Thanks 😊 Over the last couple years we've had many reminders to savor the time we have while we have it, so I try to visit with them as much as I can.

You can peel the lemons, blend them, pour the liquid into a small ice cube tray, and then you can put the ice cubes in your smoothie or in whatever else you use lemon juice.
@showmemovegan2 ай бұрын
That's a great idea! I often freeze the juice in ice cube trays, but blending would leave more fiber, love it!

It took me years to get into the habit of buying and using fresh lemons. What I do is scrub one lemon under water, slice it and squeeze it into a measuring cup. Then I pour the juice into a 2 oz travel size spray bottle that I bought in the drugstore beauty department. You'd be surprised how long the juice lasts in the refrigerator. I spray it on salads, soup, etc. Finally, I freeze the lemon peels and add them to my daily water bottle for flavor. 🍋 Keep up the good work, I love your videos.

That's a great idea! I do freeze fresh lemon juice sometimes, but I haven't just kept it in the fridge before. It seems like every time I buy fresh lemons, they get moldy within a day, so I should try that!

@vikilittle5262 ай бұрын
I quarter my apples and plop them in a freezer bag that I layout flat until they are frozen. I don't peel or core I just clean them.

@showmemovegan2 ай бұрын
Yes, I basically do the same thing. I just wash the apples, chop into a few pieces and freeze in a freezer bag. I do core mine first though. It's great way to use up apples if you buy a surplus and they're about to spoil. Also, if you have recipes that called for peeled apples, you can save the peels and freeze them to add to smoothies.

Great video. Do you just cut up apples and freeze or do you add lemon juice or something to prevent them from turning brown? Do you have a recipe for the apple “cake”? I looked on your website but didn’t see it. Thanks!
@showmemovegan2 ай бұрын
I don't add any lemon or anything, I just cut up the apples and freeze them. They usually don't get really brown if you freeze them right away, and I'm always using them in smoothies, so it doesn't matter if they get a little brown. And I don't have a recipe for the apple cake, it was just something I made to use up some applesauce I had one day, but I can make a recipe for it!
@conniel.46012 ай бұрын

Your smoothie is bitter because you put amla in it. What I do is, I bought on Amazon a product: Edible glutinous rice paper 500 sheets (4.7x4.7) inches, candy chocolate wrapper. I wrap amla and any other nasty tasting supplement, dip it in a liquid for 3 seconds, and then it is easy to swallow. This way you don't taste anything.
@showmemovegan2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think Dr. Greger uses a potato-based paper like that. I actually don't notice the taste of the amla in my smoothie, that's why I take it that way. My smoothies don't taste bitter to me, but I often hear from people that they find smoothies with kale and other greens to be bitter.
