Even after i quit skating for 13 plus years, i would always look at spots tht would b amazing to skate. Im back into skating thanks to the nine club n my son. But even when i quit, id always be watching skate videos on youtube. Ive actually watched more skating than I did when i was skating. Thank the internet for tht,lol Even when you quit skating skating doesn't quit you , ive traveled to soooo many places because of skating. Ny city, Brooklyn banks n the iconic pyramid ledge in nyc ( Doesn't do it justice it's beyond crusty) love park, Pulaski in Dc. Im from maryland, so i was pretty fortunate to be in the goldy locks zone of all these iconic skate spots tht were within driving distance.

Just wanted to add that this is my same story as well. Skated a ton when I was younger, mostly transition, but stopped when I was around 17. I started skating again about once every week or two when I was 25 and got back to around the same skill level in a year or so. Once quarantine hit I started skating every day and haven’t stopped since. I spent almost two months straight learning tre flips and I have them consistently now. Just wish I had more people to skate with.

This basically happened to me except I stopped skating in my 20's. Now I'm 34. The only reason I started up again was because my quarantine routine was driving me insane. Go to work, Go home. Isolation. Needless to say, I needed to get out of my house and do something active or I was gonna breakdown. Skating is so therapeutic for me; even if I'm skating alone. I feel happy just being outside, learning new tricks, its' helped me keep my sanity throughout covid. 10 months in and I think I'm better than I ever was when I was younger. 🙌 So yeah, don't

So Im 30 years old now and I just bought a new board and I have been teaching them how to skate for the past 2 months and reteaching myself as well. The love of skating never left me either, but seeing my kids getting into it at the ages of 11 and 9 is so fucking awesome and skating with them is cool as hell. They are my new skate crew.....and to be honest im probably the only adult in my area that skates lol so if anyone wants a 30 year old skating friend and wants a skate session lol hit me up....LOVE the video man, this just inspires me even more to continue to relearn how to skate and pass it on to my kids. I quit for 15 years. Bought a skateboard two days before my 30th birthday right after the pandemic started and since then I’ve been skating at least 2-3 times a week. I hope you come back to Vegas soon and skate Craig ranch again. That’s where I’m usually at.

I did quit in 2002, started again in 2018 at age 31. Broke my foot learning fs shove it's, bashed my hip, now I got a bad knee.... Totally worth it.

I quit for 32 years ... combined with effects of a desk job, 1/2 hr skate now equals a few days aches n pain. But I'm approaching it like gym ... do the work, heal, do more work ...

a prodigy is a prodigy, but for the rest of us lesser mortals, that skill and muscle memory dissipates. in hitting the park today for the first time in years, stoked to see what i can still push out, and get it all back.

i quit for about 3ish years...or was only on a board like once a month. and when i got back on it, my progression was insane in comparison to prior to the break. it got me excited again and even gained confidence by exploring it in other areas during that break, the transfer of mentality was quick

Also back on the board after 15 years. Just having the confidence and experience of life after 15 years helped me progress exponentially after only 18 months back into skating (i guess the internet also helped giving exposure with whats happening in skating across the globe). That being said, much better skill level being back on the board for 18 months compared to 6 years as a skater kid 👌🏻

I just started skating again after a 28 year break, it doesn't help that I was never a great skater to begin with. Add my age and weight, now I have a challenge ahead of me!! I am trying to video as much of my progress as possible, though it's only been 3 weeks now!

I stopped skating for 6 years and while I was presently surprised with how easy it was to get back into it, there's no way in hell I will ever be as good as that 14 year old shredder; and I'm okay with it.

I skated for 17 years 1998-2015. Just started skating again at 39. I’ve only had 5 sessions since I’ve been back and have landed: Ollie, kickflip, pop shuv, FS shuv, Nollie pop shuv, nollie FS shuv, FS 180, BS 180 and dropped in on a 5ft quarter pipe a couple of times. It’s slowly coming back. Took me 5 sessions to land anything more than an Ollie and FS 180. I was getting nollie flips and switch flips to flip but couldn’t get the catch. I’m hoping those are coming next

Same thing happened to me... our skate park closed and living in a small town we constantly got kicked out of lots and off the few small stair sets we had to skate, and on top of not having a spot I got pretty bad into drugs.. lasted until I was 25 then finally turned my life around. I'm gonna be 30 this year, and I just bought a new deck to skate when the snow breaks. Been having the itch for too long now, and I honestly can't wait to get back into it.

I would love to come skate with y'all. I quit 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa. Legally Blind now (not fully, yes there's a difference) I could eventually lose my sight but I'm back on a board and want to keep skating until I do end up going blind. Definitely more difficult with limited sight but I'll manage until I can't. Skater For Life 💪 😎
