In my mindfulness training, I was taught that you needed to accept whatever the yucky stuff was which I could not accept the rape or the molestation.You're not saying to accept the trauma.You're saying to accept the feeling that comes when you think about it. Thank you for clarifying that.

I've been using sleep and watching TV to not think and not feel. I'm so thankful for you. I'm learning. I'm feeling. I'm letting go. I'm growing, even if no one sees it. God sees it. He's showing me the way. ❤

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us Dr Cloud. Many years ago I was in a car accident and I didn't deal with it in a healthy way. Over time I started to be so afraid of driving anywhere. I didn't even want to drive one mile away from home.I'm thankful that with God's help and counseling I'm doing so much better. Praise God 🙏

Sorry to hear what you're going through. This sounds a bit like a trauma bond, or co-dependence. Have you considered therapy for yourself?

@@isildarodrigues5138 Thank you for the update, Isilda. I do hope - for both your sakes - that he is seeing a good therapist. Panic attacks are horrible, but you cannot give from an empty cup and if he becomes too dependent on you then you will also become unwell. I wish you both the very best with your current troubles and healing work. God bless. ❤🩹🙏🙏

Dr. Henry Cloud, I wish could see a Psychologist like you. You really know how to help people. I believe you would understand me if were to see you in person for an appointment. Ive been to numerous therapist 's over the years and only a few understand a little bit of how I feel. Ive even told that I make excuses by a so called therapist. I have extreme anxiety, feel anxious, I am very emotional and feel very sad, and dealing with grief and etc.etc. I'm still trying to learn coping skills from my therapist. All Ive been told is how to breathe to calm down and walk and have positive thoughts. I Know These Are Not Coping Skills! No one seems to know how to help me. Can you give me coping skills? Ive felt like I shouldn't be here anymore. I feel hopeless.

Spiritually speaking, if fear is not of God, does embracing/accepting it kind of "endorse" it? I hope I'm not being too religious but I somehow am feeling the need to incorporate Biblical truth with this technique, as Henry is always SO good at. Anybody have a verse that would fit the bill? Maybe "taking each thought captive"? Yup, that's it! Now I gotta learn to sit with my fear of not following biblical principle. I guess that would be GRACE;)
@monaperry26358 ай бұрын
Yup, I agree with taking thoughts captive and putting them under submission to Yeshua. Fear is an emotion that is produced by thoughts and memories of negative experiences that are stored in our brains. We are to sit with the discomfort of the feeling of fear. Recognize, acknowledge, accept the feeling and after that you can dismantle it link by link.

Look at it as praying for your enemy. It doesn’t have any power but what you give it.

I think just acknowledging that God knows what you’re going through and he cares about how you’re feeling. Then meditating on Phil 4:6.

So my baby has eczema on her face. When she starts scratching my anxiety goes through the roof. If I let it be she starts to bleed and it would be neglectful. How do I manage this type of anxiety?
@TheHeartGuardener8 ай бұрын
You prevent baby from scratching AND feel your feelings.

Mitts or gloves on hands might be ok sometimes. Also a tiny bit of Vaseline will ease itching. I'm sorry for baby as I get eczema and it sucks. Good luck with this.
