There’s also a box of ammo, but there’s something fishy about it: it contains 50 caliber armor piercing bullets! Is this alluding to yet another new grabpack gun hand, or maybe an epic battle with the armored prototype? Maybe it’s both! Only time will tell…

The M3 fires a .45 caliber projectile, you probably meant something along the line of a Barrett M82. Which is completely understandable, guns can be confusing sometimes lol. Just thought I'd point it out in case someone decides to read this

Just so everyone is aware, there is an M3 that fires .50 cal, the M2HB has a more modern version that was only used in aircraft called the M3. So, yes, and M3 does fire .50 cal, just not the M3 you think of. EDIT: Yes, I am aware that they showed the .45 ACP M3 on screen, I'm just sayin' there is an M3 that fires .50 Cal, just not the one on screen. He probably showed us the .45 ACP grease gun on accident, because the .45 ACP one is more famous.

The M3A1 “Grease Gun” shoots .45 ACP, not a .50 cartridge. But, the bin also says “linked” on it, referring to an ammo belt, so the M2 Browning is not so far off.

The flare ammo is usually a special 12 gauge shell as shown in the video, and the M3 is a .45 ACP submachine gun, unless referring to the M3 HMG / Cannon

Hey, note that the M3 does NOT use .50 caliber ammo, it uses .45 caliber ammo, and the M1 uses 30-06. I think the guns that you could've used instead that are really popular are the Barrett (M82 or M107, which use the .50 BMG (Browning Machine Gun), are fine) and/or the Desert Eagle (which uses a small .50 caliber bullet, known as .50 AE (Action Express)). The M2 Browning machine gun is fine though, because it fires .50 BMG. Though, mistakes are made, and can be approved upon, as said by a very wise theorist!

.50 caliber, described in this situation is .50 BMG which WILL fit inside of a flare gun. (It may explode but it fits) the M3A1 sub machine gun will not fit or fire .50 BMG and AP rounds are not inherently designed to cause fire. That would be API or HE. So wrong on 3 counts

I think when he got a picture of the M3, he grabbed the grease gun photo. There is an upgrade for the M2 browning that is the M3 browning. Generally mounted on aircraft due to its much higher rate of fire, it needs more air to cool it off

It’s because the 50 caliber part is the actual projectile which is at the tip not the back of the casing so the tip is 1/2 an inch in diameter, the back of the casing is about 1 and 1/2 at least for 50 bmg which is what was pictured so it would make sense especially because in real life 50 bmg does for in 12 gauge firearms such as a standard flare gun it’s just if you were to use it is likely to explode due to 50 bmg having a lot more pressure when fired than 12 gauge. In other words you did not do your research on ammo properly

Flares are usually 12 guage which can technically fire a single 50 bmg but you won't get any muzzle velocity

I’ve got a question. Completely off topic but I’m genuinely curious. Will the MatPat pdfs (the photos that have been edited to give them animated eyes and exaggerated expressions) make sudden appearances here and there. Obviously without MatPat himself of course given his retirement?

Slight correction: only the M2 uses .50 caliber rounds. The M3 uses 9x19 rounds while the M85 uses .30 caliber rounds but I could be wrong. A valid theory nonetheless as playtime Co seems unethical enough to use incendiary ammunition.

Even though they'll never see this. I have to make my one correction. When speaking of caliber it refers to the diameter of the actual bullet, not the casing. .50bmg, 12 gauge, and flares all use the same diameter casings, just different projectiles.

A little bit of misinformation here: the m2 “grease gun” shoots .45 cal ammunition, which is much smaller than .50 cal. The M2 also is an infantry Submachine gun, which is not used against tanks.

If I'm not mistaken, .50 caliber refers to the size of the projectile. A while back I seena video of a guy trying to fire a .50 bmg out of flare gun. It didn't do anything because the flare gun didn't hit the primer hard enough. But the bottle shape of the round makes if able to fit into 12 gauge weapons. If I'm not mistaken

The 50 bmg is for an anti material rifle or mounted automatic machine guns on tanks and planes, I'm a gun nerd so I know that a 50 caliber shouldered machine gun would have way too much recoil for it to be safe
