the book synopsis was so funny and confusing, when you said his grandpa's name is pennywise i died laughing

Me too! I was dying laughing. I don’t really read YA books but this one sounds so crazy I might just have to give it a shot.

i think we need Bookmas - a month in the year where you give us book recommendations, book synopsis or book stories - they are great and i was on the edge of my seat for the bad book review!

I've been watching all your old vlogs from the beginning (because I miss daily vlogs), and I just want to say the natural hair, makeup, and no fake tan are just gorgeous on you. No hate! I love this Kiki era!

Was really hoping to see your eyeshadow routine 😂 I'm always obsessed with your eye makeup on your main channel ❤ I think with books that you used to love, they were probably the right read for you, at that time in your life. As you get older and have more experience you appreciate different things. I sometimes re-read for nostalgia -is it the best book ever? Probably not, but I loved it and it became a part of who I am. 🥰📚

I read that book and remember it being SO unhinged! Hearing you recount it has me busting up laughing 😂😂

lol pennywise?! That book sounded like a wild ride. I don’t know if you have tried the powerless series. It’s a spice free fantasy and I enjoyed the series so far.

Stick to thrillers and avoid anything that any of the tik tok girlies recommend. There are sooooo many great books out there. I think I’ve read over 80 books so far this year. I agree the spice is SO cringe!
@FA-dv5heАй бұрын
Now that I'm older, I can see the cringe factor in things. The same thing happened to me when I read old books and realized how unrealistic they were.
@heyitsquicheАй бұрын
I read a book with a very similar storyline of two people meeting online and then finally meeting. BUT it was actually a great cohesive storyline and no spice! It was such a cute story, totally recommend. The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren. It's also a short story, so it's a great easy read. ❤

I remember you recommending this book Alex Approximately and still haven't read it! Good to know it's changed - old movies, who cares for sure 🎥Thanks for the updated review! 📘😄

My favorite romance easy reads are by Linda Chaikin, she's Christian and even if you're not Christian, if you don’t like the super spicy books then you'll enjoy Mondays Child, Tuesdays Child, Fridays Child, etc. They've got mystery, interesting stories, and the main characters are smart women who aren't annoying. Gotta love it.

Maybe you should read cozy murders. The Thursday murder club by Richard Osman, is fun.

You should read Cahterine Cowels. True crime but mild spice and swoony small-town details.

It's been a while but I really loved the book Delirium. The concept isn't super unique to dystopian YA novels but the way it is integrated is really interesting. I've been thinking I'd like to pick that book up again and re-read it. When you were detailing the plot of the book you read and saying you couldn't remember some of these weird details like the roller derby stuff and the surfing stuff I wondered if maybe you read a book with a very similar title that was also YA? Not really doubting you but I'm just wondering because it does seem weird that you would have liked a book like that when it's so different from what you like now. 😂

I feel like you may have aged out of YA books? Sometimes they can be a bit more soapy or outrageous. You can definitely find some no spice/low spice adult romances, but you may need to do extra searching. You also might just be wanting regular fiction? Whatever is normally branded as “women’s” fiction or “chick” lit would have the fluff/easieness, without the cringe-factor. If you specify what types of things you like to read in your books, I’m sure we could crowd source some good options!
@hillaryberg6771Ай бұрын
Recent books that I enjoyed that you might enjoy. “28 Summer” by Elin Hilderbrand “Expiration Dates” by Rebecca Serle “Elsewhere” by Gabrielle Zevin (YA) “Twelfth Knight” by Alexene Farol Follmuth (YA and the girl is an online gamer! LOVED) “The Husbands” by Holly Gramazio (woman has an attic that changes out her husbands) “Even if This Love Disappears Tonight” by Ichijo Misaki (Girl dates a boy but her memory resets every day a la 50 first dates “Love and Other Words” by Christina Lauren “The Bodyguard” by Katherine Center

For book reading I’m with you I’m into Dean Koontz, Peter Straub, Michael Marshal, Stephen King, Peter James. Love the psychological thrillers, at least for me. I had so many friends shocked that I hadn’t read 50 shades of Gray? My very close friends never bothered to ask because they knew how I hated to see them rotting their brains on stupid romance novels.

I prefer the emotional connection over the smut which is hard to find. YA I can enjoy but sometimes I just want something more mature so I started reading historical romance and it's been good just sometimes they are a little too churchy. I started this Nora Robert series years ago that has like 60+ books so far and I like the series but just skip the smut parts. How many times can I listen to a graphic description of the same married couple banging jfc

I just reread the entire twilight saga from beginning to end for the first time since I was 15... I almost died. I'm 30 and I tell now that Jacob black is effectively assaulting Bella every single time they kiss. And Edward is as bland as a saltine. I was flabbergasted.
