What Happened to Disney Speedstorm's Season Tour?

The early chapters from Season Tour was a great change compared to Aladdin one, they gave more shards of several racers, the progression was fair and definitely rewards those who invest time on the game, as you say, something change on Chapter 5 and out of nowhere they bring required racers that no F2P player could have unless they pay, things got worse when they bring Midseason racers like Steamboat Pete. This change was too agressive and dont make any sense in terms of the season progression. This surprise me because this not only hurt F2P and new players, but simple everyone.

What would that change? The best rewards would be on Hard difficulty which is still a level check. The AI speed/amount of rubberbanding is tied directly to your character level - that's the main problem. But it's this way by design.

I started playing during the second week of this Frozen season and felt I was making good progress. If a Founder such as yourself doesn't have the characters/levels to do these races, there's no way for anyone new to catch up.

I started Aladdin halfway through. Aladdin was cool and looking forward to Frozen. Now it is a shame and disappointing. Especially that my younger nieces and nephews can't do this. These are children who cannot spend all their money and should not.

It sucks now. I’ve been playing since Season 3 and sad to say that I’m not very good. I had to pay real money for both Oswald and Steamboat Pete so that I could be able to get the tour duties that I wanted to get. I don’t mind grinding to level up characters but it’s hard when some of them are unviable either because you did your best in the timed event or because they haven’t released an easier way to get these characters. Believe me I don’t mind the grind if I had the opportunity. I thought they would have had an event for Steamboat Pete by now like they did for Mickey. Also like the video said I’m pretty much being punished for not leveling up a certain character. My Jarfar is at level 15 because I chose to use all my items for last season on Aladdin and Jasmine. The only thing I can say about what they did right this season is giving us extra upgrade parts. Thanks to that I have almost all of my Frozen Characters at level 30. Just need 1 more shard to get the last one up there. Also thanks to that I really don’t need any more red energy drinks because all of my characters are level 15 or above.

i started as completely free player in the Alladin season and i was able to complete almost everything in the Season Tour. Now in the Frozen season I got the Golden Pass and yet it seems like i will be locked out of a significant portion of the rewards.

Yeah, I start playing the game last Season, my current goal is to unlock all the Racers, I think I currently have 37 out of 45 Unlocked, Ortensia will be the 38th I Unlock, still have to get Stitch, Sully, Buzz, Belle, Daisy, Minnie and Steamboat Pete, however I am starting to struggle to complete the Chapters of the Season, all my Racers are too low a level currently and I don’t want to spend real Money (As are a lot of other Players honestly) doesn’t help the only way to get Tokens is to participate in Ranked and even then it only gets you so much

But yes I 100% Agree that character specific missions are annoying, its not my fault that just prefer to use my general favorite Disney characters, so i hope something changes real soon..

Can’t even complete a large chunk of the season tour because I don’t have certain characters or I don’t have certain characters leveled high enough to compete and thus cannot progress through the season because I can’t even unlock the rest of the races.

As someone who's been playing this game sine Season 1 and brought the Founder's Pack twice, it's really saddening that Gameloft is harming this game by focusing way too much on P2W. This route they're on is only going to drive newcomers away and make people quit if they continue this route. What's aggravating is that Gameloft can provide a balance between F2P and P2W; they see the feedback in the Disney Speedstorm Discord and social media. But nope, Gameloft is not only ignoring us for the most part but are also doubling down on trying to get people to spend hundreds of dollars into this game. This is unacceptable.

I wonder if technically we're getting the same amount of stuff overall as last season without being able to do the Oswald and other high level character nodes, considering we got a whole bunch of Mike, Beast, and other shards in the earlier season tour reward boxes. However, it's possible that we're getting fewer season tour box credits being locked behind level 30 Oswald, Jafar, Aladdin, etc. But no matter what the calculations above end up being, the newer system feels AWFUL.

I think we may be getting more season box tokens due to increased mission payout (it's weird for me to have like rank 57 now when there's still 20-something days to season end). Still, the season tour was the most fun part of Speedstorm and now it's the major source for irritation.

You just earned a subscriber, cause I TOTALLY agree with you. I have to level up Woody through the Ranked Multiplayer Mode JUST to get him at level 27, I have him currently at level 25. All of the other racers that I’ve played as since launch though, are at high levels. I have Mickey at 39, Shang at level 40, Jessie in the 30s, Buzz is at level 31, Captain Jack Sparrow at 27, Elizabeth Swann at level I THINK at 25 or 26.

Pretty accurate summary. I am a day one founder, I bought several founder packs. I've spent more than I care to admit since F2P launched. But I'm still locked out of an entire branch of the tree since I never for Jafar past 21. I even dropped some season coins to buy bread to level him up. Just kidding though because I need 18 shards to star him up to 3 to even have a shot at the race. I also had to drop a bunch of resources I was saving for Oswald just to get past the Angel node. It gets worse each season. They react to people leaving the game by raising prices to compensate instead of lowering them to try and retain people. Sometimes I wonder why I bother even turning the game on.

I am an Oswald main, and I think this is ridiculous to ask of people. I joined the game last season because I heard Oswald was being added to it and I'm a huge Oswald fan (and I've become a big fan of the game since joining). I've grinded all the way to diamond in ranked with him. I didn't get top 10 percent in the event but I got top 25, got all the shards from the objective challenges, and spent a decent amount of money on the unlock pack and shards, and I was barely at level 30 to complete the challenge. That's insane! You can't ask an entire community to have the same level of dedication to a character as someone who literally focuses most of their attention to that character specifically! This took me a lot of effort and a decent amount of cash, which not everyone can spare much of either for this one random challenge, especially if you're new and couldn't unlock him during the events, or don't really care about Oswald. P.S. It's even worse right now since even if you wanted to buy shards to get to a higher level, the main way to buy Oswald shards rat the moment is through a gacha box.

1000% The season tour needs to change. To be fair, I've been playing since day 1 (Founder's day if you will) and have spent a little bit of extra cash along the way. I've also done fairly well with the mid-season racers (which is also absolute horse pucky in their current state), so my roster is pretty well rounded out. Having said that - having especially non-current season specific racer events is bad form. Having character specific events featuring mid-season racers is an absolute slap in the face. If they want to have chapter stops with specific characters - they should be handled as a "guest racer" event open to everybody most likely in a regulated environment at the level of the current chapter. That would also introduce players to racers they may otherwise not have unlocked. Not to mention Oswald as a "last one standing" event - are you effing kidding me?! And much of this boils down to how Gameloft is handling Spendstorm as a F2P title. There are any number of F2P games that get it right (Path of Exile and Warframe come to mind as gold standards) - then there's this hot mess. I don't have an issue with a paid season track - effectively $5 / month is not a big ask for a game that continues to be supported with new content. I'm fine with that. But they way the push cash requests in front of players every time they log in just to keep up, is pretty much obscene. Its a shame too - since from a presentation and mechanics perspective - Spendstorm is a fantastic game that I'd love to see succeed. Based on where they're going now - I don't expect it will.

#1 no race in season tour should be recommended level 30 until chapter 10 if at all. #2 all races should be collection and not forced to a specific character. #3 a race should never require mid season characters that's just fucking stupid unless their giving us a free mid season character that is of level for that race

Agree 100%! I can't play this seson tour because I don't have many of the required racers and I can't get them. Even if I pay to unlock them, then I need to pay again to increase stars and be able to inrease levels. And I don't get pieces to train the characters either. I have Jafar, but I don't have any bread pieces to rise him 15 levels more. I wasn't able to get wall-e or oswald, and I'm only top 40% for hortensia. This season is very disappointing.

If they do fix these issues but they want still want some nodes to be harder to complete, they might have a class and collection requirement, like a Defender from the Frozen collection, so you have two options with Elsa and Kristoff, but it’s still pretty restrictive. Unfortunately I can see them doing this, for better or for worse.

THANK YOU! I thought it may have been just me. But in order to finish those later chapters, you really need to have a lot of racers at level 30. I'd say having them at level 15 or 25 is reasonable. Level 29 Jumba, Beast, Aladdin AND Angel??... That's just asking players to cut their losses and leave the game, IMHO. I've been playing the game almost every single day since F2P launch, and it's still going to take me about another week of racer boost to get those racers up to the recommended levels for those races...

This game could really learn a thing or two from Mario Kart Tour... MKT was obviously also a pay-to-win game, but it balanced the free-to-play aspects much better. You could still progress and get 70% of the tour items even without paying, as long as you played consistently. Disney Speedstorm, I have legitimately run out of fun things to do... The season requirements have completely surpassed what I have, and theres basically nothing left. Not to mention 'recommended level' is really 'required level' ... it has been proven that the CPU's reach unattainable speeds when you are under-leveled which just completely removes the idea of grinding out a race when you don't have all the requirements

I was one of the lucky ones that was able to complete chapter 8. I paid for 30 Oswald shards prior to getting him to Lv25 and grinding him to Diamond, so I was able to, with some hard work, get my Oswald to Lv35. My Jafar has been locked to Lv35 since Season 4 (with only one measley shard left to 4-Star). Despite all of this, I was still disgusted at the character requirements of the last few chapters as full completion is effectively locked behind a paywall. I don't think I want to know what chapters 9 and 10 will look like... I just want to go forward in time to the 30th of this month so I can just do Season 6.

I'm a new player, only since the later part of the Aladdin season, and I was still learning the basics of the points, how it worked with the season pass and rewards. I've missed out on a lot. I've been playing more often now since the new season started and I have to agree that aside from locking people out of certain parts, the microtransactions are very aggressive. I'll still continue to play because I really enjoy the characters and the customization, but I only play a little each day as opposed to a few hours. This is mostly due to the extreme aggressiveness of other players in MP, and it becomes unenjoyable after a short time. The game also has several tech issues that I've noted that need to be fixed.

I can say indeed that the ways the season tour had changed, it does lead to how people cannot be able to complete everything. Even last season I never got Mickey or Donald to lvl 35 at all and those were the only 2 events I never finished. All in all, it is forcing people to choose a specific character just to finish that objective which yes its wrong for f2p people who haven't spent money or those who spend money but didn't got the character yet. All in all, they gave us so much stuff that indeed we be already set for those who finished the golden pass if I am mistaken. Its a mix that yeah we gotta deal with it.

I honestly think they should do specific characters at the beginning since its low level so you don't need to invest/have no starts and slowly restrict the higher level so character specific beginning chapters specific theme pirates, mosnters inc ect specific role last chapter free/specific frozen characters and make sure the specific beginning characters get enough shards to unlock near the end so even begining plays will have a loop and have a reason to play the season tour so they can finish the specific low level missions. and this will not impact veterans in the slightest.

I can't even complete the races requiring Jafar and Aladdin. My Jasmine was at level 35 at the start of the season, so when they rolled out the new racer boost event, I still had no way to earn bread. This wouldn't be an issue if they actually reimbursed us for the changes to the ranked rewards as they promised at the beginning of the season. I only have one bread reward left in ranked between all of my Aladdin characters and my Jafar and Aladdin are at levels 20 and 22 respectively. Of course I'm also locked out of the rewards from behind the Oswald race along with the vast majority of the playerbase. It's getting harder and harder to keep logging in when the mentality I have each week when the new chapter releases is "wonder how they're gonna screw us this time"

If there will be a racer specific requirement, the majority should include the free racers: Mickey, Donald & Goofy. And midseason racers should never ever be included as a racer objective. If they want to utilize the midseason racers in a single player mode, they should make an optional midseason tour that gives free midseason racers shards. So, everyone can keep up.

1) Thanks for your video 2) Season Tour 9 and 10 will be the game changer for lots of players. A. Players leave the game or B. Gameloft actually listened and make things reasonable and fair and players stay. 3) I was able to complete tour 8 but on the other side 2 of my friends already left the game and another 2 of my friends consider to leave. Me and one of those friends are founders but things keep getting ridiculous hard. 4) Also LTEs should be more fair. I mean, without paying a good amount of bucks, I am not able to complete those (WALL-E or Ortensia) for example. What is this? 5) Why has the "starter or upgrade-kit" gone? For 1200 token you were able to receive 20 shards at the beginning of every characters career. But now, they have gone. Dang... :( 6) This game desperately needs new online game modes. Only ranked and regulated is not enough. They really should bring new and fresh modes. Sadly, ONRUSH failed back then but it had some really interesting things Speedstorm could adapt.

I’m a new player brought in by the Frozen characters and yeah, this is extremely scummy. I came in with the goal of only leveling up characters I want to play and despite the game being fairly great about spitting out the common upgrade materials, there’s no freaking way I’m going to have as many level 20-30 characters unless I want to dump several hundred bucks into the game. I’ve spent $100+ because I’ve genuinely had fun with the game, but requiring to dump money into the game just to access all of the nodes is so ridiculous. I’ll be playing the Frozen season to the end, but I’m not sure how much I’ll care to play daily once Frozen goes away

Honestly the whole character locked bull**** just makes me less inclined to play. I have been playing the game almost every day to get daily stuff. But it’s clear to me that the only players who benefit are the day 1 player. It’s a shame, because this game is better than Mario Kart 8 in alot of aspects, but the devs are just shooting themselves in the foot.

Gameloft locking so much of the Frozen season behind Oswald is really lame. I only have five of the ten shards required to get him, so I never finished a lot of the season. I tried chapter 10 today, and I couldn't progress beyond the first three racers since you need 300 stars JUST to do the fourth main race. And even the branching alt paths requite 280. Disgusting. The sad part is that the Little Mermaid season will likely be even worse. I'm expecting a required race with Level 30 WALL-E down the line.

The biggest insult for me was the Woody requirement as i only need about 5 shards for him and if you beat that mission the prize after it is...4 shards for Woody hahaha sod off

This is what happens when people buy transactions in a supposedly F2P game. Rather than get a one-off payment from an initial purchase of a game the developers get all their money from a dwindling minority of players willing to make multiple in-game payments or micro-transactions. It therefore follows that the developers should try to get more and more money from those potentially gullible individuals rather than prioritise gameplay for everyone else. You are their cash cow to milk. Thats presumably what people that pay into these games want because thats the gaming model they like, and they even pay money to support it.

this is sad becausee last season i was playing the game daily and when a new chapter came out i would play all but for this season after chapter 6 i stopped playing and overall skipping the chapters as if you dont have any of the needid character you dont get any rewards that you cant else where just stuff you can buy in the store with season credits

Yeah. This is pretty depressing. I usually enjoy fully completing the season tours but no, not this time. They can keep those boxes. About ready to move on. Don't get me wrong, i love the game but if this is where we're heading, I'm good. Granted, I really this is the testing of the waters of seeing how much they can push the community into spending real money to level up characters vs how much funding they receive from whales. Also, the classic "whoops, sorry, we scaled back the requirements and here's a few items as compensation" while the scale back is still worse than before but better in comparison to the current situation

For me, I agree I didn't know that I needed more shareds to get ozwald, and I was sad, just like with Pete. At least I had willy 😢 but really sad, I am just don't have money, so I am sadly not going to have ozwald or ortenzia nor wall-e

Yes ive been playing since the beginning and I enjoy playing it. But yes its getting so hard they are forcing us to waste money on shards. I think they should go back to how they were doing it. Also some of us are middle skilled players.

Did you already have 5 beforehand? Without more context, its possible you needed 5 to unlock him and the rest went towards the next star so it would say 5/20 when you got 10 shards from that.
