I am making the Ayurvedic tea this morning but am adding black peppercorns to mine as it dramatically increases the bioavailability of the turmeric. I remember a similar recipe in a vegetarian cooking paperback by Rose Elliot I owned back in the 1980’s (!) which I have sadly since lost, so was excited to see your recipe and also remembered Rose’s definitely had black peppercorns in hers which I always thought was weird at the time - but I’ve since learned the wisdom behind it ;)
@margareth55014 жыл бұрын
@@mellibee100 my doctor also says you need black pepper with turmeric or it’s of no anti inflammatory value. I take 4 capsules a day (Meriva SF) to make sure I’m getting enough curcumin (the thing in turmeric that’s anti inflammatory), which include blk pepper.
I'll bet your home smells amazing all winter long...

Ahh this reminds me of some years ago when I would have quinoa for breakfast. I like my foods & porridge "wet" so mixing it seems like a wonderful idea! Currently we are having a heavy time here due to my husband having severe back problems (and two small children in the home), so we treated ourselves to very wholesome meals we could order with someone in the neighbourhood. Her meals are made especially for new mothers - and others who prefer it - and they are all very easy to digest and very mildly spiced. She also reuses the containers, so it doesn't burden my low waste heart too much ;) We also have a heavier lunch and use child size portions of her meals for dinner. When we get our strengths up, this gives me inspiration for the time when all is a little better in our household.

People who used to make tofu or soymilk before, most will agree that tofu waste is one of the acceptable waste we can welcome to our low waste life. :) Since there's not much difference between summer and winter here in Thailand, i guess it's more accordng to age first. When I was younger nothing can kill my appetite but now when the weather is cooler, a warm bowl of soup, clear chicken or pork soup is the most comforting breakfast for Chinese Asain or porridge of course

I'm always trying to do more plant-based videos on my channel too, but I have a debilitating chronic illness, so it's really hard for me to get any new videos out at all. Unfortunately, 9 years on a plant-based diet didn't magically cure my illness, but it has certainly made a lot of my symptoms a hell of a lot better. It's so good for people (and really does reverse a lot of disease like heart disease and diabetes) so it's great that more and more people are sharing the joys of eating plant based with others online.
