While true that technically was SD, if you take into account that he committed aggravated assault and caused all that property damage, I think a lawyer could find a way to convince a jury he wasn’t acting with fear of imminent harm to himself but rather a desire to cause harm. Just before the dude broke in, James even made a very frightening threat of “sawing off” Charlie’s head.

@@Irmis98 the random girls were Glep's wife and Charlie's girlfriend, presumably there because they were invited to the Halloween party hosted by Mr. Boss. They brought Desmond to the office in the pilot explicitly so he signed the documents that Pim and Charlie failed to make him smile. The only person other than James who was in their office uninvited is that naked squatter guy living in their walls.

the murder could be said that it was in self defense so it shouldn't be counted. not sure if the same can be said of leaving the scene without reporting it. consequence to that is usually that there is a chance the police will find the murdered guy and think it's just that, a murder, but since there are a good number of witnesses he would be found not guily of that one crime. BUT if there weren't witnesses he would face a good year of court hearings.

As others have pointed out, trespassing and/or breaking and entering as Smiling Friends seems to be a call service. Typically people call Mr. Boss and he sends out employees. There could be a reception area for walk-ins, but that is unclear and James has gone beyond that theoretical boundary. Also gotta add vandalism/destruction of property for the sign out front. I hope we see James again.

1:55 this is a drop lid, and the individual tiles are fiberboard/plastic, you can get a big ass stack of them for a hundred bucks. You wouldn't replace two random panels in a ceiling with an LED light fixture. only one of those panels are actually missing, the other has been pushed into the rest of the ceiling and just needs to be nudged back into place. chances are the building has a store room with a couple spare panels, and all you would need for that repair is a ladder and someone with a working pair of legs. The real money sink would be that massive hole in the wall where the doorway used to be, I cant believe you didnt address that. another thing you didnt factor in was the labor cost of those repairs, you'd probably need to hire a carpenter to deal with that cabinetry and those walls, as well as a mason to repair the doorway.

​@@heavyrain6012 I'm gonna tell you as a carpenter myself that no, these panels aren't 150 bucks. Drop ceiling tiles are 65¢/sq ft at home depot where I get em. Same with the light fixture, they're not $150. We've used a few types, one brand we used at $74 with tax out the door and another nicer style was about $115 with tax out the door. It depends on what you buy Plus there's also this, you don't buy materials from IKEA my guy. Never.

Your damage to property charge doesnt include the cost of paying a cabinet guy and a finish carpenter for the panelling, easily another $3000 at least you could even say all the spilled food, broken glass, and thrown tvs ruined the floor thats another $1000 minimum. Murder is 25 to life depending, that looked reactionary you'd have to establish the intent to bump it up to capital, as it relates to terroristic threats they (the judge or prosecution recommending) rarely do a full sentence on that I usually see a few weeks to a couple months (they tend to tack it on to unruly defendants). With the aggravated assault that also depends it also wouldn't matter if he healed from the injury. As it relates to a simple assault it's unlikely you'd get two years. You're correct about the restitution but there would also be court fees involved in addition to that and the mandatory fines. Im going off the penal code and Texas law and my experience in county and district courts though could be different elsewhere
