The fact the the stone crusher didn't work was because maybe the stones are diffrent i composition or vibrate at a diffrent wave than the stones from Gamoras universe/timeline. This is not the same as what happened to the Stones in Endgame, the Avenger brought the stones from their own timeline's past into the future, not from another universe. They didn't go to an alternative timeline were Captain America never woke up and retrieve the Tesarrac, they just went to the past to a point when they still existed.

A couple things: I get the stones could be slightly different in different universes, BUT the crusher was powered by one stone of a full set, so why couldn't it adapt to the specific variation of the full set of stones and actually crush them? Also, I thought Tony's suit in Endgame was a product of him getting nanotech using Wakandan vibranium? So, theoretically, if Killmonger's suit could have taken the full force of the stones, so could Tony's. But, the more likely reason is that Killmonger didn't have all 6 since he was missing the mind stone.

Going back in time _creates_ a new universe though. History is a line, but when you travel backwards (or forwards theoretically?) through that line, you create a new timeline wherever you end up, thus creating a new universe; Timelines are synonymous with universes in the MCU. This also applies to choices and chances made in the moment, too, that could branch universes, which What If explores. The only exception to the standard time travel we've seen in the MCU is that What If episode with Strange, where Strange modified the timeline he was in (Instead of creating a new one) using the Time Stone.

Another thing involving "why the soul stone?" It might also juts be the safest to hold. The Time stone was always kept in some sort of container (the eye of Augamoto), The reality stone had ill effects on Jane, the space stone literately warped Red-Skull to a different planet, and the power stone nearly tore apart the entre guardians of the galaxy... so grabbing them could be dangerous to Star Lord Tach'ala. Meanwhile the mind stone is more securely attached to Ultron's body and would be harder to steal, grabbing that could tip him off. Process of elimination, only the soul stone left.
@coolo733 жыл бұрын
I thought that the stones that Tony used to un-snap everyone, were from the same, main MCU reality, but from different time periods. By Steve returning the stones to the exact point they were taken, the Avengers' actions didn't disrupt anything enough to create branch realities. It was a "time heist", not a "multiverse heist". Of course the branch realities caused by Loki (and I assume Endgame younger Thanos) were removed by the TVA.
@SlowWinterNuts3 жыл бұрын
They'd still be different universes. Even though Steve brought the stones back as cleanly as he could, he _still_ existed in those timelines to take and return the stones, thus making those histories separate from the history of our timeline. Even if you time travelled and caused minimal change, the very time travel itself creates a separate universe where its history differs from the history of your own, because you time travelled at all.
@coolo733 жыл бұрын
@@SlowWinterNuts The current logic in the MCU is not the “butterfly effect” where any sort of time travel changes the course of history or creates a branch timeline. It has to be a significant event. In fact that was the whole point of the Sorcerer Supreme’s speech to the Hulk and the reason Steve had to return the stones…so they wouldn’t create any branch timelines. He even says right before going back “clip all the branches”. Also the reason the TVA didn’t bring in the Avengers for crimes…..they didn’t disrupt the sacred timeline at all…only Loki did. Time travel doesn’t automatically create new branch alternate timelines aka different universes, so the stones used in endgame (except for the one Loki stole) stayed in the same reality.
@SlowWinterNuts3 жыл бұрын
@@coolo73 Right, that's why those separate timelines didn't ripple away into something wildly different: Because Steve DID put the stones back. But this still keeps them as separate timelines because Steve as a time traveler doing what he did and the way he did it (As well as the rest of the time traveling Avengers) existed in those timelines' histories, but not in the history of the main timeline. Note: This is also how Steve was able to return the stones at all, as in _his_ reality, the stones weren't missing, so he wouldn't be able to travel backwards in time to return them, but in those branched realities, they were taken, so he goes back to those individual branched realities to cleanly return the stones to minimize the butterfly effect the Ancient One warned Hulk about (Namely the bad what if possibility where the Sorcerors lose the Time Stone and lacked the ability to protect the Earth) It doesn't matter if you permanently stole the stones or put them back, you still branched the timeline by existing at all in a different time. It doesn't matter if the butterfly effect causes many changes or none at all: Your very existence in the past creates a new history where you existed in the past, when in your timelime it didn't. The time travel in Endgame doesn't change history, it creates new histories, and with a new history comes an entirely separate and branched universe where things happened differently, whether big, or as small as simply existing in the past.
@SlowWinterNuts3 жыл бұрын
Also important to note^ When I say new history, I don't mean a _brand_ new history where everything changes, I mean a new history where something as small as you existing in the past is the only difference compared to the history of your timeline.

I think Odin knew where the scepter was, or he may have even hidden it himself after his Infinity Stone quest. It would stand to reason that Loki could have figured out its location at any time in his past, but needed to wait for Odin to enter the Odin Sleep to make any kind of move. Heck, it could have been in Odin’s Treasure Room at one point for all we know. Once Odin was asleep, (knowing he couldn’t single handedly overpower whatever safeguards were in place to keep the scepter hidden and protected) Loki would have conceived of aligning with a powerful conquerer like Thanos. (I would imagine Thanos isn’t hard to find). His forces, or even just the Black Order themselves would be more than enough firepower to acquire it. I would imagine that with Loki’s silver tongue, it wouldn’t be too difficult to convince Thanos that he knew the location of the Mind Stone; and if that’s the case then that could have been what primed Thanos to begin his quest and move to have his gauntlet commissioned. It was also clear in Avengers 1 that Loki was under the Mind Stone’s influence, so Thanos probably used it on Loki just like how Nat did at the end of What If or Steve did to his younger self in Endgame. My guess is that Loki needs to remain nearby the scepter for Thanos’ mind control to stay in effect, which is the only logical reason I can come up with to explain why Thanos entrusted Loki to acquire the Tesseract and why he had the scepter in the first place.

Another reason Dr. Strange agreed to babysit the dimensional prison was because his character has been already shown to be willing to make the "tough decision." When he trapped Dormmamu in the time loop with him, Strange was perfectly willing to spend as many thousands of years as it took to wait out Dormmamu's patience until he was willing to compromise with him. Even if it meant dying a billion times, Strange was willing, because he knew he'd "survive" in the end. The stones were technically from the same timeline/universe/reality (past timeline but still same universe/reality) meaning they still had the same power bc they came from the same universe. Okay. I have to comment on a few of your explanations Ryan: 1) Zola being analog is nonsense. His databanks were analog, but his code would be the some 1s and 0s as any other code. 2) Tony's suit in Endgame _was_ made of vibranium. It was Wakanda nano-tech. Also the GotG tried to use only one Stone (Power-Stone) and it nearly destroyed them all. So that explanation also doesn't hold water. My guess why Kilmonger could withstand the stones and not Tony or the GotG was that him being the Black Panther (aka a Super-Human being) was the reason he could survive.

If Ultron’s base consciousness came from the infinity stones (specifically the mind stone) the one imbedded in his head and the rest imbedded in his armor does that make him a living manifestation of the infinity stones? So is the will of the infinity stones to take out all of life? Or does this come from the aspects of his code that came from Tony Stark which ultimately confused the living infinity stone organism(which Ultron is)? I ask this because There must have been a purpose for the infinity stones to be in & inhabit a universe, whoever created the infinity stones, there had to be a meaning behind them and the meaning and purpose of them is unclear, the closest meaning that they seem to have is to bewildered by a powerful being and usually that powerful being is tyrannical instead of good. The ancient one speaks of the infinity stones as weapons against evil and that they create the flow of time but why is it that reality does not break when an infinity stone is taken out of a single universe and they tend to fall in the hands of "evil" just as much as the "good"? It seems that it was the celestial that created the stones, and humanoids say it was the big bang. but I think the celestials the stones as an experiment to see how various universe's would utilize them detached from the good or evil. But taking that further why are they running the experiments?

Probably infinity stones are a bit sadistic. The soul stones requires a sacrifice in order to gain it. The mind stone gave, in a stretch, birth to Ultron and unlocked the future powers of the Scarlet Witch. The reality stone almost killed Jane Foster, just because the Ether "decided" to use her as a vessel, despite she wasn't strong enough to survive such power. And speaking of power, the power stone destroys anything organic, except for those strong enough to wield it (mostly entities looking for destruction). The time stones seem to be more friendly, but it never prevented Strange Supreme from using it, hence his universe got destroyed. The space stone sent Red Skull to guard the soul stone, like forever. And the soul stone, well I have already wrote something about it.
@CthulhuTheory3 жыл бұрын
Ultron's consciousness is a byproduct of the AI that Tony designed. Just like Vision is JARVIS in the Vision body, but it's the stone that powers and provides consciousness to the body itself. It's ultimately due to the programming of Ultron's AI that leads him to destroy all life. The purpose of the infinity stones themselves is to provide structure to the universe itself, as each represent a core element of each universe's reality: Time and Space are obvious, you gotta have space to place things in and time to traverse it and allow things to happen. Power provides fuel for everything to happen. The mind stone provides free will, while the Soul stone provides a conscious existence. Reality provides the scaffolding to make it all happen.
@CthulhuTheory3 жыл бұрын
@@WigantX The mind stone grants free will. Soul stone provides a conscious existence. Power is simply power, energy itself, manifest in the form of the aether and the crystalized stone, and can destroy more than just organic matter; because it's raw power, not everyone is capable of handling it and those that can tend to be the kind that cause destruction (it's correlation due to adaptation towards power itself). The time stone was never directly used by Strange, as he channels the power of the stone via magic, and not through physical manipulation. The space stone was in the form of the tesseract, not the stone itself, and as a cosmic cube was converted into what amounted to be a power source. A battery. Red Skull's transition to Voromir was likely less an act of the Space stone and more likely an act of the celestials, or the soul stone itself. The rules around the soul stone are incredibly nebulous. I was honestly expecting it to be related to Wakanda and the heart shaped herb, since it allows users to see spirits on what I presume is the MCU's astral plane.

Just say there are inconsistencies because of different writers. It's simple. Peggy wouldn't or shouldn't know Nat's fathers name regardless of how close they were since Nat didn't even know. Tony went back in time not to another universe. Explain how Zola and Killmonger were at a stalemate when Killmonger had all but one stone. The power stone strengthens the other stones. How was Zola not destroyed with ease? Do humans not need food or sleep in pocket dimensions? How could Steve possibly be alive in the Hydra Stomper? He only survive being frozen because of the serum. How was Ramonda a general yet a few years later had to be protected by Shuri and Nakia to get out of Wakanda? Why was party Thor the best version to pick for the team? Why wasn't Peter Parker from the zombie universe chosen? He was still alive. Why is Peggy so obsessed with dancing? That one line didn't warrant so many callbacks.

My only guess for why Hulk and Tony's snap worked was because they retrieved the stones at different points in time in their reality and timeline, meaning that the infinity stones for them are native and unique to their timeline, only differing in what point in time the stones existed and were retrieved before being put back at the moment they were taken, ensuring the prime MCU timeline doesn't completely branch (cough LoKi and Captain America). However in the case of Ultron harnessing the power of the stones from his native timeline across the multiverse is something entirely different. From what we can observe, it appears the stones still function much in the same way they would in their native timeline, but when used inside The Watcher's domain, it appears they can only emit powerful bursts of energy, it's only when they're in any universe do they function as accordingly to each key aspect of existence. What is also known now is that if two of the same stones or even more are used against each other, the effects cancel each other out, but that brings up a question, what happens to a universe if even one stone is missing? As The Ancient One stated in Endgame, millions would suffer and the whole universe would plunge into darkness. As well as what would happen if a universe contains more than 1 native infinity stone and how would that affect the balance in that universe? There's a difference between destroying an infinity stone and outright removing it from a universe, when Thanos destroyed the stones, they were only atomized as the very governing force and power of the stones cannot be destroyed, only the vessel that was used to control that aspect of existence. As for removing it from it's universe all together, if a key aspect of that universe's existence is removed, no one knows, just another of infinite what if scenarios.

Killmonger also had the power of the heart shaped herb within him, which may have been sufficient to protect him from the power of the stones. Also, it seems to matter what you’re doing with the stones in terms of how much energy is transferred back to the user. When thanos first grabs all six He attacks thor, but this doesn’t damage him as much as snapping his fingers to cause the blip or when he destroyed the stones.
@shisah55443 жыл бұрын
So with the power of the heart shaped herb and vibranium, you have to wonder why black panther didn’t offer to do the snap in endgame
@MrAjCalderon3 жыл бұрын
Kilmonger was probably able to survive due to a combination of taking the Purple Heart shaped herb and being essentially a super soldier combined with two layers of vibranium armor and using the stones one at a time.

Uatu was legit surprised at the end of the party Thor episode. Most likely the events of finale and the end of the party Thor episode were around the same time. Ulton only discovered the multiverse because Uatu went back to that time in that universe to narrate. We didn't get back to real time until ulton broke into the multiverse and Uatu started collecting heroes.

I have other plot holes.... 1) why did the watcher take party thor, when he could've taken a much stronger thor like from the main timeline during infinity war? 2) why was steve in the hydra stomper? At the end of episode 1 he was out of the armour, with his frainds and red skull defeated 3) what happened to the killmonger universe? The other guardians went straight to where and when they were taken from, but killmonger was stuck at the pocket reality at the end 4) like you said in the video, the zombies can't have been the ones from the zombie episode, because of cap and sam, but at the end of episode 5 we didn't get to see what happened to bucky, bruce and wanda. And also what happend with thanos, because if they defeated him, they should have no problem curing the zombies, and then all of the zombies that are not dead would be back, and most of the avengers would just be dead? That episode just didn't end very clearly at all. Also I don't get the zombie rules, they want to eat humans, but most of the time thwy just bite them and they become zombies, and they can't eat each other. So yeah....

it moves on as a better place without him? his universe was not dependent on his existence in it you know. my guess is Shuri and Pepper work to fix all the shit Killmonger wrought. they would probably try to find killmonger to bring him to justice, as they would not have know that he left their universe and they no doubt would have seen him as a continued threat as long as they did not know his whereabouts or have him in custody. but alas, they would never find him.

My one and only big question is how does Steve as the Winter soldier work? Is he like a nuke, they just sent him onto one spot and he has to just completely wipe out everything with no witnesses because I don’t see how a giant green robot bigger then my garage powered by a giant blue brick that can open up portals to anywhere in the universe would really be that great of an Secret assassin.

I'm 90% sure all the stones are from the same timeline, just taken from different points on it. That's why they time travel and not multi-verse hope, Cap travels back to those specific points on their timeline so it doesn't create branches. You could be right but you could be wrong.

I've got two plot holes I'm curious about. 1 - How can the infinity stones that Ultron is using work in other universes, I thought they only work within their said universe 2 - At the end of the episode Fury mentioned that Natasha wasn't his, like he knows of the multi-verse or something. I thought this was weird since not to many characters would know of other universes or variants. Any thoughts on these?
@kreiyu3 жыл бұрын
well the mcu seems to be changing that rule a bit. as far as i can tell, in the mcu, the stones can indeed work in other universes. unlike in the comics. there's a theories that ulrons body acted like a battery to carry their energy to other universes. or that somehow ultron kept a "link" to his universe that extended to where ever he was. but like i said, i think that they are just changing how they work in the mcu as opposed to the comics. no reason is really necessary for that to happen. as for why they didn't work in the TVA? maybe the YVA just blocked all energy powers? maybe the TVA is in it's own separate reality out side of space and time that had no big bang energy for the stones to use? and yeah, it is kind of weird that Fury would recognize her as not being the real natasha and not instantly assume some kind of deception. of course he was under attack by an army of loki's so... maybe his mind is just open to crazy possibilities at that point lol.
@realityrebel46873 жыл бұрын
@@kreiyu those are fair theories, I personally like the he's body being a battery or something. It would somewhat provide the idea that they would normally be useless but since he was made from a stone and had a body made with same stone it allowed for a better connection to continue using them, or at least that's how my mind thinks of it heheh

In the mcu…the stones didn’t come from different universes or realities. They came from the same universe just different time lines and changes to those time lines cause different realities. Like the timelines flows the same way but then cause a different realities like when loki takes the stone….ie what if Loki took the space stone
@PDash9193 жыл бұрын
Tony didn't use stones from different realities. He used stones from different points in time. Same Universe. Same Reality. Same Sacred Timeline. That is why in Loki, it was said that what the Avengers did was supposed to happen. Had Cap not returned the stones back to their original places, that would have branched off into different realities.
@MrSpinYaLifeAround3 жыл бұрын
In endgame the Avengers stayed in there same reality. They just went back in time. They never jumped timelines. Just back in time.

@mcsquisherton3 жыл бұрын
But there would have to be multiple versions of Ultron with the Infinity Stones. That's how a multiverse works right. The whole cat in the box idea. I'f there's multiple options all options always play out, just in different universes, no. Or are the rules different in the MCU? I know it's make believe and they can make it whatever they want, but It seems like that's how it was presented on the Loki series, no?
@Van-xk7gn3 жыл бұрын
I thought that Tony's snap worked because the stones weren't not from different realities, but instead different points in time of the same reality.
