Technically Hades' Soul was only absorbed into the Claws themselves, instead of into Kratos, but essentially yes, it does confirm that Olympian gods do have some form of soul, even if some of the gods are either seemingly unaware of this fact, or only some are powerful enough to manifest and control that form, like Zeus.

Makes sense. Most of the gods in Greece didn't seem aware of the ability to manifest their soul after death, with only Zeus and Athena achieving some form or another of it. It especially makes sense for Zeus, since now the parallels of the concept of the fear of prophesied death led them both to try and hault or flat out avoid said death.

It could be argued that Ares’s body was able to be retrieved since Kratos captured his soul after it had been dissipated. And just as Kratos was able to retrieve Ares’s souls, he was able to retrieve Ares’s body too.

​@@abdbayTo go further off of this, it's possible that the reason why Ares' body was still intact even after releasing all the energy of his soul, is because Ares had somehow learned the same ability that Zeus had learned, which was the ability to manifest his soul freely and under his own control after death. Zeus exploded into storms of lightning, whereas Ares exploded in Fire, both of which are the elements that represent them each. Yet both their bodies remained. For Zeus it was only the first time he died, until Kratos beat and weakened his soul form and forcing him back into his body so he could truly destroy him (a hint from Ares in God of War 1, but more literally this time), presumably also destroying Zeus' body this time to ensure his final death. Ares could have learned of the ability by working together with the Furies, beings of comparable strength and cosmic power to the Primordials since they are born from the blood of them, therefore they would have vast amounts of knowledge of the bigger truth to existence, like what Odin was trying but failing to fully achieve. Regardless of how much the Furies actually know of all of existence, they would probably know enough to be able to tell Ares how he might avoid death in a pinch, but ultimately he was unable to properly manifest his soul under his own control it seems. After all, the Sisters of Fate are the only ones who had final say over what happened to each living being when their time was up, and Zeus alone held favor and sway over the Fates themselves. The Fates literally controlled (or rather allowed due to their own hubris) Kratos to kill Ares, and if Ares was arrogant enough to try and preserve his own soul past it's intended time according to their will, then they might as well give him what he wants. Hence, they allow Ares to keep his soul, but ultimately they control it, keeping it locked up without anyone's knowledge but Kratos, not even Zeus. That can't be a coincidence considering the Fates took great interest in Kratos as well as didn't want Ares to succeed because he would threaten everything the Fates allowed to happen up until that point, and allowing Kratos to be the new God of War in Ares' place by Zeus' request. They allowed Kratos to have everything he had. His powers, his abilities, his weapons, even the Blades of Chaos he swore he wouldn't use again, and now even Ares' Soul as a trophy. Now of course, for all we know all that power could be inside the Blade of Olympus. If anyone wanted to potentially gain control of (or free) Ares' Soul, one might only need to find the Blade and use it as a sort of key to free Ares from confinement, since the Fates are now dead and can't control his soul once it is freed. Just a fun thought I had, but now I really hope this is true or that they confirm something similar to this lol.

I wanted to say the weapons thing the mágic is bound to the earth is not neccesarly true Sincé kratos used the boots of hermes being in Egypt The weapons could've still worked because remember greece got destroyed but the blade of Olympus was still working so the other weapons could've worked as well since greece was already destroyed they still worked when kratos was facing Zeus And the magic they talk about is the one he gained by the Olympians and the titans and those are what wouldnt have worked but not to mention they we're absorbed or taken In GOW2 by the blade and in GOW3 by falling into the rivers of styx because after words kratos did only gain weapons and items with power of their own because rememver greece was already destroyed when kratos was fighting Zeus

This actually makes me think that the whole "magic being tied to the earth" thing might only apply to how magic works in their lands. Greece and the Nine Realms seem very different in terms of type and distribution of magic and power. Kratos might have just assumed Freya was right in her assumption as to why he couldn't call upon the power, but in reality it was just because he lost access to that power due to other reasons, like you said.

​@@belikovdimitri2251with their home destroyed, I like to imagine those things, among anything else tenacious enough to survive all the damage and destruction except for the mortals, all went out to different lands, possibly having influence in other mythologies around the world. Real world ancient mythologies do sometimes tend to have some similar or crossed over connections and references, and in the games we even see this using Mimir as another example, being from another land but venturing out while still alive and having great influence in the events of that new mythology, similar to Kratos himself.

The titans didn't die, their souls/essence are bound to Tartarus so it's likely that Helios was bound to Tartarus. Also when titans where defeated there physical form normally embodies their aspect. Chronos became time itself, Atlas literally is what holds up the earth and heavens and Uranus became the sky. So while Greece was plunged into darkness after Helios death, it's likely one day his body will literally become the sun.

But you missed some points First we see in 2018 game that greece is being rebuilt Second kratos chamber as the god of war in olympus is not exclusive to him as we can see from the novels that hermes suddenly enters athena chamber in olympus so it's not exclusive and just like as kratos we enter many chambers like Aphrodite's i believe other gods can also enter kratos chamber just like athena also in the beginning of god of war 2 which we see that kratos didn't like her absence there so if there was a way he wouldn't want her in he would have used that way .and yes kratos can be like this when he is angry and dosent want her presence just like in ghost of sparta he destroyed her statue when he knew she was there later that night when she and ares kidnapped his brother Great video tho ❤✊

Yes, but the chamber in which Ares was held and tortured was only accessible to Kratos. Listen to what Kratos says in the Easter egg, he says that only he can penetrate the chamber.

​@@ahmadbaalbaki6711if we assume the voice recording is a canon event, another explanation could be that while other gods are able to access certain chambers in another god's personal dwellings, they might not have access to all chambers or certain sections of the chamber. Kratos seemingly gives us a tour of everything else, and giving us sole privilege of glimpsing at the one secret he knows that no one else, not even Zeus himself, knows. Again, this is assuming it is canon, but even if it's not, it might be possible for them to explain it and make it make sense to make it canon in the future if they want.

I wanna say it was confirmed by someone in the development team that Hades' soul was actually destroyed by Zeus along with all the magic in all of Kratos' gear and weapons, the only things surviving being the Blade of Olympus and the new Blades of Exile that Athena gave him, presumably just for that occasion. Zeus' Astral Form was literally just that powerful, which speaks even more to Athena's potential power when you consider the Blades she made were able to survive full powered Zeus.

This, I believe, is a topic that was cleared up by someone in the development team of God of War 3, and it was confirmed that Zeus' Astral form in the final fight was powerful enough to completely destroy Hades' Soul, since Zeus didn't discriminate in destroying all the magic from all of Kratos's gear and weapons. If it couldn't be physically broken, it was magically broken. Everything Kratos had was drained of all magic, unfortunately for Hades this included his own soul within the Claws of Hades.
