You're probably gonna laugh at me but you're probably right. I wanted and really wanted to start smoking bcz all my neighbours around me smoke and they have a great time (including me) after we finish helping them on their field work But yea, they all smoke and they're all like: 'Ugh this feeling of smoking after a good work." So I tried and tried and tried for few years now (basically buying a pack of cigarette every 2nd or 3rd month) and I smoked 'artificially' because I did not like it and everytime I get either numb or I wanna throw up (feeling nausea). I still sometimes ask someone to give a cigarette just to try but I always feel nauseous. That is preventing me from starting smoking. I probably wasted 100 $ just trying to smoke, never enjoying it. I do train and run, so maybe my lungs don't accept tar and nicotine, can't say.

Gon Freecss It must be hard for you to quit when everyone around is smoking but using vapes also introduce you to usinhlg cigar smoking in the long run. It would be a good idea to tell everyone around you that you've experience difficulty breathing as an alibi. If they really care then they wouldn't tell you to do smoking. I am not a doctor btw, however try to lessen the use of artificial smoking. It'll help you quitting and you'll avoid the withdrawal effects of it.

@@vanjajaic6691 So glad to hear you succeeded and thanks for the recent update. Congratulations! A lot of the sites are over a decade old. I was a heavy smoker - 3 packs - and managed to quit for 12 years. All it took was ONE cigarette during a stressful time and I was back to smoking for the next 14 years. I just read Allen Carr's book and found it inspiring. I'm in my second day of cold turkey and it's not too bad. He's right, I think, about it being mostly in the mind. He says it's the fear factor for most people. Best wishes for everyone making the decision to be free.

The worst part about quitting for me was the feeling of loss. Like a part a part of my being was gone and i had nothing to replace it with. I feared this feeling would last for ever. I have good news for you trying to quit, the feeling doesn't last forever. A day will come when you go to bed and notice you haven't thought about smoking the whole day and you don't feel empty inside. When this day arrived for me i just laughed abit to my self and thought, "Huh, guess i'm not a smoker anymore".

@@brunoderkameramann3989 I used to envy my friends who never smoked that they didn't have the craving for a cigarette. But then I thought that they don't have a craving for it as I do not have a craving for heroine for example, I'm sure there are addicts out there envying me for that. That thought helped me battling the cravings when they arrived and they eventually disappeared, but sometimes the thought of "let's just have ONE for the party" comes in. Don't do it!

Congrats! I'm really happy for you that your wife decided to help you. I always admire those who beat their addiction. Knowing it's possible to fix your life knowing there's people out there that have done what I thought was impossible gives me hope I will make it through as well. Those who share their experiences don't know how much it helps when you're about to give up, it gives you the strength knowing somone who actully know what it's like to go through this tell you it's possible, it's not the same somone telling you you can do it when they have no idea what it's like, but hearing somone who knows what it's like that helps a lot since you understand it firsthand and made it out gives so much hope. so thanks for sharing.

I started smoking when I was 18 and im 26 now. I was a pack a day guy. It's been a month since i quit. I had been trying to quit for a year because the negative effects had begun to take its toll on me. I resorted to eating a lot of food especially sweets to cope with withdrawal symptoms for the first two weeks. Then it got better but i still get strong urges to smoke occasionally. Smoking's been a big part of my adult life and i guess a cigarette's been there with me through every lows and highs of my life, even more than people. I just think quiting is so difficult not only due to the physical and chemical addiction but also because you build an emotional bond with it over time. Im gonna stay mentally strong and remember to take this one day at a time. Whoever is reading this, My Friend, If you're trying to quit, stay strong and keep your head up because the positives immensely outweigh the negatives.

Keep it up, I try to deal with the cravings by having energy drinks (sugar free), coffee, and chocolates. It's hard but it's in the head. Join the gym, eat tasty food, play video games or watch reels. Just to feel that dopamine rush the first few weeks are going to be hard but it's worth it.

I smoked for 25-30 years. I got sick and didn't want to smoke. When I got better I didn't want to smoke. About 5-6 years later I had what i call "my female" trouble. Mother-in-law, e-wife and female step daughter. All at once. I started smoking again. Another 2 years later got sick again and stopped smoking. Now it's been 25 years since I smoked. Haven't been sick and got away from the rest!! :) I'm so glad I quit for good. It's amazing how much of your life is wasted because you're looking for them or having to stop everything to go outside to smoke. Waiting anxiously to get somewhere that you can smoke. So, So glad i don't anymore. Not to mention the cost ! Yikes!!

I started at 17. My then boyfriend made me try it and get on it. I smoked for 10 years and now I'm smoke free for 8 years! But in those 10 years I tried to quit at least a hundred times. So just don't blame yourself if you couldn't do it. Don't fall in that pit of self-shaming. We are human, it happens it's absolutely normal. 🙄 I quit for a week then I started again. 🙄 I quit for 2 weeks then started again. 🙄 2 days, then back to smoke! 🙄 I quit for 2 months. Then again smoking. 🙄 I quit even for 8 months!! and then I smoked again! Just never give up trying. Even if you are 100 years old... Even if nobody believes in you, that you can do it... Only YOU can do it. You are capable to do that. Don't punish yourself, love yourself, compliment yourself. Even if it's just some hours without cigarettes... YOU did it. Wish you all the best! It IS possible.

Hi! I quit smoking for 3 weeks now, the second time in my life. First time, I quit smoking for 9 months, I got back at it by smoking e-cig then rolling cig after. This time, I quitted for my daughter. I feel so much better breathing and less tired when I walk or run to the bus. I’m quite proud, I felt like I did not need it. So I stopped smoking. I did not have much cravings just 2-3 days later after I stopped smoking. Cheers to everybody who quit smoking ❤

In this boat. 30 years of multiple packs a day. Sadly I already screwed myself permanently as I have early stage emphysema. Cant do much without being unable to breath. I had childhood asthma which I outgrew, and as a typical teen thought I was invincible and began smoking and the decades just flew by. I didnt realize how bad my lungs were until it was way too late. I was trying to shovel a driveway last winter and I couldnt shovel more than 1 minute without having to sit down, and even sitting it would take 5-10 minutes to catch mybreath. Little by little through the years my stamina would shrink and I just didnt pay attention until it was so bad that it was hard to not notice. Always told myself I'd quit when I needed to or that I would notice the effect on my body and deal with it but I simply didn't notice until the damage was long done and mostly irreversible. I'll be yet another statistic in roughly 10-15 years.

no srsly don't search for a subtitue. do the opposite. I always took smoking a cig as sort of an a reward.. but what for? I stopped treating myself for having worked 1 hour or bravely waited for the bus for 5 minutes. I instead chewed a gum (I hate gum) and did the opposite of treating me. it's this circle. it helpes at firs but when you're really shortly b4 smoking 1.. than treat yourself. for NOT doing it. the first 2 weeks are the hardest, so you're halfway there. after that, it's ez not to. I even got drunk with my still-smoking friends and still did not want to smoke. yes. it's been harder to resist as usual, but it's still way easier to resist, than to be weak. but remember!! NEVER be weak. quitting smoking mean NEVER AGAIN. That all sounds a lot like a help-urself-book, but I really made up my mind about this. maybe stay away from occasions, where you'll eventually get temped, for 1 or 2 weeks and after that, you're pretty much done :) And! I gotta say, even thou I gained a lil weight (smoking stops your feel of hunger), I feel much more fit and relaxed. You can do it and I'm very proud of you guys. And don't stop masturbating.

I actually started smoking when i was 16 way back at highschool now im 22 thankfully i quit smoking these past 10 months and quiet frankly i felt more great the reason why i quit is because i wanted to go bodybuilding like going to the gym coz recently i got motivated by some GIGA chad KZbinrs and im actually thankful that those motivational videos got recommended to my feed the first month was quite a struggle because i was literally craving for cigarettes but watching this video made my willpower of not smoking more stronger. im glad videos like this exist to help others, my brothers we got this. addiction is temporary we can still turn our life around and live more healthy. 💪

I started smoking when I was 15. I was a chain smoker for 8 years and when I became 23, I decided to quit smoking. It took me around 1.5 years to fully stop it. Now I am 25 and I am proud of myself that I was able to quit it. If you want to quit smoking, your first step should be to start hating smoking and realizing that you have to quit it today or tomorrow. If I can quit it then you can do it too. Good luck NOTE : It's March 2023 and still i dont smoke and I'm really happy that i quit

That's good advice. I'm quitting due to heath and financial trouble. Its been almost a month and I've quit cold turkey. It's hard. I al.ost gave in a few times. Honestly, the only reason I didn't give in was money. I feel better too. I take it day by day. I feel depressed though and work from home. I've gotta work on my loneliness and not use smoking to cope. Walks are helping.

Isaiah Garza my dad quit smoking easily last year after several years been smoking. the reason urged him to do was that looking my uncle suffered a lot from his esophageal cancer from several years drinking strong alcohol. there was nothing mattered him at the time, he didnt seem to be fighting with the withdraw. he was 50 years old and he started smoking in many years when he was so young. i think the hardness may come from your thoughts.

I will turn 30 in about a month and a half. I began smoking when I was 22. I used to smoke at least 20 sigarettes a day. Yestarday I made the big desicion, an it's been 20 hours, 50 minutes and 10 seconds since the last cigarette. The cravings and changes of mood are unbearable at times, also the feeling of emptiness, that something is missing, but I must resist. For everyone else that has just started to quit, we can do this 💪
