All top tier ingredients for me. Plus it’s stirred and dark?! I’m sold!

Stirred and Dark sounds like a fantastic name for a bar... or maybe "Dark & Stirred". I'm keeping that one. LOL!

Absolutely right up our alley Jess! What a perfect sounding cocktail. Your giving us mad jealous vermouth vibes though... Carpano Antica is one of those treasures that only rarely rolls through town. Luckily we have a local distiller who makes a very tasty sweet vermouth. Just a wonderful cocktail my friend. Thank you for this. We'll make it tonight!

I mean, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Any combo with these bottles is going to be good. LOL!

Looks like a great crossover. Gotta go get some amaro now. Never thought of subbing port for the vermouth in my Manhattans but now want to try that too.

This is the PERFECT cocktail! I love Manhattans and my wife is an Old Fashioned girl. We now have a single drink for us both. It is so layered and complex. Thanks for this one! We just discovered your channel and love your passion and delivery. And Noble Oak…WOW! Can you tell us where you got the decanters you use to store your lemon and lime juice in from the Ube video? Thanks for all you do!

Thank you so much for tuning in, and I’m glad you enjoyed the cocktail!! This is a personal fav- I’ve always loved both manhattans and old fashioneds, so it sort of came together naturally! The little bottles are from this set (been using them for years): amzn.to/3SjIfNm

DIVINE! Finally acquired all the critical ingredients and launched into a two evening taste test between paper plane and battery park. Battery Park wins hands down... much smoother. Found the paper plane to be far tarter than remembered so may need to refine the recipe to my own taste (such sufferance pity duty, eh?!? LOL)

Jess this gorgeous cocktail is a beautiful love child and I can't wait to make one. I agree that high quality vermouth is so important! I'd also love to try a Tawny Port in this spectacular-looking libation!! It's not that easy to find Carpano Antica in Vancouver. I have to try and pin some down. The Battery Park looks so mindblowingly amazing!! Thanks for the fab video!! Cheers!! :-)
@SavidgeKitchen2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! And let me know if you try it with a tawny port- I'm going to have to try it that way too and see what it does to the overall flavor profile... you know, for science. LOL! Cheers :)

@@SavidgeKitchen We must sacrifice for science!! Lol!! I will definitely let you know when I try Tawny Port!! Can't wait to taste this beautiful cocktail!! Thanks Jess!! :-)

Sounds delicious Jess. Where does the name come from??

Well, the Manhattan got me thinking about New York, and the Old Fashioned made me think of prohibition era, and then the Amaro Nonino got me thinking about another cocktail, the Paper Plane... which somehow led to me thinking about King Kong scaling the Empire State Building... and all those things together make me think of people strolling along Battery Park in NYC. And now you have a peek at how my brain free associates. LOL!
