@@joeyscleaninglady2877 That's easy to say but, Ed wont because he was just the salesman looking to make his sales, the manager/gm wont because they are a dealership with a 6 digit cars that need to be sold, and Lamborghini wont because they dont want to fix every car if its not life threatening, or affecting most vehicles. It's a bad situation for everyone, especially the customer. The only people that didnt do their job properly was the engineers and bean counters budgeting the build cost.

In 1992 I was a tech at the Ferrari dealer in Seattle. There were problems with the Ferrari 348TS's leaking in the rain, or in a car wash. Of course, rain is not a problem in Seattle, right? I was the lone tech sent to the training center in L.A. to learn how to fix this problem, which ended up actually being an upgrade on the entire car, because of all the other flaws in the 348 model. After the recall went out, these cars just piled into the dealership all at once, and my boss refused to pay overtime, so I went from working on project cars to an all-out 8-5 thrash. I had the cars of the 3 of the richest guys in the world lined up all overdue for this recall,(17 flat rate hours) with 'their people' calling at all hours of the day asking to pickup the cars. No pressure. Eventually I did 18 of these recalls. I am so glad that is behind me!

That's typical for a boss that doesn't "grasp the concept" of what product he's representing, and WHO is buying it. Applies to a lot of businesses. I had a "boutique" moving company and a LOCK on some high end repeat clients (who all knew each other). You bring you best soldiers, you make sure the have the best equipment and conditions, and you pay them accordingly. A lot of bosses? Hard for them to wrap their head around.

@@HerecomestheCalavera That depends on if he was using his personal insurance (which I doubt) or the insurance of Lamborghini Atlanta (much more likely). If it's the latter, he's not defrauding them because since the car is (at that point) going to be be going in for service, it is temporarily property of Lamborghini Atlanta.

This channel has been very interesting for many reasons. As I listen to the stories one thing is abundantly clear. Many of the super car brands are super high maintenance and super unpredictable. From simple stuff (battery staying charged ) to quick burn clutches it is clear to me that a non 1% income earner should never attempt to own a car like this even if it is a great deal on a used model. My goodness I did not realize that it was that bad. I am grateful for real world information. I was seriously looking at a Lotus Evora 400. Not anymore. Not a super car but not cheap either. Love the stories even when they make my gut tight as I imagine myself in these situations.

This reminded me of the time my car's clutch started slipping, after VERY few miles. Took it to the dealership, they gave me some story about how it was an oil seal fail and fixed it free of charge. Three thousand miles later, the same thing happened. Both times, the guys there made it seem as if it was a one-off, only my car was affected. The third time it happened (and I'm getting suspicious now) I was in the office discussing this failure when a guy came in from the shop floor and, on overhearing the conversation, said "Oh we've had a lot of this model with the same fault." You could have cut the air with a knife.

Sounds Familiar. I had something similar happen when a rabbit decided to eat to eat the wiring harnesses of my brand new car. The salesman never heard of anything like this happing and seamed very puzzled. When I googled “wiring harness, cars and animals eating” I came up with so many articles and it turns out it an industry problem because the moved to soy based insulation instead of the “evil” oil based insulation. Needless to say when I asked the mechanic about it, he told me they usually get two or three in a month that need new wire harnesses. Turns out they already had a solution to fix the problem and had I know about the problem I would have had them fix it. So the moral of Ed’s story never trust a car salesmen. I guess we already knew that but it needs repeating.

I had a boss that is just like Ed, as calm as he looks like you REALLY don't want to answer "I can't do it" to them...

Ed your customer service is outstanding! Very few people would go the extra mile, maybe that’s why you’re so successful (among other things).

That’s it. This guy needs a 3hr daily show!! ASAP. I have yet to find a video with this guy in it that is not interesting. It might be the voice but it locks me into the video. Guaranteed videos about this guys stories have a 100% watch time.

I’d ordered a new Cayenne Turbo S that couldn’t be delivered on time because not only had it failed to pass State inspection but had myriad check engine messages - everything from the air suspension to modules controlling the transmission and differentials. I sat inside of it momentarily to thank it for revealing itself so early in the relationship - then promptly cancelled the sale and bought a new GMC Denali XL; which served us faithfully; including leaving on a 3mo vacation throughout Canada and Alaska as well as every National Park we could work in; departing with only 1,700mi and returning with 21,000. We were homeschooling our daughters and teaching them geography at the time; allowing them to weigh in and help plot our path and destinations. It was an amazing experience for all of us.

I’ll never have the money to own the cars you discuss on your posts but these stories are great. Being a Jeep Wrangler guy that I am do you have any fun stories on jeeps. Keep these posts coming.
