It seems to me to be the iconic female. I haven't been taking notes but the pattern I'm perceiving when men and women describe their ideal partner, they describe themselves. I don't have any strong recollections of a man or woman describing someone significantly different from themselves. On writing this I recall women who say things like I want a strong man who is a provider etc etc. On the other hand maybe these are women who themselves are strong providers etc etc. I wonder if some MBTI types describe the ideal partner as they describe themselves and other types as they describe their opposites? There seems to be an ongoing debate about opposites or similarities attract. Maybe Kiersey did the logical thing to please all of the people some of the time and preaches partly opposite and partly similar as his ideal? I myself am very attracted to NFJs but would not trust that as an indication of the ideal partner. This makes sense to me because just as I prefer not to trust emotion or feelings in my decision making process so I don't trust attraction as a guide. It would be an appeal to logic and reason that would have the power to affect my decision. Maybe I'm a man born too soon or too late! On the other hand an ancient writer wrote an entire poem describing the ideal woman. Maybe the writer was a mother writing a poem to her son?
