Hey Sanne, just a little tip for the eggs: There are reusable "floaties". Working just fine, egg comes out easily and you don't waste plastic. You can also use a muffin tray. Just grease the molds slightly, put a tablespoon of water in each and than the egg. Takes 8-10Min in a preheated oven. Perfekt for when you have guests.
@SanneVloet4 жыл бұрын
Ohhh I have never heard about this! I wanna try this out!

Yes! Silicone egg poachers! I've been using them for years - I even travel with them. They're even less fuss than using clingfilm and, of course, reduce plastic waste. :)
@koalabarchen13664 жыл бұрын
@@SanneVloet I just recently discovered them myself. I really love poached eggs, but always made a mess. Before I found those poachers I tried using a Soup ladle. It worked but was kinda complicated 😅 you can even find those poachers in different materials like food safe silicone or stainless steel. Really helpful 😊

Eggs in plastic floating in boiling water must be so toxic also really not environmentally friendly, we should really be more conscious of single use plastics and in this case it really isn’t needed or healthy. You can poach them in a pan of boiling water and just add vinagre to the pan so they stay together.

a little trick that my mom taught me was to use a big nonstick/cast iron pot, and bring the water to a boil. then, reduce it to a simmer, and simply drop a bunch of eggs in without whisking it at all!! the eggs have more of an oval shape instead of a circle, but it still gives off a poached egg effect :)

yeah, the proper way would be just plopping them in simmering, swirling water with a touch of vinegar, it's a technical skill that needs a lot of practice though.
