I also had a amazing relationship with a female squirrel named stumpy she lost a back foot she came to visit me throughout the day for 4 years until one day she stopped coming and I knew she probably passed away I miss her she was also very smart and lovable 💖💖💖 I always wondered how she lost her foot but it never slowed her down she got around just fine R.I.P my little stumpy

Smoothie's a very different squirrel! She is very smart! I am so glad that you understood that she wanted something else. When she kept turning away from the nut jar, I thought maybe another type of nut maybe! But no! She just amazed me! I have not pet a single squirrel yet despite having 32 squirrels! I didn't know that antler sticks are good for squirrels! Thank you for telling me! Now, I can give my squirrels some antler sticks!

I know me too I have 16 squirrels in my back yard that I feed every morning they are so cute I can only hand feed one of them that I named Stubby cause he is missing half of his tail. He is the only one that runs to me to be fed I haven't tried to pet him maybe in the future but for now I'm just happy feeding them. I too will get some antler sticks and see how they like them.

My antler sticks arrived a couple of days ago. Initially the squirrels ignored them. But, I put about 5 of them out and left them. Today, there’s only one or 2 left. Thanks for the recommendation.😊🐿

What a precious little peanut. I lived in a 2nd floor apt that had a balcony porch that the squirrels hung out on. My girlfriend and I were feeding them peanut butter crackers. One little squirrel got close and was hanging on the screen door when my gf reached out to give him a cracker. Instead he jumped onto her then off her arm onto the living room floor. Our cat Legolas pounced on him and "gave him a hug" so I scooped up the squirrel and put him back outside.

When I was young, we would visit my grandparents in Michigan. My grandfather had several squirrels that he fed everyday. I loved watching the squirrels. Then when we lived outside Washington DC we had a couple of squirrels who would watch in the glass doors, see us eating dinner and wait for us to share. Then they would hang upside down on the screen door and eat. I live in South America now. There are no squirrels here. I miss them and their antics. Thank you for giving me back a piece of my childhood.

I love how she waves her arm, a smart little one. We have a few squirrels that we feed, mostly males but two of them we gave female names to. One of them is very sweet like Smoothie. We named her Cinderella then found that she was a he one day, now we call her Cinderfella; well sometimes. Recently my better half got some bad news about one of her friends, I immediately searched through your videos to cheer her up. It broke the ice for a little while. We rehabbed a newborn squirrel last late Summer. Our son named him Lless (no one knows why!). By 3½ months he was comfortably homed in our back yard trees, coming down to eat the peanuts and nuts we put out twice daily for "our" herd of squirrels. He still plays with our son almost daily, flipping like a chipmunk and being really silly. He comes daily into the garage allll day, usually!) to get HIS special stash of treats (filberts and pecans, mainly). In fact he's been in and out 5 times since starting my comment. Squirrels are adorable, even if they're messy!

I enjoy watching your videos! I have 4 to 6 squirrels I have been feeding for about 1 year. There is 1 who stands out as being very social toward me and my dog an 11 yr old black lab, who is very docile and seems to enjoy watching the squirrels as much as I do. I have worked slowly to try to gain trust with all of them, but have not yet hand fed any of them. I'm not sure I want to get to the point of hand feeding. They do trust my dog and walk around him to collect nuts I throw out for them, which is really cute to watch. My husband is now finding them cute and wants to build a feeder for them❤

One thing I really love about the squirrels is the ways they communicate to you. I think they are smarter than we realize. Smoothie was clearly communicating with you, you noticed it and that is so smart! She wanted an antler stick. I saw a video of a squirrel who came up to a person with a plastic water bottle and begged until the person let her drink the water. They aren’t just adorable; smart too! ❤️ 🐿️
