What If Teen Titans Characters Were Pokemon Trainers?

Hey, everybody, and welcome to this newest edition of the "What If...?" series, all about Teen Titans! I've wanted to talk about Teen Titans for a while now, and hey, what is the "What If...?" series if not my flimsy excuse to talk about a media property I haven't brought up yet? Hopefully you all appreciate the picks I had for each member of the team (and leave some comments with your own ideas!). I've been trying to actually stick to a consistent upload schedule of every other Tuesday (save for the previous video, which had to go up on Wednesday due to a copyright issue), so here's hoping I can keep up with it, because I like knowing that you guys know when to expect me uploading a new video! Anyway, it's probably better than me leaving weeks or even a month or so between uploads like I was for a lot of last year, haha. In any case, DRINK WATER.

I very much enjoyed this video and I agree with every pokemon that you have listed. There are some I would have added though if they had teams of 6. Robin: Infernape to reference the monkey form from the Titanimals episode and it being a very agile fighting type, as well as a Crobat to reference both Batman and Robin's future persona, Nightwing. Starfire: Clefable as its line is infamous for its connection to outerspace and Dustox to reference Silky Beast Boy: Tyrantrum because one of Beast Boy's most used form is the king of dinosaurs and Torterra, which not only fits with his green theme but also serves as a reference to Terra. Maybe it could even be a female Torterra. Cyborg: Magnezone and Aggron, both for obvious reasons. I can see Cyborg feeding his Aggron scrap metal and Magnezone helps power the tower alongside Cy's Rotom. Raven: Finally Espeon and Delphox for Raven. Espeon may seem like an odd choice but since Robin calls Raven hopeful, I think it would be symbolic for that to be manifested in a pokemon that evolves with friendship. As for Delphox, i think it's self explanatory. There is one other Teen Titans character I have thought of having pokemon and that is Jinx. Jinx: Misdreavus, Banette, Ninetales, Absol (shiny), Spiritomb and Liepard, all pokemon that can be associated with bad luck and superstition, and half of them have curses being a part of their pokedex entries

I think that Cyborg would get a magnezone, an electric/steel type, because it also fits with his half robot motif and he is always inventing new gadgets for the team.

Oooh, yeah, Magnezone would be cool! Love me some Magnezone -- fun fact, the first time I hit Master Ball Rank in Pokemon Sword and Shield's ranked online battles was with a team that had a Magnezone on it, haha.

Aw yeah, another "What if… Pokemon?" video! I didn't watch Teen Titans as a kid since I grew up under the impression that superheroes and those kinds of cartoons were only made for boys, but I've long since grown out of that mentality, and since multiple sources I trust have said good things about it, I have the original series on my HBO Max watch list.

Beast Boy should have a shiny Zoroark. It's illusions are a fair enough approximation of his shifting abilities and the purple colors are a great reference to his time with the Doom patrol

sylveon also kinda makes sense for starfire, since slyveon is the embodiment of friendship just like starfire herself.

Idk if u were counting legends or not but hoopa would of been a good fit for raven since it can make portals and it has to be controlled so it unbound form won't go wild and genescect for cyborg because obviously

It's not a hard-and-fast rule, but I tend to not try to give someone a Legendary Pokemon unless the character themselves are, well, legendary or revered or otherwise really, REALLY powerful in some way or another. Of course, I obviously make exceptions and break that rule for myself whenever I see fit, because I do wanna operate on at least semi-consistent internal logic with these, but ultimately, these are *my* videos and I'm just gonna do what I want, haha.

Part of me wants to say that Starfire should have gotten a Cat-like pokemon.... not sure which one though. Mostly as some reference to how her people are supposed to be descended of alien cats (or something like that) in the comics. Though that never came up in the show, so it's no big loss. One issue I see with Kecleon on Beast Boy.... is that the Color Change ability is determined by the opponent, not only does that make it a pretty bad ability, but Best Boy's transformations are by his own choice, not his opponent's..... Thankfully Kecleon also get's protean, which should mirror the transformation aspet just as well (if not better), while also being a better ability overall. Another thing you could have pointed out, is that Robin also didn't blame them for putting on his costume while he was out... in fact, when he came back and saw them pretending to be him, he just went along with it. Much to their surprise.

@@SuperNerdDaniel We seen in the back ground of StarFire's room and a few small scenes that StarFire does like flowers. Plus I feel like Munna would kinda follow her. Munna like to eat dreams so I like the ide of a Munna just appearing and staying by StarFire because her dreams are so tasty. Plus for Robin I think there's a pokemon you missed that could be added and it matches the flying theme. A Crobat. Because although we don't see much of the Batman in the show. Other than reference. And given how much past Dick has with the Cape Crusader. I feel like having one bat Pokémon. Be it the Zubat or Noibat line make sense.I don't feel like Robin would fully disown the Bat.

Honestly, I'm not saying Crobat would've been a bad choice -- far from it, actually -- since it would've been a nod to his past as Batman's #2, as well as been another super-fast Flying-type, and I had actually considered it for Robin's team, but I ultimately decided not to because I would think that, when Robin struck out on his own to go to Jump City, he wanted to prove he could do things without Batman and be his own hero. Not in a, "I'm totally disowning my mentor" way, but more just in a, "I need to prove I can do this myself and not live in your shadow" kinda way, if that makes sense. Again, not even saying Crobat would be a bad pick, by any means, just kinda giving my reasoning as to why I didn't go with it.

I would, but I'm not really familiar with TF2 at all, and I tend to stick to stuff that I've actually seen/played/etc. with this sort of thing, because there'd already be that layer of familiarity with the characters, if that makes sense. I don't know if I'm ever gonna get around to looking into TF2, but I'll probably end up doing one of these for TF2 if I ever do!
