"It's okay to be white" (IOTBW) is an alt-right slogan which originated as part of an organized trolling campaign on the website 4chan's discussion board /pol/ in 2017. A /pol/ user described it as a proof of concept that an otherwise innocuous message could be used maliciously to spark media backlash. Posters and stickers stating "It's okay to be white" were placed in streets in the United States as well as on campuses in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

This story is truly sad. People on Twitter are cruel for telling him to stop complaining when he is mega rich. Life is only worth living when you have loved ones, a family, and a passion to keep you busy. You can have all the money in the world and still be unhappy. It's not hard to understand.

@lydiasteinebendiksen4269 Жыл бұрын
"people on twitter are cruel..." yes, yes they are, even cool people can act like assholes on twitter, though some are notably worse than other and cross certain lines. As for the money thing. The issue is the selfishness and tonelessness of having those kinds of riches, spending everything on oneself and ignoring all the suffering in the world, even taking a piss at some of it, only to then cry about how sad and unfulfilling his life is. Like yeah, spend the immense amount of power amd wealth you have to improve someones lives, it's not like you spend every waking hour working or recouperating from work, stressing about how you'll pay rent despite working full time and occasionally overtime. Notch doesn't need to be unfulfilled, he can stop being an asshole and get somewhere, but since he insists and likewised feels entitled to having ungodly amounts of money that no single person can ever spend rather than helping people, he might not feel great, honestly that's good, if being a dick and stockpiling wealth felt good... well honestly I think a lot of the worlds issues exist because too many people feel like that.

The slogan was coined by literal white supremacists. The opposite claim, that it's not ok, is a position held by (virtually) no-one. However, white supremacists have long loudly claimed that their opposition believes that; they use this to stir up public fear against their opposition. This slogan in particular is designed to "prove" its own implication. People who see it for what it is-- a white supremacist dog-whistle-- understandably get upset with it. People not in-the-know just see people getting upset at what seems to be an innocent claim, and assume those angry at it disagree with it at face-value; thus serving the white supremacists' goals

It's funny how everyone justifies their hate for the guy by calling him racist, while they're blasting him for saying this, which is far more racist than anything he has said himself. Covering his tweets about him having nothing to do and people’s responses, I don’t think a lot of people realize what idleness does to a person. Once you get everything you want, become rich, have nothing to commit too, your life becomes static. Us as humans are social creatures, and on the inside we want to be working towards something. Having nothing to work towards can easily lead to depression
@MarfansGoth9 ай бұрын
He could've done so many things tho. He's part of the 1%, he has more money than the vast majority of people can even imagine. The only thing holding him back from pursuing his passions or working towards a goal is himself. With that sort of money not only could he continue doing what he loves like making games, but he could improve the lives of thousands of other people: he could create a non profit to help homeless people, donate to important cancer research, get involved in politics and try to make social progress (tho he's apparently super right wing so fat chance he would actually help anybody but other rich ppl). There's so many things he COULD be doing, he just doesn't want to. Yes suddenly becoming rich could 100% lead to you feeling purposeless or apathetic, but after you're that disgustingly rich you are more than capable of fixing that problem.
