A better translation goes - 'we being still sinners, Christ has died for us'. When you study the tense of the verbs it means Christ has died for us to put away our sins when we were sinners, also we being 'still' sinners by nature and prone to fail, the effect of Christ's death continues to cleanse us from all sin. It is a once for all sacrifice and Christ has sat down as our High Priest at God's right hand, ever living to make intercession for us.

Confess and repent with a sincere heart after every sin. And leave the rest to God. I believe he will decide what is Good for you. its not yours to decide if he forgives you or not. Its solely his will. So just trust him and his will.

@@anis1210 I’m beginning to feel that I’m just not of the elect. I believe God is lord, but I cannot identify his love or influence in my life, and seemingly every day I slip more and more into depravity. I’ve begged him to save me, to grant me the strength to maintain my repentance and to chase the devil away from my mind. But so far……I’m just getting worse.

@@TheNightWatcher1385 - Remember God works in mysterious ways so never expect him to work in a certain way or how you want him to influence you. But trust his own ways. Although you might not understand him, Have strong faith that hes working on you. - We are humans and we are weak. Even a true Christian can slip and sin sometimes. So dont be hard on yourself that you have sinned. Instead ask for sincere forgiveness and let him decide if you deserve it or not. You might think you dont deserve forgiveness but you dont know what God is thinking so dont let your feelings of sadness or hopelessness overcome you. Those thoughts are mostly from the devil trying to make you weaker and lose hope. - The other thing is I think God sends the devil in order to test our strength and willpower. So next time if you are tempted by the devil just focus on your own righteous path. Sometimes its not the devil that needs to be chased away but we must flee from evil ourselves before it consumes us. Next, say this prayer "Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for our sins. You sacrificed your own life so that we sinners could be saved through your blood." "I accept your sacrifice and repent of all my sins and ask for your forgivness. Please accept my prayer. Amen"

@@anis1210 Thanks for the advice. I’ll continue asking for forgiveness. It’s just hard, ya know? Repenting while just knowing I’ll fail again. My despair doesn’t just come from knowing I sin, but realizing that I’ve begun to sin much more egregiously than I thought I was capable of. I’ll do my best to keep the faith, but I’d be a liar if I said I wasn’t afraid that I’m condemned. Afraid that at any moment I could die and be in fire.

We have to repent of future sins when they happen. That's why it's if we confess our sins then He forgives us of them. If you know a sin, but refuse to confess it, then it remains unforgiven and He is merciful with our ignorant sins and He'll lead us to repent. So be humble and confess them. ☺️💛 P.s. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? The answer to this question. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Never trust your heart until you have compared its message with scripture.

In this case it isn't the heart that is the problem it is the emotions(she said the person knows God forgives them but they don't feel forgiven). In which case I would say tell those feelings to shut up and go away because I choose to believe that I am forgiven, because God said that I am forgiven. Though there is also the question of, have they made the choice to forgive others. We love others the way we love ourselves, if they have an unforgiving heart towards others then their heart will tell them that they are unforgiven. But again they said they know that they are forgiven.

God doesn't love us more when we obey and doesn't love us less when we disobey, but there's a consequence in disobedience. Why is there a consequence in disobedience? I've had disagreements with my parents, I've disobeyed them. They did not love me more or less, regarding obedience. And there have not been any consequences. I was 'free' to live my own life. My parents did not always agree, but also didn't put consequences on it. So, why is god then so petty?

@@childofgod4347 I'm sorry, but that analogy doesn't work. My parents are not the lawgivers, with regards to murder. However, according to religious people God is the lawgiver. And, he determines what you can or can not think and he even determines what you can and can not eat. And when you disobey him, you will go to hell for eternity. Have you eaten pork or shellfish? Then you must repent, because God doesn;t want you to eat those foods. Have you looked in lust at another person? Then you must repent, because God doesn't want you to think about another person in that way. That is kinda petty. Once my parents did not agree with my choice in girlfriend. Which is their right. Did they ban us, from visiting them? Ofcourse not. Why would I need to repent to my parents for chosing a girlfriend they did not like? The same goes for God. Why would need my repentance, when he can't love me more or less, regardless of my obeying him? Why would I then need to repent, if it doesn't matter to him?
@childofgod4347
@childofgod4347 5 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamsWorldView you cannot compare earthly parents with God. It doesn't work this way, because even they are parents they are still human, they are not perfect. I disagree on my parents on many things but I don't lose my respect for them. And of course parents love their children regardless what they do, they love them for who they are and not what they do. The same goes for God, He loves us as His children but he doesn't like everything we do regarding our actions and choices we made but still loves us. Obeying Him is not about Him, it doesn't benefit Him but it benefit us, whether we obey or disobey it is for us, and not for Him.

Good answer, I agree. The way I see it, God has reconciled everyone to Himself. In other words, everyone is loved, forgiven and healed but each person must choose to either reconcile their self to God by repenting of evil behavior and believing the good news (gospel) or not. By cooperating with God (repenting, believing and acting) one receives the blessings but by rebelling, one rejects the blessings; our destiny is in our own hands. Mark 1:15 (KJV) And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. 2 Corinthians 5:19 (KJV) ...God was in Christ, RECONCILING THE WORLD UNTO HIMSELF, NOT IMPUTING THEIR TRESPASSES UNTO THEM... Feelings faith and facts. Feelings took a fall, faith took a setback, but facts remained the same. Facts drew back faith, faith drew back feelings. We must have faith, but it must be fact based faith. If our faith is based on the facts of God and His word, it will be an anchor of stability in our lives. It will hold us when we don’t “feel” like we can go on, when we don’t “feel” like God is working in and through us.

*_Quoting:_* It seems that, before one experiences a conscious thought, unconscious brain processes work behind the scenes to generate the thought. During this opaque process, unconscious representations and calculations seem to be involved. The great Hermann von Helmholtz referred to these behind-the-scenes processes as "unconscious inferences," and Wilhelm Wundt, the father of experimental psychology, referred to conscious thought as a high-level "apperception," because it involves more unconscious analyses and interpretations than does "normal perception," which, to him, could transpire unconsciously. In other words, we make up what we think God is and how he acts, therefore we also make up being punished or rejected by him, loosing track that God has never said or done anything either way.

One of the hardest things for people to do is actually accept forgiveness and move on and allow change to occur as it will without judgment involved. The reason people think, mistakenly, that God is still angry at them is self-centered judgment. God isn't still angry at you, you are still angry at others and yourself. Let go of past hurts, etc, taken and given and you're free to love but with discernment. Jesus said "Love God with all your heart and your neighbor & enemies) as yourself. So whatever standards you hold for your own life are the standards you want others to have but you can't hold them to it or judge them either way. You live them but you don't have to worry about them or try to save them if they don't want to go that route, so you bless them & release them to find their own way. Unless it's given to you to share the Word & news of Jesus in a formal setting, live your life with him as the center or foundation of your life and let your example be the way you let Jesus make you feel that you are living a loving life even when you disagree or choose to have nothing to do with people who don't want to interact with you based in Jesus as the center of life itself. Its a choice. How you choose to do that is about you. If you choose a church, which church? There are 1,000s of them. Maybe no church at all, just Jesus on a daily basis. It's your choice. It's their choice. Choose. That's about you. God bless you and everyone in all things. Amen.

As embodied creatures, one could imagine that we could benefit greatly from having the chance to audibly tell someone our sins (kind of an ancient therapy session) and then actually hear the words of absolution from someone empowered by God to forgive sins. If only He had empowered a group of people to serve in that capacity (John 20:22-23).

In my opinion it's a lack of faith. If you believe you are forgiven you don't fell unforgiven, it's just not possible...feelings have a reason. Jas 1:6 "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." To illustrate: if I tell you i come to pick you up at 6pm and you feel scared or unsure it means you don't trust me keeping my promise. If you trust me you are relaxed and waiting confidently for me to arrive.

I respect Frank for all that he does, but I feel here he dodged the question. The question wasn't "why do I feel like God doesn't love me." The question was "why do I feel like God is still angry with me." I think what Frank said was true, but it doesn't address the question of God being pleased and/or displeased with us. I think a lot of Christians, myself included, wrestle with this feeling that God is angry with us. The closer we get to Him, the more real He becomes in our life, the more the magnitude of our sin (and that we are only not good, but we are in fact wretched) becomes apparent to us, the more we tend to find ourselves sympathize with the righteousness of God's wrath being directed at us. I believe Jesus was the atonement for all sin and that if we believe in Him we are given grace. But it was His Son with whom he was well pleased, not us. I believe God loves me but can I not still anger Him?

What if someone is feeling that their life is a legitimate mistake and that they should never have been created in the first place? If everyone in their life has thrown them away like garbage, (even their own parents), they have no template for comprehending a Loving, accepting Father-God in which to place their faith. Life has never show them anything upon which to even base the beginnings of an understanding. What if such a person's genuine expectation, upon meeting God after they die, is that no matter how hard they tried, they're just going to be rejected by Him as well anyway. Since rejection is the only relational reaction they've ever experienced in life? How can this person move on in faith? Upon what can they base their faith? Is it possible that some *souls* are simply defective and meant, from the beginning, only for the discard pile?

Thank you! I also feel distant to God. But I love the message here that we should obey firstly and that our weakness is to be embraced and we shouldn’t forgive ourselves even as we stray. Only Jesus can forgive and we have no power. I hate myself but find that part of being faithful to Him. We eat chocolate proudly at our church so it is perfectly normal for our kids to not be let’s say athletic. I would not be ashamed of fatness as it is part of being a good Christian to tolerate guilt, and those that are not guilty might not be forgiven and thus might not reach heaven. I myself often have guilty feelings of not enough faith in God but I use this guilt to ask for forgiveness so I can be saved. I don’t think we should try to overcome our guilt but recognise it as part of being a Christian, even if it is difficult to live with. Even if we feel worse with this guilt, it I better to have it and know that we are true Christians. It brings us down, but it brings us together. Together, and down. Only then we can be saved. Being fat, well I’m bot fat to myself but if you choose to identify 558 pounds as fat, then that is your choice, but being like this does make me feel guilt but from my faith I think guilt is not an unholy feeling even if it means pain. It is like turning your cheek when struck as we are taught and deeply a part of our faith of tolerance our sadness and sickliness - including being large. Faith also why I love America 🇺🇸 and we are unique here, we have a responsibility to change the world, and lucky to be an exception in the world - thus we can spread faith to others to help them to tolerate guilt of sin, guilt of leaning away, and guilt of eating chocolate. This brings Christians together and Jesus accepts you too, so if you feel guilty for chocolate, or guilt ou about anything, think about your faith firstly rather than trying to solve the problem. Under god we accept, we give in to our weakness, we don’t try to change our weaknesses.

Feelings are generally unreliable even when they appear positive. The happiness of a believer is not the same as that of an unbeliever. Fear is a feeling that Elijah can tell you about but look how Jehoshaphat handled it. The key in all situations is FAITH. Believe the WORD of God ACCORDING TO the word of God ( Psalm 138:2 ) and everything else will find its own level. Of course, Satan is persistent in re-introducing himself but he knows when to back off like Job and Jesus Christ showed him. Shalom.

We benefit from worshiping him, because that's how he chose to create us. When someone sees something they want, they do what it takes to get it. If they don't put in the work they don't get it. Since heaven is so infinitely paradisaical and things on earth (that we ARE willing to work for) are not, there should be no reason to not constantly be working towards gaining access to it. My point is, God will not force us into heaven, but he shouldn't have to by giving an unthinkable alternative. Why not just stay where we are at forever until we decide to choose something better?

He doesn’t answer the question about feelings here, though. The thing to remember is that our feelings often lie to us. You don’t always automatically feel warm and fuzzy after God forgives you for a particular sin. Sometimes we choose to continue to carry the guilt ourselves. Faith requires trust. If you prayed and sincerely asked God for forgiveness for something in a biblical manner, you’ve got to trust that he forgave you in accordance with the Bible, despite what you might be feeling. You may also need to forgive yourself.

God is not like an angry parent, ruminating and obsessing over their child's disobedience. On the other hand, to believe that God can not be provoked to anger is a serious, and oftentimes fatal, mistake. Because Christians have the benefit of confession and God's forgiveness does not give us license to sin. What we sow, we also shall reap. We are not immune from the effects of sin.

If you trust & believe God, you trust & believe his words.......1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Is GOD angry at me? GOD is Patience, Love, Holy, Just and Forgiving. if you still continue to sins and do not want to repent. He will pour out his wrath to those who sins against him. To know God, is to read and study the KJ or NKJ Holy Bible. Easy to understand NKJ bible. Ans: God is not angry he is Just & holy. Take care and stay safe The end

In the Bible in the Old Testament Lord God says if a unrighteous person repents and turns back into a righteousness none of your sins will be remembered on the judgement day. But if a righteous person turns from his righteous ways to unrighteousness none of his good works will be remembered.
