I've also been a long time fan of I See Stars, and honestly yeah. I agree with the identity loss. It isn't because Zack is out of the picture, or the production is hollow. It isn't because Devin's vox aren't on-par. It's because they, much like other bands in the scene at the time, were just kids back then. Exploring a new musical space and helped pioneer the genres we hear today. Losing touch with the very prominent synth elements that propped them up a decade ago is rough. But I hold out hope that they are just shaking off the rust. Even Attack Attack came back swinging with material everyone lost their minds about good or bad. Their follow-up material I think knocked it out of the park, so I trust ISS and their direction. As a long time artist myself taking years in between even thinking about making music, I couldn't relate more. Cheers from Ohio

Personally, I think Zack Johnson was the heart and soul of that band. Treehouse was great, sure. It was a little after my time. I was all about 3-D and Digital Renegade. But something was just never the same for me after they kicked Zack.

I kinda hate to say it, but I just don't think Devin is good on his own. I saw ISS 3 times back in the day, and Zack was the life of the party. He was a killer frontman. Devin, not so much.

to me, the new songs sound like I see stars took leftovers from tree house and made them slightly fresher, or they put out music that was supposed to come out 3 years ago... lol

See i think Anamoly is pretty good, except for the breakdown, it really needed a scream there. Drift I think was an experimental track. Its not my cup of tea exactly but they wanted to try something. Hopefully when their next album releases we'll get their good electronics and synths back.

To summarize, I see stars with missing their heavy metal aggressive side the used to have that Was one half their sound that complimented the electronic core. I fundamentally disagree with a lot of the stuff you put on your channel especially the alphabet mafia stuff. However I think you're take on this subject and this band is correct and informed

How about their chord progressions?, to me it sounds kinda predictable, throw in a chord or two that hits the soul, IMO, put those in and everything else could feel right, instead of empty.
