What influences my personal style.

Finding your own personal style is not easy. It has to express your values, what you like, how creative or conservative you are, and where you are going in life. Juggling all of these things is not easy. This short video will give you a glimpse into what makes my personal style my own. I hope it will inspire you to better define and find your own.

Firstly, your dog is adorable! I love that your pup meditates with you! (haha) My personal style is a contradiction. I love business/sophisticated/classic looks mixed with boho/natural/edgy. As a school psychologist, I have to interact with kids all day, but also be ready to go to meetings with lawyers/administrators. Makes for some difficult shopping!

I changed my style when I became mom. my wardrobe had to become more practical, simple to keep, basic of pieces but always stylish. so I did a lot of research. now I'm more "stylish", I have a few very beautiful pieces that interchange with each other, I invest more time in research but less in shopping and more with my baby. oh, and thanks to this I discovered you Daria! you're one of my sources of inspiration, so thanks forever

Most of the women change their style to casual and practical when they become mothers. But lots of them don’t know how to change it again when they don’t need to be so casual any more. It sounds like you figured it out and know what you like and how you want to look. It’s quite important :)

Interesting video, Daria. Thank you for it. Few notes from my personal exp.: bigger girls hardly get an option to wear loose-fitting or oversized clothes. I am glad when there is a pair of pants that I can squeeze in and that does not cut off my blood supply. Bigger clothes you can mostly find with bigger retailers and not smaller, ethical ones, thus the fit can get weird. I especially dislike when there is a collar which must have a different proportion when put on a dress of size, say 16, and size 6. It is hardly ever the case. It is harder to buy more expensive clothes in a way that if you make a mistake, the investment is painful.

My personal style in 3 words is flattering, effortless, and a little eccentric while being modest. I love mixing vintage with modern lools, experimenting with incorporating trends into my everyday looks, and creating a story with my clothes. I wish I could draw, because I'd make a great costume designer.

buildable - making sure pieces i acquire can be layered so i can exponentially increase outfit combinations. comfortable - if i cant sleep in it, its not worth my money. short tops + high bottom - high waisted trousers with tucked in shirts is my default silhouette because i am short. no fast fashion - i only thrift vintage or non-fast fashion brands because of all the reasons.

I am really struggling to find my style since I’ve moved to Sweden almost 4 years ago. Before I managed to create a very cohesive style but which doesn’t suit me anymore and it doesn’t go with living here. I need functional clothing that are also beautiful. I very rarely feel good nowadays when I go out. And being a mom and having less time has definitely not helped my style.

Yes, it’s actually pretty normal to be a little confused about your style because your life went through so many changes. Try to let go of your previous stylistic preferences and understand what beautiful means to you now. Is it something classic and elegant or bohemian and casual. Or maybe something rock-n-roll? :) and than think of how to make it more functional... maybe choose more practical colors or comfier shoes... I wish I could just teach you how to do it here, but it’s quite complex. I have a class in the WW course about finding and evolving your style that explains it all in details.

Daria, thank you so much for your nice answer. This is one of the other reasons why you are my favorite youtuber, because you take your time to communicate with us 💜. I’m actually thinking taking your class, I hope that it will be my Christmas present this year. My style is definitely more casual now that it used to be. It was quite elegant before. I still like a lot of classic pieces also. But I really need to accept that this is who I am now and try to make it as beautiful as I can but keep it functional at the same time. That is another challenge. Finding functional clothing pieces that are not sport gear.

Wow, I was just wondering today, what is my style, how to find my style, as I was in a thrift store. I really don't know what is flattering on me, I try on clothes a lot in stores just to see, but can't seem to get the feeling of a particular style for me. I am in a period where I feel ugly. Do you think that if you know yourself as a person, you can form your style faster and more accurate? I am asking this because I don't have a sense of who I am and maybe that is interfering in my finding a style that I shine in. Anyone with this problem here?
