so that white webbing that you have that is fusible webbing its usually used for ironing on hems so you don't have to sew or makes it easier to sew depending :) the cloth on the legs were once held on by a wire, from the inside out the chemise that is on the doll is what held her head and shoulders on the doll itself. looks like someone in attempt to keep her head on her shoulders used bias tape XD. a trick you can do if you fully want to restore the doll is take her apart fully, put all the sawdust in a container and wash the cloth from the body. then from there you can either hand patch with cotton cloth or you can opt to make a pattern out of the worn fabric if its to worn to sew. then its easy peasy putting her back together :) i to love doll restorations i just finished one on a old composite doll from the 40's i love historical peices.

Wow I really appreciate this valuable information! I am new to restoring antique dolls so I was working with the limitations of my knowledge but I hope to learn more as I go and be brave enough to try more challenging things. Thanks for the great tips and for watching my channel!

If I’m not mistaken, the first doll is referred to as a low brow china head. Both are just beautiful. What a wonderful find.

I was very happy to find them. Which doll did you think was a low brow? The larger doll is quite a mystery to me. Under her bonnet is old mohair covering black china hair and a pink china ribbon. I feel like her face has been repainted. I may do another video with her when I figure out what I should do. 😌Thank you for your comment!

Congratulations on your restoration! Professional or not, she's much better off now. Thank you for saving this poor precious little doll, and giving her the TLC she desperately needed and deserved. I have had a lot of success removing stains from old fabrics, using white vinegar and luke warm water. It has even made yellowed whites white again, and not damaged color. Of course you don't want your doll smelling like vinegar, so you simply wash the garment again, in a mild detergent.

Thank you so much for your kind comment. It was such a pleasure to learn about this doll and fix her up as best I could. I appreciate your suggestion of vinegar and warm water. I may try that another time. Have a great day!😊

Aww thank you so much Dot! I do believe that she was telling me her name. ☺️. I enjoyed fixing her up as best I could. The other one is a puzzle. Her dress is very fragile and I am not sure what or if I will do anything to her yet. We will see! Thank you for your support of my new channel. 🙏🥰

I am sad her feet are broken too. Sometimes it happens when they are being donated, and they are just tossed around and not displayed properly. I was happy to give her another chance to shine!

Maybe you could dye the dress a dark color such as navy blue.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have seen Dr Doll do this. I have not tried dying clothing before. Perhaps I could one day but I don’t mind how it turned out for now. 😊
