Doula as part of labor support team: Q’s to ask: -What training have they received? What organization are they certified through? -Have you worked with my OBGYN/hospital before? -Ask when they are available and about any vacations upcoming -If there are any accommodations you don’t need, ask if price can be adjusted Cons: -Limited clientele -Price; Great doulas may charge more -May interfere with partner’s ability to be involved. Ensure open communication -May have trouble adjusting to new plan of care When to hire a doula: -During second trimester
