents were Alcoholic too. Thus, I don't drink or touch any Alcohol. Appreciate your thoughts on contacting a Doctor who would be best to monitor my health for this potential disease! Thank you very much for any guidance 🙏 😊
