Your a wise woman Erin. Was a labor and delivery nurse for eight years and fully support a natural birth experience. We always said our goal was " healthy mom healthy baby". Home births usually go well but occasionally not and your making the best choice. Will pray for you and baby for wonderful delivery. That You and Dusty will have peace. That Max will bond with his new sibling. Superb video as usual!

My first baby I gave birth on the bed laying on my side, sort of in a squat position. My other three I gave birth in a big tub. My body fully submerged. I didn’t tare with any of them. I had really great midwives who worked with me. I know your going to do great. Your very prepared. I’ll keep you and your baby in my prayers. I’m so excited for your family especially Max!

I love hiw much control you are having over your birth. So many women don't feel they have control or even a say in how they are treated and what baby gets when born. I hope you become an inspiration to women and they can learn how to choose what is best for them and they're baby's during labor.

Erin, I SO admire you for putting your birth plan out there and showing expecting couples an alternate, more natural/gentle/safe route for labor & delivery. More couples need to hear this information, in order to feel like they have more agency and power over their experience. Pregnancy is supposed to be a beautiful and natural human experience, but unfortunately the popular stories are the horror stories (might I also add- usually due to the interventions!). I wanted to answer your question about great positions for natural delivery. For both of my babies, I was in the birthing tub on all fours (usually gripping the side of the tub for support or arms on the side of the tub) and squatting. I'd also stand and move my hips around when I could manage that. Birth assistant pushed on my low back during pushing to help low back pain. For my second birth, the exercise ball was SO helpful during the hard contractions before I entered the tub. (I'll even admit, I loved the ball so much we attempted bringing it into the water! CLEARLY that doesn't work...) But ya know in the heat of the moment it was a GREAT idea! :D Sitting on an exercise ball allowed me more hip mobility and oddly it felt like I was assisting baby work their way out. When I felt the wave of contraction coming, I grabbed onto our staircase pole/railing and pulled myself up, relieving some pain, OR I'd grip the arms of a dining room chair. I didn't plan to try these positions, they just happened organically, which is another reason why free movement is the only and best way to birth a baby!

Not the biggest supporter of home births, as my mom is a physician who has seen too many fatalities from inexperienced, under qualified practitioners, as well as the hospital being inaccessible for me to ever consider. Our hospitals are not conducive for a hospital grade natural birth. I completely respect your decision and opinion over child birth. You make me have hope for a more widely available birthing center all around. Congrats on Biv. This is an extremely late comment, but I just found you guys and have hinged your videos. You guys are living right!!!! Plant based and Christian. With love ❤

Yes! Dates are my favorite! Aside from being more active this last pregnancy, I ate 6 dates a day starting at 35 weeks actually and I was 39 weeks exactly when I gave birth and had a significantly shorter labor. I labored 30hours with my first, went 5 days past my due date (not much exercise, not very healthy diet and no dates). My second pregnancy (exercised 4 days a week, mostly whole foods plants based diet with the occasional beyond burger that I craved, and 6 dates a day), and had a 9 hour labor!

I have had 4 wonderful hospital births. Going to a hospital that is baby friendly certified makes a huge difference. The only thing I ever complain of is that during the pushing everyone forgets that the mother is thirsty!! I always bring a large water bottle now and my husbands job has been to offer the water between pushes. Little sips make for effective pushes!

I love how detailed your birth plan is, it's amazing that you've thought of everything, I wish I'd been able to do the same, unfortunately I live in Ireland and childbirth here is still very outdated and old fashioned which resulted in 3 very poor birth experiences, it was a good few years ago, 17 was my last baby but things here haven't changed much which we found out when my son's baby was born 8 weeks ago, my daughter in law wanted a water birth but was told she couldn't have one because she was so young and even her experience of not wanting to give birth on her back was completely ignored and they insisted she did it that way, I think your plan is fabulous and I would guess very comforting for you to be able to do things the way you feel best for your body and for your baby, the very best of wishes for a wonderful and enjoyable birth, love and hugs xxx

I wish you all the best with your birth! 💖 It sounds like you have a wonderful team and lots of support. I drank Nora tea (it's a blend of red raspberry, alfalfa, oat straw and nettle) during my second pregnancy and never had any leg cramps! I had A LOT of legs cramps with my first pregnancy so I attribute it to the tea. I had my first baby in a birth center that was in a hospital. I really loved having access to all the care we needed right there as well. With my second I had a water birth at home. The warm water helped me so much with both births. I also loved diffusing lavender and other calming oils. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Erin, So excited for you! I’m actually due a week after you are and also living a vegan lifestyle for the last few years. I was very excited when we recently came across your channel. Bring on the baby times! We also completed our hypnobirthing classes and have a very similar birth plan. Our birth plan is currently 2 pages long in sentence format. Is there any chance you would be able to share your plan as it looks much easier to follow. Wishing you all the best for your labour and newborn days! Looking forward to following along with your journey here in Sydney. Natalie x

Hey Natalie! If you do a Google search for "visual birth plans" there are lots of downloadable templates you can use, but I couldn't fine the exact one I used. You could check out the Mama Natural one...very similar! :)

On all fours was great for both babies completely natural no drugs. With regards post part blues I think because you are an active meditator and mover I was the same and those blue moments are embraced by nature and meditation. Sharon Salzburg is excellent for self compassion or Tara Brach. Im here in England but wish I was living there. I used to live in Arizona and Wisconsin for study and still think of those places as where my heart is. Have a wonderful birth. Its so amazing isn't it. I have a boy and a girl. Now nearly as tall as me!

Slippers. Thick comfy bathrobe. Your pillow. Chapstick. Hand lotion. Have you guys dove into frequency yet? It’s totally something you both would be interested in. Listen to music at 420 hertz. Some lady had a KZbin on here and she played meditation type music at 420. So might be really good at time of (or before) birth for everyone. The backyard looks amazing!!!! Great job guys!!!! And the tree house looks great Dusty! Good luck sister! Looking beautiful, we can’t wait to see new baby💜❤️💜

Oh wow, it's been a while! Last time I watched your vlog was when baby Max was born, now he's going to have a sibling---and a water baby (Cancer), not that it matters lol...but I love them water babies :P I'm not a mom yet but I used to watch Mamma Natural too. I thought you already knew about her when Max was born because your approach was similar. Have a safe delivery, coming soon!

That’s so awesome that your hospital is so accommodating! I love it! My first 2 hospital births were not good for me or the babies. We did go with a birth center for my 3rd child and loved that experience. I’d love to do a home birth next. Having these choices for each of our families is great! I did Spinning Babies and Hypnobabies. I like Insight Timer for meditation. There’s one by Ela Grace on there and it’s 5 minute morning. I pray to Jesus thanking Him all the way through. I wanted to squat with my youngest, but my body said no😂 I was on all fours. I avoided tearing following the essential oil regimen in the book Gentle Babies by Debra Raybern/Starkey. We didn’t bathe my youngest right away either or do any of the other typical hospital birth things. My third guy was my healthiest birth and child.

@@EatMoveRest oh I also wanted to say that I didn’t do a water birth either. I was considering it and then I read some I believe in The Nourishing Traditions Child & Baby book. I realize it’s very much not vegan, but I thought there was a lot of wisdom in it. I wanted to dehydrate and capsulize my placenta, but it just didn’t wind up happening. We couldn’t afford a doula. My husband was supposed to do it, but he was so busy that it didn’t get done. I always wondered if it would have made a difference for me. I was 38 when I delivered and I was diagnosed with Hashimotos quite some time after childbirth. I truly wonder if it would’ve been the boost I needed to keep my hormones in better balance.
