True crime. Real justice. "48 Hours" investigates the most intriguing crime and justice cases that touch on all areas of the human experience including greed and passion. "48 Hours," which premiered in 1988, has developed a rich history of original reporting and impact journalism that has helped exonerate wrongly convicted people, caused cold cases to be reopened and solved, and along the way changed lives.

This! Gives me shivers to think back to some of the incredibly dangerous situations I put my self in. Iv hopped in cars with strangers and gone to parties miles from home, I once left a rave with a couple of drug dealers and went back with them, area I didn't know, didn't tell any one, hostage squad showed up 4 days later after the police tracked us from the club, I was 17. I was very lucky that in all instances I was treated with nothing but respect and kindness but could have been so different. I pray my children have more sense than I did back then. Terrifies me

As someone who partied a lot in my younger years, here is my two cents. Some ppl get very violent and aggressive when intoxicated. After a few drinks, the slightest thing will set them off. Its like Jerkyl and Hyde thing. The victim just ran into one of those guys. And the perps sh itty friends helped him cover it up. I have seen some of those types (men and womem) in my day and it can be a jaring experience. One minute you are having a good time, another minute they are picking a fight with the bartender, the bouncer or anyone. Thats why i dont hang out socially with ppl i dont know. And i avoid anyone who gets aggressive when drinking and try to exclude them from my social circles. Such ppl once drinking are a ticking time bombs. If it wasnt this poor guy, that dude would have eventually killed someone else intoxicated.

I wondered at first if the jeweler wanted someone to take over his business and legacy since he was childless…and tried to redeem a bad boy into a golden child, as it were. Since the jeweler might have been gay I thought that could be a possibility. However as this story wound on I slid more toward the belief that it was a way to cover up a relationship of a very different sort. I’m not sure that had any bearing on what happened to Joey other than the fact that these young men had way too much money and time on their hands and Joey was a little star struck by the invitation. Someone under the influence can definitely turn into a rage monster and instead of taking Joey to the hospital for injuries and going to jail for assault (and drugs) they made a horrible situation even worse. It's clear that they were in a sexual relationship as fake father and son, and it's also clear that he didn't provide much in improving his life as he clearly murdered someone. So it make sense that as an ex con, he would get triggered when asked what he brought to the table because it clearly isn't much except for being a murderer.

It’s victim blaming and thousands of women are blamed for their own rapes every year. I really hope this comment doesn’t come back to haunt you because as women we are especially vulnerable to being assaulted and blamed…… think about….. they even blamed Hollywood starlets……they’ll blame you and as you’re very likely to know your perpetrator. I urge you to stay safe and not to victim blame people. Everyone makes minor mistakes and none of what Joey did was equal to the death penalty, so he doesn’t deserve it at all.

Before going out, commit absolutely to not separating from the group. If the group splits into separate groups, each subgroup needs to continue that commitment. One person alone, especially if impaired a bit by alcohol or drugs, should NOT separate from the group. Never go with a seeming nice stranger. Sociopaths are masterful at mimicking or possessing personalities that can throw you off guard and render you too vulnerable and comfortable with them, only for them to suddenly foist nefarious actions upon you. One mistake can lead to your demise.
