Hello I'm sorry for the some mispronounced words some mistakes in this video Like i- i said the story revolves around the Ramayana for the first film "Raja harishchandra "but it's actually inspired from Markandeya Purana not ramayana which I'm sorry I also mispronounced some words, like 'Pather Panchali', which i already put a disclaimer in the beginning but still sorry and used incorrect titles like 'Main Hoon Joker' instead of 'Mera Naam Joker', and 'Momento' instead of 'Memento'. Additionally, I referred to Rohit Shetty's 'Spy Universe' as 'Cop Universe'. I apologize for these errors, which were due to a tight deadline. I had only one week to read and research, one week to script, and one week to edit. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to double-check my mistakes. I promise to correct them in my next video. Thank you for watching, and I apologize again for any mistakes in this video if I missed.

P.S. - I have watched Iranian, French & other nationalities movies, International masala & art movies etc. I have read intellectual takes abt. them and never felt satisfied with any of them {found most of them to be too pretentious} though they helped me learn abt. noting nuances which i missed when i watched movied without any info. Also Indian movies used to have political ideological propaganda esp. since 60's {notice which political parties were overtly shown or which ideoological position movie portrayed as good}, 80's were high mark of 'Parallel cinema' & all this in 90's got replaced by romance, thriller-suspence etc. I don't see copying movies or art as wrong / bad as well but the issues of homogenity & stories becoming too formulayic are real but not limited to Indian cinema alone.

Sir Satyajit Ray's statement was so true because Indian cinema particularly Bollywood has no identity of its own, we can barely produce timeless pieces of cinema, we refuse to authentically connect with our true culture and past and it is sadly reflective of the mindset the masses possess, absolutely no will for introspection, no tolerance for criticism of the colonization induced morals we still uphold and seemingly no will to improve . Bollywood seriously needs to understand that the same cycle of mundane thrown in and out ideas won't cut it anymore especially now that more people have access to more foreign cinema. True creativity is never nurtured through trends

People are slowly but surely going to realize that the inception they have of liking the trending forms are not as important as real art forms, or perhaps, people who understand the intense situation of negativity reflected by modern content will likely spread this to other generations and it will slowly make it revolutionized. Comedian Jagdeep used to say that the cinema was the biggest classroom where fiction was used to embellish the fact and values were used to inspire virtue. Starting with the hollowness of the Garibi Hatao movement and its subsequent avatars of the Nav Nirman movement, the youth became self-indulgent and addicted to the quick fix of violence. So, the medium moved into the escapist domain of fantasy, where all problems were not resolved by the force of conviction of the character, but dissipation of a Dionysean orgy. The hero stopped being an epitome of virtue like Dharmendra, and instead became an embodiment of self-indulgence like Bachchan. O tempora, o mores ! The hero is not an embodiment of Apollo, but is an expression of Dionysius.

The apt question should be "What happened to Indian Audiance". Family audiance had completely ditched the theaters for other affordable forms of entertainment. 70% of theater audiance these days are teenagers and young adults mostly mens, they prefer action, hero elevation, item songs, stunts, boom baam like a circus. The rest are young females accompanying the males. Since the Target audiance Today is under 30 age men's, the product (cinema) has also changed. This same stuff is seen in USA aswell, these days only superhero or remakes of old franchises get funded in USA, everything else fails to work, Like satyajit said theater audiance are turning unsophisticated(again). There is no turning back, because the exact type of movies which excites you are available online for free ,theater is just for couples or fanbois now days i feel :(

There are still a few movies that do walk upon "the Satyajit Ray definition of flicks as an art form" trail. One of the biggest examples is All We Imagine Is Light, which was unfortunately not so well received in our own country. The bigger problem is interpretations of the audience, as Mr. Ray once firmly remarked that we have a fairly backward audience. It is very hard for them to watch and analyze a beautiful art piece. They are not able to comprehend a satire (they are certainly not going to enjoy Dr. Strangelove). It is often said that boredom leads to success... It is one of the key factors to make a person intellectual. Certainly, the mass audience does not want to get bored (they certainly won’t enjoy Tarkovsky’s work). Turning around a movie that shows the art of living a life is certainly the most blissful solution for those chaps, and I do not possess any doubt in my mind that large directors exploit their thoughts to imbue their pockets full of crunchy papers. I am not ridiculing any genre. Films like Psycho and Tumbbad are some of the finest examples of good films coming from the horror genre. They make perfect use of literary devices, and certainly give the audience a cavernous message. Satyajit Ray, too, delved within various other genres. I might get hated upon, but I shall speak with utter resilience that flicks like Pushpa, KGF, and Singham are in fact the biggest shame of Indian cinema.

Thanks dear 🙏🏻 for showing the mirror, without hesitation! The truth must me said, time and again, so maybe it gets absorbed in the back of the people's minds, even subconsciously. We have to admit that something is rotten, so we shouldn't consume it, It's poisoning our brains, minds and hearts. Thanks again. असेच meaningful videos बनवत रहा. तुला आमचा support आहे 🍀🌻

It's not Patthad Panchali, it is Poth er Pa(n)chali, where 'n' is silent and the 'Pa' in Panchali makes nasal sound. The meaning of the title is: The tales of the road

Ghajini is not a copy of memento, memento is a masterpiece which cannot be recreated in our cinema. The concept was only inspired but the story and the basic drive of the plot is totally different. We should always remember that art is always inspiring someone's masterpiece, but we cannot say that it is copied until unless it is just copy pasted the way it was inspired from.

I completely disagree with your point. Parallel cinema can always be a mass movie without using elements like movie songs, too much background music etc. These directors never chose a very good massy story, they always chose looks and story that bores normal audience. The director saying that the audience is backwards is so STUPID. It's like that Shopkeeper that keeps selling Jaggery when the demand is of sugar. Then there is another shopkeeper who makes jaggery but sells it as an Healthier version of Sugar. It's just Director's lack of Creativity.
