First I have to say that my wife and I love your channel. Being 50+ and vegan for almost 8 years ourselves, your videos are very inspiring. Second, being a health coach I find it very refreshing to see that your way of eating shows that you can eat around 1800-2000 calories instead of diets that lean towards 1200 calories that aren't sustainable in the long run. Best wishes from the Netherlands!

I love this video, and I've watched it several times for inspiration! It's great that most of your diet is plant-based. As my metabolism slows down now that I'm 50, It's been difficult to find solid advice from women in our age group who aren't obsessed with animal protein. If anyone watching wants to learn how to make their own plant-based yogurt at home, there are a bunch of good videos here on YT for instant pot yogurt made from soy and/or cashews. This has been a game changer for me - I make a new batch once a week.

Another fantastic video! I do this with food prep. Took me a while (and yes I do eat the odd take away!) but it is a treat! I love your kitchen too with the beautiful sunshine streaming through. That light whether sunny or not freshens the soul and gives us so much energy! ❤ your videos x

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I am 56 and really struggling with getting motivated to get back into shape. You have inspired me! Would you please tell me how you calculated your caloric needs? There are so many calculators out there so I was wondering if you had one you like or is it the My Fitness Pal app?

Good that you’re still mostly plant based, ... there’s an interview to a nutrition professor and he is 100 and still drives and has the biggest laugh. I also love Plant Proof podcast, Simon is lovely and fully plant based. I personally am afraid of trying dairy because of digestion but i might eat some fish occasionally. ...

Hi. Just found your channel. Great content. Keep posting! I be been so confused with different protocols for post menopausal women my brain is fried. I’ve always eaten small meals throughout the day and it always worked for me. However menopausal food allergies with a host of other things,things changed. I heard only three meals a day were better, no snacking because we become insulin resistant. I gained more weight in year than i have been my whole life when i was able to maintain my figure perfectly eating small meals. I have implemented IF and my question is what is your recommendation for meal spacing when eating 11 to 7 or 12 to 8 ? And what time is recommended for weight training while IF, during fasted state or after the first meal? Thank you for your time and videos!
@LiveYourselfYoung2 жыл бұрын
Hi and welcome! I eat my meals when I am hungry and that can vary from day to day. I also like to do a fasted walk first thing after a drink of water and often a black coffee. I normally train at lunch time so will have my first meal before I train but there are days when I train in the morning and will do a fasted workout. I do find I need to have a meal before training legs though. Try different things and listen to your body to see what works for you 💜

Hi Jackie! I don't use oil as the frozen veg mean it is not necessary. 💜

In curious what made you start including dairy again. No judgement. I went fully plant based 2 years ago at 49. Wish I had done it so much earlier but stopped drinking and eating cows breast milk like 4 years ago.

I appreciate the routine of how you eat, the pre-paredness of your evening meal and the reminder to incorporate more fresh foods. However, you lost me at "microwave". To my understanding "healthy" and "microwave" only belong in the same sentence if one is describing that "microwaves are not a healthy way of preparing your food" or "if you want to be healthy do not use microwaves." I do hope for your sake that, if you haven't already, please educate yourself on the effect of microwaving your food. You have such a wonderful intention and commitment to being healthy. I am concerned that you are sabotaging all your good efforts by destroying your food in that heating box.

I would lose the dairy if you want to maintain health in the long term. There are a lot of studies supporting the reduction and/or elimination of dairy prodcuts, especially milk and cheese!
