The brutality of the colonial violence inflicted on Palestinians by the Israeli oppressor is politically entrenched in the west not just by Zionist lobbies but also by the entitled understandings of settler colonialsim. As a Canadian, I shamefully came to understood colonial violence of dispossession, ethnic cleansing, and cultural genocide of Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island through my Palestinian lens. I came to understand that as a white person denouncing and rejecting colonization, racism, and white supremacy does not change that I am still a beneficiary of these structures and therefore part of the oppressor class. My colleagues and friends in Gaza are struggling to survive a grotesque dystopian nightmare that is politically advanced by my government and financed by Canadians and other westerners. The same language imperialism used against Indigenous peoples is being used against Palestinians to silence their suffering and advocate the oppressors crimes. The Palestinians I know are refusing to submit. They are being killed and detained. They are facing horrendous abuses and threats of abuses while struggling to find food to eat. The issue is to starve them to make them revolutionize against Hamas. I believe they will not becuase the oppressor has shown for 70 plus years that their words are immaterial and they will never coexist with Palestinians.

In international law, nowhere does one find that the occupying force has the “right” to defend itself. Instead, it is explicitly written that an occupied nation has the right to fight by any means necessary for its freedom. United Nations Resolution 2621 XXV of December 12, 1970 affirms : “the inherent right of colonial peoples to fight by all necessary means against colonial powers which repress their aspiration for freedom and independence”.

Just citing this UN resolution is considered a so called „pro Hamas“ support and a „denial of the right to exist“ for Israel. While using this pseudo-logic the West is increasing the resistance making repression at home and the sending of weapons to Israel an insane spiral of violence and counter-violence. This is why the voice of reason that aim for peace have to prevail. Otherwise, this conflict will only become larger and larger.

Israeli authorities allegedly say they are not occupying powers. And contradictorily they say palestinians are not a people and don' t exist.And some zionists say Gaza is part of Egypt and that Israel doesn' t even controll its borders.They argue that Hamas is the government of Gaza do Israel does not occupy.That Golan Heights are theirs and the whole territories from hebrew times, 3 thousand years ago. “The people of South Africa will never forget the support of the state of Israel to the apartheid regime.” ~ Nelson Mandela on being released in 1990 In 1977, the United Nations passed a mandatory arms embargo against South Africa. Israel has repeatedly violated this mandate, equipping the white minority government with a number of weapons, including missiles, several kinds of aircraft, long-range missile boats and other lethal equipment. Israelis have also trained South African troops and provided advisers to the apartheid state in its military attacks against Angola.

It's interesting you bring up Fanon and anti-colonial struggles. Right now, Africans are being recruited to work in the helping professions (psychology, psychotherapy, social work, psychiatry). Dr. Alvin Poussaint may be the best-known Black psychiatrist. Poussaint was well-known and active in connection with the Cosby show. And there have been plenty of blacks who have been mental health technicians or associates. The situation with Africans, necessary labor (lower to middle-clsss) for America as Africans are assimilated into a world-system of increasing embourgoisesisment is mildly different. While Fanon took a 'radical' theoretic approach, these newer waves of African psych professionals are only a part of the further attempt to colonize minds and lives in the global carceral state. This sort of development would have interested people like Philip Rieff. It goes on completely under the radar.

Hello. Thanks for this video. Do you believe this same analysis of Fanon can be applied to New Caledonia and its recent attempt at autonomy/independence? Thanks!
@masoodraja4 ай бұрын
Thank you. I think it could be applied to any colonial situation. But I would recommend reading Fanon carefully to see how his work can be useful.

Thank you! I will read Fanons Books after this comment. It's very interesting to see it from the psychological side. From Germany I subscribe your channel and will look at your former videos.

How does this apply to neocolonialism, the situation where the colonizers have successfully imposed a power structure, institutions, infrastructure and laws, basically the invisible structure of colonialism, and handed the visible governance off to a buffer class within the native population, so that the colonial power structure now has a black or brown face?

Thank you. You can explore the channel. I have quite a few videos that explore the comprador class and the struggles of the post colonies. Please take a look at the Postcolonial Concepts playlist.

Thank you, this was my first experience with your messages/ channel. In closing you mentioned if policy makers in the US would read Fanon’s work…., I am afraid that the policy they follow has not changed since WW2, dominate and dictate. May be in the future we can see tolerance and only if the rest of the world resists just enough for the change to happen.
