UPDATE (1/28/22): Thanks to everyone who's gotten this video to 30,000 views!! Wow, I really appreciate the support for a video I made well over 4 years ago, haha. Just wanted to take a second to address a couple of common comments that keep popping up on this over the last couple of years: - Yeah, saying Undyne said Papyrus was "weak" wasn't really on-point (and yes, I know, in that hangout scene, she says he's pretty freakin' tough but is ultimately too nice to go to war). That's my bad, but trust me, you DON'T NEED TO COMMENT THIS TO TELL ME. You're not even close to the first person to point out that goof, and saying it when it's already been said dozens of times doesn't do anything, because it's not like I can go back to December of 2017 and retroactively change what I said to more accurately reflect Undyne's dialogue. - Yes, I'm aware NOW that PokeTale is an Undertale AU (and apparently a pretty popular one, at that). I wasn't aware of PokeTale when I wrote this script. No, this video existing does not somehow undermine the existence or story structure of PokeTale. This purely hypothetical silly video and PokeTale can both exist. I guess I shouldn't complain about either of these comments because, hey, more engagement for the video, but I'm just saying, neither of these is really constructive to point out on a 4+ year old video when I've seen both points made DOZENS OF TIMES ALREADY, haha.

Actually it's not that Papyrus is weak, but rather he's way too nice for a "real battle" as proven in the Genocide Run. So I think the Great Papyrus is entitled to have at least one evolved Pokemon on his team, possibly evolve that Snubbull into Granbull. Other than that (and the glaring lack of Fire Types in Toriel's team), I agree with all of your choices.

I gotta say, these "what if" videos are some of my favorites that you do. I wasn't expecting an Undertale one, since you're basically asking "What if magical monsters owned and battled with magical monsters," but you made it work and I really like your choices for everyone. (Also, I love how you gave Toriel a mono-Fairy team.) But ever since you started doing these, I've wondered: why do you only give everyone four Pokemon instead of a full team of six?

For brevity's sake, mostly (I feel like these videos would be waaaaaaaay too long if I tried coming up with full teams of six for some of them), and also because I feel like I can cover the characters' traits, personalities, aesthetic, etc. with four, whereas sometimes, I feel like trying to come up with a 5th or 6th 'Mon would just result in some 'Mons being filler or redundant picks.

Thank you! But trust me, I didn't forget anyone, I just didn't include them in this video. For these "What If...?" videos, I only pick 5 characters for the fandom that I'm crossing Pokemon over with, mainly for the sake of brevity, and the 5 I went with are the ones I was most interested in creating teams for when I wrote this script. If I do some sort of follow up to this specific one, though, I'd likely include some of the major characters I didn't in this first one.

Here are a few you didn't talk about: Muffet would have Meowth (because she only cares about money), Ariados, Galvantula and Araquanid (because they are spiders). Alphys would have Weezing, Dugtrio, Dodrio and Magnezone (Pokemon who are literally a few of their pre-evolutions fused together, like the Amalgamates are monsters fused together). Gaster would have Porygon Z, Palkia, Dialga, Giratina and MissingNo (the first 4 are related to time, space and other dimensions, and MissingNo is a glitch Pokemon, wich shouldn't exist, and Gaster doesn't really exist anymore), and no, i don't care about the fact 3 of them are legendaries, and 1 of them isn't actually a Pokemon, because it's my idea.

My thoughts on undertale teams: Flowey: Morpeko - It seems friendly at first but can be very evil. Monsters in the ruins: Route 1 pokemon - You know why. Napstablook: Whismur - Sound and pretty weak. Toriel: Dubwool - It is a sheep or a goat. Gardevoir - Your reason. Nidoqueen - She was the queen. Papyrus: Riolu - A happy pokemon that likes fighting and can be much stronger than it seems. Cubone - Because yes. Plusle - One off the sibling pokemon. Sans pacifist: Minun - One of the sibling pokemon. Munchlax - Loves to eat and is lazy. Monster kid: Scraggy - Matching looks i think. Eevee - I just feel like it. Undyne pacifist: Gyarados - FISH Sirfetch'd - Looks like an royal guard. Escavalier - Your reason. Poliwrath - A strong water pokemon. Im gonna take a break here. Well... for Undyne, I'd swap the garados for a Lucario that can mega evolve as it's ability to see through the aura seems to match up with Undyne's sixth sense for the human's LV and EXP, also he can summon energy clubs similar to how Undyne summons her spears. The san's team is perfect though. Would have never thought of Marrowac, but it makes sense.

For the hardest fight in the game, you sure didn't go all out. I, personally, give him all 6. I agree on Shedinja, as well as Alolan Marowak (mainly because Bonemerang and Shadow Bone). However, his Ace would be a Mega Alakazam that more or less replaces your Meowstic, which he will always lead with and immediately mega evolve - using his strongest attack first. I actually gave Whimsicott to Sans, mainly for the prankster ability, but also because it represents something that could be seen as harmless, but can deliver some huge damage (competitive players know what I'm talking about..) I also gave him Terakion. Yeah, he gets a legendary. Cry about it. Terakion's ability is Justified, as well as him being one of the Swords of Justice. Given how he delivers justice on the genocide route, it only makes sense. Also Terakion because it's apparently the best one, competitively. Don't quote me on that. Last I had Blissey, mainly for the fact that he "stalls" you at the end of your battle. He will send it out as a last resort only after all 5 of his others have fainted

Actually, no, I wasn't aware of that. I mean, I know there's about 9000 Undertale AU's floating around out there, but I didn't know of "TrainerTale" until you and somebody else mentioned it in this comments section and even then I've not actually looked into it at all, haha.

I actually did consider Slaking for the "lazy but super strong" Pokemon for Sans, but I went with Snorlax in the end, just because Snorlax covered both the "lazy but actually will kill you when prompted" bit as well as the "eats a heck of a lot of food" bit. And Regigigas really wouldn't have worked there, in my opinion, because Regi's not lazy, he's a centuries-old giant golem that, by all in-universe standards, literally JUST awoke from a really, REALLY long slumber, which isn't exactly of his own volition like Snorlax's laziness is.

Sans would be a Psychic and Ghost type, with the Ability Wonder Guard Papyrus: Rock Blast, Earthquake, Bone Club, Attract. Ghost and Psychic. Ability: Adaptability. Toriel: Fire Blast, Tackle, Slash, Flame Charge. Fire and Normal. Ability: Blaze Asgore: All the same as Toriel, only stronger. Undyne: Water Pulse, Water Shuriken, Arm Thrust, Ariel Ace. Water and Fighting. Ability: Torrent.

Papyrus should have a Farfetch'd which is special, transforming to something looking like papyrus (Like Farfetch'd in Papyrus clothes and holding a bone) Sans should have a Cubone. Not a Marowak, a Cubone. Sans chose Cubone cus he looks he was weak. Which that Cubone transforms into looking like sans.
