Keep up the good work Doc and I'm praying for you and this chanel to reach as many people like myself who just need the right information so they can take care of themselves. Most of us with insult resistant are not stupid but just misinformed by the experts.

Thank you for sharing another great video. If I already have diabetes, do I have to be concerned about branch chain amino acids making my system more insulin resistant? I drink whey protein shakes and bcaa's with glutamine as a part of my training and diet. Thank you Dr.

It depends on what else you are eating and how your pancreas is at the moment. Some people can, others can't. But what's your A1c score?
@MrJudo2go
@MrJudo2go 4 жыл бұрын
@@Type-2-Diabetes I have maintained an A-1c below 7.0 for the last few years. My glucose meter readings are always below 180. My day time readings are between 120 and 155. I noticed that it does rise with protein intake. My morning readings are usually the highest 145 to 177 sometimes.

@@MrJudo2go those are all horrible numbers. Try adding fat to your shake, using water only, like Macadamia nut oil, or all natural peanut butter to your shakes to slow down the spike in blood glucose

Another entertaining, and informative video !! I wouldn't call it Food Resistance though because there are a lot of foods that are perfectly healthy to eat, and won't cause the insulin resistance. I think a better term is Carbohydrate Resistance, or Sugar Resistance.
@Type-2-Diabetes
@Type-2-Diabetes 4 жыл бұрын
I thought about it and said food, because there are different types of carbohydrate and some of them are not bad, so I said "especially sugary stuff and processed/refined carbohydrates". I normally tell people that if they are getting their carbs from broccoli, I don't mind. I have a video on things that raise your blood sugar but I will make another one in the future. Thanks

What causes me to gain excess body fat above waistline? When I wear a fitted skirt that use to fit me nicely a large tyre of fat will emerge above skirt and below my chest. I have mobility issues and eat low carb/zero carb carnivore high fat at present 16/8 or OMAD format is my pattern of eating Can eating high fat such as olive and coconut oil be causing this excess belly fat to stay
@Type-2-Diabetes
@Type-2-Diabetes 4 жыл бұрын
This is one of the reasons I don't tell people with diabetes to do low carb high fat. I normally say low carb and normal fat, because calories do count, and it will be a problem in the future when the food companies start putting high fat food in every corner (the same way they did to high carbs). And as you mentioned that you have mobility issues I expect that the amount of food you need might be lower than you think. I would keep everything the same and reduce the size for some time and see. But please ask your doctor before making any changes, because I don't have the right to give personal medical advice. Thanks

Hello sir. Followed you through beat diabetes channel. I have a query. Plz help I am 5,7 inch weighing 62 kg now I was diagnosed with diag. 8 months bck with a1c 8.8. Lost w8 to 62 from 72kg. Eating low carb around 120 gms. A1c dropped from 8.8 to 7 then 6.3 and recently got it to 5.7. I did my homa ir test done in april 12 Homa ir index - 0.39 Insulin sensitivity 256% Insulin 2.7 (13 hour fast) Beta cell fxn 39% It surprised me little as I thought of myself as insulin resistive and values to be more. Then on 31 may I did my c peptide test done. Its value was 0.56 Am I type 1.5 ???? Doctors here in india dont tell anything. Thankyou for your time

Does the body restore Beta cells???
@Type-2-Diabetes

Beta cell mass (debatable) and function (confirmed) can improve when it's early enough. But at later stage there will be irreversible damage (with a lot of fibrosis in the islets). I'll talk about that one day.

Marijo Heitman No, but limit the types of food that are insulin triggers (high carbs and sugary food) and don’t graze all day. I eat two meals a day and do not snack at all so that my pancreas is resting most of the time and not constantly churning out insulin. Just making these changes dropped my A1C, and as an added bonus I dropped 10 pounds.
